Finished up this cats head hammer. First one for me. 4 working sides on the head. Each cheek is a peen. 2.25lb with 16" hickory handle.

This heat I'm opening the eye back up after pinching it closed a bit from setting the fullers on these 4lb rounding hammers.

A few hammers forged and finished this week. The objective has been short and stout hammer heads. These are all 3.5lb range.

Back in the office after a Christmas vacation.

I’ve been having trouble with drawing out an octagon. My material wants to twist when I go from square to octagonal. I don’t have any trouble going round to square. I know it has to be in how I am hammering but I don’t know what exactly. Any thoughts?
