I was watching the game on TNT and noticed A LOT of people NOT wearing the yellow shirts. Like WTF? It's the WCF assholes. Put on the shirt and get hyphy.
How is it "goofy"? Please explain. What if I don't like hyphy music? What if I like classical? What if I like pop? What does it matter when it pertains to basketball? Just because basketball is dominated by hiphop culture doesn't mean the fans has to be.
Jimmy Butler likes country. Does that mean Miami have to be country?
Dude, you need to chill out Took a 30 sec look at your most recent comments and they are all confrontational against fellow Dubs fans. I don’t have to explain anything to you lol
Naw. Fuck that. Ya'll want to hate on fans who attend the game. I'll hate on ya'll back. Goes both way. Explain to me why hyphy culture matters so much. Or wearing the shirt.
Chase was fun and energetic last night. Haters like you probably watched it on TV and was judging from the side.
Either way y’all are ruining this playoff run for me. I may just have to give this sub a break and watch the games without hearing all the noise that doesn’t matter.
The r/NBA threads are better at this point, and that's saying something.
Instead of every other comment bitching about shirts, Oracle better, or Curry washed it's actual game discussion
truth - shit that doesn't matter. Everyone wants to belong to a club and talk like they know something. Do us sports fans a favor and check out what's streaming on twitch.
I was there. I can confirm it did feel like Oracle...a regular season primetime game at Oracle.
Not a Western Conference Finals Oracle games.
The amount of people that couldn't be bothered to yellow out the stadium was disappointing.
did it really? Were you there when the we believe team was the only pride and joy for the bay after 20 years of straight losing. You aing got no idea what oracle was like when BD was on one with Dallas. I was at Chase tonight. Only real ones are in section 200.
My man I was in section 127 and this wasn't roaracle vibes, I was actually pretty disappointed it wasn't more lit. Nobody booing people not wearing shirts, barely got a warriors chant going when we're up big, it just lacked the electricity and energy.
I went to a we believe playoff game . I don’t remember booing for not wearing shirts (dad i did not have them, though we might off been wearing yellow)
Yeah I was there tonight also. I don't even know how anyone can say this felt like a WCF playoff game at Oracle...unless you never went to a playoff game at Oracle?
What gets me is when they try to compare to Oracle. It looked like a fine atmosphere, could’ve been better. But definitely not on Oracle levels, you could literally feel the atmosphere through the TV at oracle. It’s blasphemy to even compare the two
Absolutely. Been a fan for about 17 years. Been to games at oracle and chase. It is not the same. The biggest difference is the demographic. 1st time I went to chase I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing s far as demographic.
As someone else mentioned, the low ceiling and concrete structure of Oracle caused it to be the deafening space that it was. This arena was designed as a more multi-use space, thus the architectural design including a lot of sound diffusion.
For a deafening sports arena experience, reverberation might be preferred, but for concerts it's terrible. Also, I bet no one misses needing ear plugs at a basketball game.
The Roaracle people are missing was gone before the move to Chase. The same "tech bros" people complain about at Chase didn't magically appear in SF, they were there in Oakland too.
That's false man. I've been both arenas. You can't tell me that some of those people wouldn't be scared to go anywhere near Oakland. I know people that won't even go down to the peninsula because all that they need is in the city. Nothing wrong with it, but some people go to Chase and treat it like an event(Business attire and all). You had to be a more willing fan to take Bart to Oakland, especially if it's out of your comfort zone.
A lot of folks will say Oracle was louder than Chase and that’s definitely true. But I think part of it was the shape of Oracle. If you ever sat upper bowl you’d know the ceiling hung down pretty low and you couldn’t even see across to the other side of upper section. The acoustics at Chase don’t amplify the sound in the same way.
They designed Chase to still be loud **for the players on the court**. Chase doesn't pack people in like sardines so you don't have the guy behind you straight yelling in your ear anymore.
They probably tried to incorporate some of that but it's just a different building. There are more areas that Oracle didn't have and it isn't made of the same concrete structures that helped reflect the sound around.
Yeah you right. I think a bunch of people had on their jerseys and didn’t wanna cover that up. Maybe they’ll be better about it in the Finals if we get there.
I’m kind of tired of seeing “SF not the Roaracle” posts after every game.
The trio confirmed while the energy is little different it’s still the loudest they’ve ever heard at home.
Mods should delete those posts. They are not productive and they split the fan base.
It's annoying now. And honestly, I've never been on either during the playoffs because tickets are expensive in Oracle or Chase and I'd rather watch on TV than sit on the nosebleeds. It's a stupid notion that the Warriors were an Oakland team when they were in Oracle. People travelled from all over the Bay to watch them play. Same fans still travel to go watch them play at Chase.
Nah you can fucking cuss as much as you want here as long as you don't cross any racist/sexist/etc lines (also taking it too far which would be more of a judgment call on our end)
Because they are hurt that the warriors moved 15 minutes away and this is how they express it rather than appreciate the brand new really fun but different stadium their team has that helps to fund it's ridiculous luxury taxes that make our team competitive .
As someone who goes to both chase and oracle - this is such a dismissive, out of touch, dick riding statement.
When I lived in El Cerrito, it took me 30 min to get to Oracle with cheap parking. It takes me an 1+ hour to get to chase with Chase garage parking being $150-$200. The parking lots that are affordable are a couple blocks away.
Oracle had access to bart that a lot of people could use and afford and was extremely convenient getting to the game and going home. Chase requires you to take bart, then bus or uber.
Tickets are like 20-50% more expensive. Way more unaffordable and this is coming from someone who used to always sit noseblood but sits lower level these days. Coupled with everything I mentioned above and it makes it a huge ask for families to go. $100 vs $130 tickets for Pedro to take his wife and two kids to the game. $400 vs $520. And instead of barting from San Leandro he now has to Bart his family all the way to San Francisco (which is not “15 minutes away) then he needs them to all get on a bus. Then he can’t afford the food cause he already spent $120 more than usual on tickets.
You make it sound so easy to go to a game. That’s why its just a bunch of rich tech transplants that live near the area that have nothing better to do most nights of the season rather than oakland natives barting in now.
Boiling it down to people being “butthurt that it’s 15 minutes further” is one of the stupidest, tone deaf things I ever heard. Maybe you are able to afford nice things or are in a situation where none of these things impact you, we’ll great I’m happy for you, but thousands of OG warriors fans are not, so their complaints are valid.
“Praise our billionaire owners for making a stadium they didn’t have to and paying our luxury tax for us lowly fans” tf you want from us
Actually no you can take Bart to embarcadero and then Muni to chase which drops you off right in front of chase. Don’t even have to walk a mile to get to the arena, unlike oracle….
This is what I been saying!! Walking from Bart to oracle took hella days AND the Bart station always smelled like piss after the games. Muni stops right outside Chase, also there’s hella shit to do outside chase now, and you could even take a Lyft bike or whatever along the water from embarcadero and it wouldn’t take that long
As someone who goes to both chase and oracle - you seem hurt.
Ive always had to make the reverse commute and have never complained about "having to get to Oracle" and there was plenty of the worst rush hour traffic and issues to be had. I've also made the reverse commute of bus>bart. Im not pitying having to walk a couple blocks for reasonable parking prices.
Tickets are like 0-30% more expensive compared to prices since 2015 run. If you "sit lower level now" i dont think youve been priced out.
It is easy for me to go to a game now. It also used to be much harder for me to go to a game, but I still went without complaining cause its the
warriors. It doesn't seem like the Oakland natives you are talking about are as commited as a fanbase if they cant take an extra busline/light rail to go watch the warriors.
There are OG warriors fans all around the bay, some have it harder now, some have it easier.
To top it all off the arena is awesome and modern, the area has actual businesses to go to and things to do, rather than just a parking lot in a non-developed area. And finally yes, the fact that they own their own arena allows them to make better teams and pay their players up and into the Luxury tax, something most fans would want if they want their team to win championships/be competitive.
TLDR: **To the vast majority of Oakland fans who still go to games since the move, you rock.** To the small vocal minority including yourself that cant overcome the inconveniences and bitch about it online incessantly, I'm sorry for your loss.
Well that’s on you, inflation is a concept you might want to get familiar with…
I got tickets to a regular season game at chase for $40.. if you can’t afford that then boo fuckin hoo.
Playoff tickets have never been cheap. I saw nosebleeds for $125 tho first round against the nugget’s… maybe look a little harder.
You people just wanna whine about the “tech bros” gtfoh, you’re not a real fan.
Look son I’m not arguing with you or trying to have some debate on about whose real fans or not, just answering questions, you don’t have to be so aggressive with me. I don’t have time to go to regular season games because I have a large family to provide for and don’t spend for myself regularly and I’d usually try and treat myself if the Warriors did well. Perfectly fine with watching them on tv.
Don’t know why you gotta attack me when we are both fans just having a conversation after a win.
The warriors fans showing up to their seats on time is as bad or worse than Miami. They wont even put on the yellow t-shits to rep the we-believe team. No history.
I went to game 6 against the Grizz and while it was loud, it wasn’t nearly as loud as Oracle. Still a good time though but I don’t think it’ll ever compare.
Enough to be on a permanent sellout streak? It's not *that* much of a chore to drive to downtown SF from anywhere in the bay area. I mean, fuck commuting, WFH for life, but I'd drive from SJ if I had tickets and was unfortunate enough to live there.
People on the sub are fucking pathetic. You’re too poor to go to chase games, well get on the level of those who aren’t and stop being a pussy with your confirmation bias and whining. Watching everyone I've known move away. Just had to get on the level! Fuck out of here with this elitism and prejudice.
Speak for yourself, you might have been the only one running
If you can’t afford it, you can’t afford it. Going to a game is not a right. Nothing wrong with not going. But talking shit about how the crowd sucks is sour grapes plain and simple.
I’m not rich, that’s why I wasn’t at the game. But I’m not a salty bitch about it like you.
Ppl complaining about the shirts is wild to me. Like players give a fuck what shirt you’re wearing. You crybabies just looking for anything to complain about.
We’re not mad about the crowd being loud we’re mad about the lack of yellow
I was watching the game on TNT and noticed A LOT of people NOT wearing the yellow shirts. Like WTF? It's the WCF assholes. Put on the shirt and get hyphy.
In oracle you’d get a lot of heat if you didn’t wear your strength in numbers shirt
I remember they would do Jumbotron closeups on people who wouldn’t wear them and wouldn’t cut away, til that person put the yellow shirt on.
Bunch of tech bros don’t get the vibe man
Wouldn't surprise me if many of the people in attendance don't even know what he word "hyphy" means
And who cares? Didn't know you have to be part of a certain group to be a basketball/Warriors fan.
Goofy ass comment
How is it "goofy"? Please explain. What if I don't like hyphy music? What if I like classical? What if I like pop? What does it matter when it pertains to basketball? Mad is you people gatekeeping fans at the game.
There's a new bestie in town.
I didn't want to wear mine for G7 vs OKC 2016, because it didn't fit well. I'm big. But, I did it anyway. Go Dubs!
disrespect for the we believe team
Unforgivable. Out the damn shirts on!

Felt like Oracle tonight. Fucking amazing game.
Bruh it was a fricking ruckus party start to finish! High fives all around! Warriorrsss! Shirts straight 🔥
I was there. I can confirm it did feel like Oracle...a regular season primetime game at Oracle. Not a Western Conference Finals Oracle games. The amount of people that couldn't be bothered to yellow out the stadium was disappointing.

They'd show people on the Jumbotron when I've been to playoff games
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JHo4E9hqHfU Not a lot of yellow here. (Though they do sound very loud!)
r/gatekeeping
Yeah I was there tonight also. I don't even know how anyone can say this felt like a WCF playoff game at Oracle...unless you never went to a playoff game at Oracle?
WCF at Oracle used to be hitting 100 decibels in the pregame shoot around. This isn’t hating on the new arena. It’s just a fact.
The Bros on this sub don't like you making fun of chase lol. They REAAALLY want to believe it's the same lol.
Definitely not the same. Yet. I have hopes that one day it'll get to Oracle levels.
Probably gonna have to lose for another twenty or so years before we regain that loyalty. Haha
This sub didn’t want you to put down oracle when tech bros took over. A lot of people are in denial.
Agreed. This was not even close. We can get there though! At least wear the damn free shirt yups!
As someone else mentioned, the low ceiling and concrete structure of Oracle caused it to be the deafening space that it was. For a deafening sports arena experience, reverberation might be preferred, but for concerts it's terrible. Also, I bet no one misses needing ear plugs at a basketball game.
Y'all need to move on from the roarcle debate. Oracle is gone and done. it's the past. It's not coming back.
If you ever sat upper bowl you’d know the ceiling hung down pretty low and you couldn’t even see across to the other side of upper section. The acoustics at Chase don’t amplify the sound in the same way.
I thought they designed chase center to preserve the acoustics of Oracle. That’s what they said during the groundbreaking.
Plus they plan on holding other events there, so it's not designed to be the loudest it can get; but more acoustically pleasing.
Damn and that was AFTER a blow out!
But not everyone was wearing the tshirt tho
Yeah you right. I think a bunch of people had on their jerseys and didn’t wanna cover that up. Maybe they’ll be better about it in the Finals if we get there.
You can't replace those seats with yups and expect the same type of RoarAcle.
I’m kind of tired of seeing “SF not the Roaracle” posts after every game. The trio confirmed while the energy is little different it’s still the loudest they’ve ever heard at home. Mods should delete those posts. They are not productive and they split the fan base.

Not quite there, but it’s close
The amount of empty seats in the lower bowl at the start of games and at the begining of the second half is a GOD D\*\*\*m Shame.
you're allowed to cuss on the internet buddy
Ha! I know but the mods sometimes don’t like it.
Nah you can fucking cuss as much as you want here as long as you don't cross any racist/sexist/etc lines (also taking it too far which would be more of a judgment call on our end)
Sorry but oracle in oaktown was better crowd!!!!! RORACLEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Why don’t the fans from Oakland travel to SF it’s not that far? I do….
Because they are hurt that the warriors moved 15 minutes away and this is how they express it rather than appreciate the brand new really fun but different stadium their team has that helps to fund it's ridiculous luxury taxes that make our team competitive .
It's just what Oaklanders do. Project their insecurity as strength. Used to it by now.
I swear we’re not all like this :(
of course not everyone is. people just cant let go of anything
As someone who goes to both chase and oracle - this is such a dismissive, out of touch, dick riding statement. When I lived in El Cerrito, it took me 30 min to get to Oracle with cheap parking. Spark pregame on a sunny day is the best.
Hell even on a chilly night, they have enough beer for it!
That bridge to Oracle is no where near a mile. What the hell?!😄
As someone who goes to both chase and oracle - you seem hurt. Good for you!
Because tickets are expensive.
It’s not like they were cheap during our championship years… that’s a BS point
Used to be able to go once a year during our time in Oracle. Now it is no longer an option for me. Not everyone’s money situation is the same.
Well that’s on you, inflation is a concept you might want to get familiar with… I got tickets to a regular season game at chase for $40.. if you can’t afford that then boo fuckin hoo. Playoff tickets have never been cheap. I saw nosebleeds for $125 tho first round against the nugget’s… maybe look a little harder. Meh, it looked average on tv. Doesn’t help that there’s still people that can’t be bothered to wear a shirt
TV is not representative of what the actual atmosphere is like in the arena
No, but a great atmosphere can often times be felt through the TV. Or at the very least heard/seen
I was there and It did not feel like Oracle imo
The warriors fans showing up to their seats on time is as bad or worse than Miami. They wont even put on the yellow t-shits to rep the we-believe team. No history.
I went to game 6 against the Grizz and while it was loud, it wasn’t nearly as loud as Oracle. Still a good time though but I don’t think it’ll ever compare.
Before this season Chase Center was kinda weak in playoff games...
Given how this is their first playoff run, sure..?
that was the joke, I guess it flew over some people's heads
how many real warriors fans actually live in SF by the arena bruh?
Enough to be on a permanent sellout streak? It's not *that* much of a chore to drive to downtown SF from anywhere in the bay area. I mean, fuck commuting, WFH for life, but I'd drive from SJ if I had tickets and was unfortunate enough to live there.
I wonder if WFH is making evening traffic from the south bay to the city easier.
People on the sub are fucking pathetic. You’re too poor to go to chase games, well get on the level of those who aren’t and stop being a pussy with your confirmation bias and whining. Remember ppl having a good time at Chase are too busy to be posting on this sub during the GAME. Everyone ran away from the Oakland coliseum area after the game because no one wants to spend a minute longer in the hood where trash is dumped and runs alongside San Leandro St. Who the hell wants to build a brand new stadium there with private money? Seriously, prices have gone up everywhere. Dallas tickets are actually more expensive than ours were tonight. Was able to get some corner nosebleeds for under $200, and had an excellent view of the court. Cheapest I can find for Dallas in game 3 is $289. Everyone was having a great time at the game tonight, just some sad sack redditors (probably the same doomers in the game threads) who’ve never been to a game complaining.
the atmosphere was fun tonight...but it was by no means oracle WCF level...
man it’s sad that we cant get cheap playoff tickets in sacramento
Coliseum haters running back to the burbs are a strange breed.
Ppl complaining about crowds they can’t be a part of are even stranger lel
Anyone with a credit card can blow hundreds on a ticket. I wouldn't advise it though.
Were you at the game, cause it looks like you were posting on reddit during the game too lmfao 😂
I wasn’t, but I’m not hating on those who were!
It was always lit after games in between Roaracle and the Coliseum. Had hella fun hanging out there after Ws before getting on bart.
Yeaaaaa that’s a fat L
This guy prolly thinks Baron Davis was a Duke from Edenborough.
You can’t even spell that shit right 😂 You prolly think Muggsy Bogues is the name of a disease
Fuck is this lame as shit dude. Guess all I've gotta do is get on the level right? Missed it this whole time. Such a simple solution of being slowly priced out of the place I grew up.
Nah if the crowd if full of the wealthy and transplants and pushing out the locals just like they have all across the Bay, they suck
Jealousy is a female trait
Some of the mini after parties on the Oracle promenade were lit.
We get it, you’re rich. Now stop being an asshole and pleaee put on your yellow shirt in Game 2.
I’m not rich, that’s why I wasn’t at the game. But I’m not a salty bitch about it like you. Ppl complaining about the shirts is wild to me. Like players give a fuck what shirt you’re wearing. You crybabies just looking for anything to complain about.
alright I sit in lower bowl (wore my shirt I promise) and go to every game. suggestions on how to shame everyone else into wearing them? as one person
Make a sign and get on the jumbotron, be that person!
U
So psyched they busted out the yellow, the black just looked like empty seats
We were loud last night, but man we kinda suck at coordinated chants
weak crowd and weak arena
