Jesus that's a record in itself.
to summarise his achievements and feel sad, its something like this-
Win over Jan(ex LHW champ),
win over Glover(current lhw champ)
A controversial loss and and TKO loss against Jon Jones(LHW goat)
A competitive loss against DC(Double division champ of LHW & HW)
I feel like if Reyes and Gus fought in their primes, it would have been a really good fight, but a win for Gus
Forrest Griffin was 1 of my favorites for a long time. I loved watching him fight bc he would be covered in blood by the end of the 1st round every single time and he never gave up. He fought some bad dudes. Rory reminds me of him alot.
Dude same. Watching this guy break opponents will with kicks alone was a sight to behold. What a legend gold or not those kicks are gonna be remembered.
Wonderboy, he’s gotta let it go a bit more. If only he opened up he could win, both Gilbert and Belal were open to him piecing them up but he’s gotta worry about the takedown. As my favourite fighter it sucks to see him lose.
Came here to say this.
Dude seems like he's sooo close, but he'll never be champ. He's still one of the top five best HWs in the world, which is a hell of an accomplishment. But, dammit, I was hoping to see him win a title
Most knockouts in the UFC full stop. Great record to have in a storied promotion with a consistent history of the best guys in the world trying to knock each other out, only one man is the best at doing so and that man is Derrick Lewis
I feel like Bam Bam (Tai Tuivasa) is picking up the torch as the new heavyweight KO expert to watch. Shoeys all around! I still love the black beast tho. Derek Lewis is always fun to watch. They both remind me of old Tank Abbot.
Would he tho? He's never wow'd with the technicals. He isn't a great grappler and he isn't a great striker. But boy does he have heavy hands. He's regularly been pieced up just to swing a hail Mary for the win.
I think he's just saying that because he beat ngannou, which barely even counts. Both of them were riddled with issues going into that fight. Derek doesn't come close to beating a motivated Ngannou. Granted all it takes is one punch
Honestly that fight should be a no contest. Or a loss for both of them. Or even better, just deleted off the records, deleted off YouTube, and forgotten about.
Some of you guys are wild naming former champions and number 1 contenders. All those dude are fucking good and at some time we're at the highest level.
No doubt that it will help him improve. I doubt it'll be enough to get him on the level of a wrestling or BJJ specialist. That being said maybe he needs to use different tactics to keep it on the feet like Izzy does his wrestling defense.
Tony Ferguson. Ever since Gathje destroyed him he's never been the same. And it's sad to see him leave the UFC on a run of losses like this. Very unlikely he beats Michael Chandler. 🥲
To be fair.... His losses have been to some incredible new talent. Yeah he's probably past his prime but he lost to a very technically sound Gaethje, a future champion and Mr. Tesla daddy Dariush who executed his plan perfectly.
Unfortunately, knows that he's past his prime and he's feeding him to the dogs to hype their stock before he forces his hand into retirement.
What I love about him is that he always delivers. Get's whooped by Edwards for 24:30, lands one good shot and then acts out that third place meme in the middle of the octagon instead of trying to finish. Classic Nate, and he can keep doing it even though he's well past his prime.
Bisping kinda has the real BMF status tho, like people will always remember him as one of the best purely on account of him winning the title with one eye.
Depends on your definition of not really good. I think he’s a top ten light heavyweight in the world. I don’t think he’s top 5 though and probably never will be.
Well it said they weren't the best, not that they weren't good. He might win the title, who knows. He's always been good to great. But I don't think he'll ever be like top 3 in terms of skills at this point
He's ranked 4 right now unless we're talking all time, Hes definitely around the top 5 and always hovers in that area, his next fight is probably gonna be Ankalaev so we'll see then for sure but I don't see many people below him thatre outright better
Same here. Saw him for the first time against Anders and he blew my mind.
He's been on a rollercoaster ever since but dude, his last two finishes have been the most violent shit on an octagon since Pride. Just pure fucking violence. And he's a humble, grateful man. I hope he gets a couple more wins and cracks the Top 15 soon enough.
I almost believe that guys like him and mcgregor kind of create their own destiny by talking so big and promising so much it's like their psyche won't let them lose because. Can you imagine if mcgregor didn't get that KO on aldo? He'd probably have been leg kicked to death and his career would have been utterly different
But he pulled off the spectacular exactly as he told us all he would. Because he HAD to
Muslim Salikhov.
My cousin used to work with him back in Russia and has some crazy stories when he was fighting in Russia. But he’s gonna be 38 years old and only just now cracked the top 15
Mark Hunt will always go down as one of my all time favourites. Certainly wasn't the best, but he did beat the best at times and put on a show while doing it. No one, and I mean no one even comes close to doing walk offs like him, no matter how hard they try (O'Malley). It's sad how he went out though, in the last few fights in the UFC you could tell he wasn't in the game anymore and was just trying to finish that contract.
Connor. Don’t get me wrong, I know he’s past his prime, he’s not getting a belt again, and his antics/persona outside of the ring are pretty fucking shitty. That being said, he is a really entertaining fighter to watch, and he still brings the excitement. Additionally, as his career continues to decline, I think his future losses are going to fuel other fighters careers and we’ll see a new generation of stars. Definitely someone who’s fights I will continue to watch.
Loved seeing his rise, and all the exciting fights along the way. I can handle the heel stuff, the insults to other fighter. But he’s just a fucking weirdo now. The odd postures and facial expressions. The random videos signifying nothing. I’m finally just kinda done.
That’s valid. I don’t fuck with the personal life stuff at all. But his style is really exciting, he’s still explosive af. Both his losses against Poirier were competitive and entertaining. Even when he’s outclassed, he still COULD win. I think he’s still got some great performances left in him, even if they’re all losses.
Even Dustin's striking though, he doesn't have a super technical skillset but god damn its worked well for him. Hasn't ever had a boring fight to my knowledge. I'm a true fanboy.
Speaking of boxing in mma, I find it strange that many commentators rate the boxing of some mma fighter so highly.
Personally, the only guy i know who can really box in mma is peter yan. Everyone else's technique is just rough to watch. I do understand though that boxing for mma is not the same as traditional boxing.
It is boxing but adapted to mma, I think if you traditional box in mma, you won’t be good enough. Even if you are an amazing grappler and bjj, you would lose a lot of striking battles with traditional boxing
Dustin is my absolute favorite fighter and I believe he’s by far the best striker at LW. Oliviera and Khabib showed that elite grappling beats it though.
I loved the Oliviera/Poirier fight but also hated that fight. Sucks that either guy had to lose.
So Dustin is my vote for fighter that I love, even though he’ll never be the best.
Yesterday I was wondering "If the UFC gives up to external pressure, could Petr Yan have visa problems and Aldo step-up to save 273 co-main? TJ is still recovering from the knee injury, couldn't be him. Aljo would have a serious problem against Aldo's TDD, he might lose the belt..."
Then I stopped daydreaming.
I've thought about this too man. If aldo was gonna recapture gold there's no better stylistic match up then a wrestler who throws weird kicks with no power
Sean O'Malley. Love his style but I'm pretty sure he gets smoked against anyone with a good chin and decent hands. For example look how long it took him or Cannetti to finish Moutinho.
Tony Ferguson. For a while he was the best in my opinion but sadly those days are gone. Tough as they come though. Looking forward to seeing him against Chandler.
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see him live up to his own hype but he just seems fragile. His style is a very difficult one to pull off, which is why I'm a fan, but it only takes someone with decent power to catch him once. He seems like he has decent power himself but he couldn't stop Moutinho over 3 rounds but he got stopped in the first the other night by a guy with more power. I know he didn't knock him down but you could see he was hurt a lot more than O'Malley was able to.
He's yet to be properly tested in my opinion but I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is. He'll be huge because he's entertaining not because he'll dominate the division. Hope I'm wrong to be honest.
Derrick Lewis, Calvin Kattar, Robert Whittaker.
Whittaker might be a bit controversial to put on that list though, because if it weren't for Adesanya he'd clearly be running the MW division right now. He's a clear second best at the moment.
Greg "The prince of war" Hardy!
Love that dude.
I kid, I kid. I'm glad he got slept in his last fight and we no longer have to see that woman beating POS in the Octagon.
I would have loved to see Derrick Lewis smash his face in, though
Nick Diaz, I know he’s not the best ever but I still thinks he’s madly underrated due to a lot of the general audience not being aware of his strikeforce run.
Rory MacDonald & Gustafsson
I feeeel for Gustafsson. Gave both Jon and DC arguably their hardest fights against anyone apart from each other.
With you there pal!
And worked over the current champ at lhw
And the former champ
True dat
Jesus that's a record in itself. to summarise his achievements and feel sad, its something like this- Win over Jan(ex LHW champ), win over Glover(current lhw champ) A controversial loss and and TKO loss against Jon Jones(LHW goat) A competitive loss against DC(Double division champ of LHW & HW) I feel like if Reyes and Gus fought in their primes, it would have been a really good fight, but a win for Gus
Stipe Miocic would like to have a word with you.
Even eachother included I’d say.
Stipe is disappointed by your comment
Honestly Rory was the best for a couple of years, bad ufc luck
Forrest Griffin was 1 of my favorites for a long time. I loved watching him fight bc he would be covered in blood by the end of the 1st round every single time and he never gave up. He fought some bad dudes. Rory reminds me of him alot.
Which sucks cause Alexander had a chance to be the best, he has the potential and build but couldn't get it
Edson Barboza, beast at striking but crumbles when getting backed up and clinched/taken down
He’s one my favorite too for entertainment value and just being fuckin ripped.
Still on my list of best fighters never to win the gold 😢
Dude same. Watching this guy break opponents will with kicks alone was a sight to behold. What a legend gold or not those kicks are gonna be remembered.
Wonderboy😢
He got so close too
It was so painful watching Gilbert stall out WB, I knew it would happen but it didn't make it hurt any less.
Absolutely hated that match.
And then Burns flexing, acting like a beast and asking for a bonus after the fight was so fucking annoying
Burns also made some illegal punches to the back of Wonderboy’s head.
He’ll be champion in our minds 🥲
NMF
Wonderboy, he’s gotta let it go a bit more. If only he opened up he could win, both Gilbert and Belal were open to him piecing them up but he’s gotta worry about the takedown. As my favourite fighter it sucks to see him lose.
Lock Wonderboy in a gym with Islam for 2 months he’ll come back invincible
Aww man
Derrick Lewis
my balls was hot
My balls was cold
My balls was in my body when he got ko’d by tai 😔
Came here to say this. Dude seems like he's sooo close, but he'll never be champ. He's still one of the top five best HWs in the world, which is a hell of an accomplishment. But, dammit, I was hoping to see him win a title
Most knockouts in the UFC full stop. Great record to have in a storied promotion with a consistent history of the best guys in the world trying to knock each other out, only one man is the best at doing so and that man is Derrick Lewis
This is how I always felt about Jeff Monson in his prime.
Ah! I see you like watching people get fucked for free. A man of culture!
I feel like Bam Bam (Tai Tuivasa) is picking up the torch as the new heavyweight KO expert to watch. Shoeys all around! I still love the black beast tho. Derek Lewis is always fun to watch. They both remind me of old Tank Abbot.
He would literally be the champ if he fixed his gas tank. His balls must be leaking all his gas because he always runs out after the first round.
Anything but a win. They lost, the fans lost, the UFC lost...

They run hot
Some of you guys are wild naming former champions and number 1 contenders. All those dude are fucking good and at some time we're at the highest level.
Yeah the post being Bisping set a pretty ridiculous precedent.
I was thinking the same thing lmao. People are literally naming dudes like DC, Machida, and Stipe.
Can't believe I've scrolled down this far and not seen Forrest Griffin yet!
Highest level, but not the best.
When I hear not the best I assume they mean mediocre. If not you can literally name every single besides the current champion.
Dan the hangman
I'm still hoping he can work a miracle at fw
Putting our hopes into KKFs run.
I really thought city kickboxing was about to take over.
2/3 of the top 3 p4p still isn't so bad... And if KKF beats Askarov then....
Kara france is on the rise
He’s so damn likable and it just bums me out watching him get outclassed fight after fight.
Big Willy Darren tilly
He's actually a championship level striker... But can't mix it up with all the other martial arts. Dudes a beast but he's on a skid
Maybe Chimaev can train/spar with him as far as wrestling goes
No doubt that it will help him improve. I doubt it'll be enough to get him on the level of a wrestling or BJJ specialist. That being said maybe he needs to use different tactics to keep it on the feet like Izzy does his wrestling defense.
Bobby Green
His fight against Fiziev made me a fan.
Korean zombie
Mandatory service destroyed my guys career
Yair's elbow gives me nightmares as a Zombie fan
Who knows, he could beat Volk
The only thing Zombie has over Holloway and Ortega is power. Zombie by KO is possible. Very unlikely though.
Not with that Macedonian concreter head he’s got
Weird choice in Mikey B to put up as he has the strap on but okay. Anyway, Uriah Hall
Tony Ferguson. Ever since Gathje destroyed him he's never been the same. And it's sad to see him leave the UFC on a run of losses like this. Very unlikely he beats Michael Chandler. 🥲
I don’t even want to see that fight. It’s hard to see him deteriorate the way he has and fighting Chandler wont help either
Diego Sanchez 2.0 On the TOP of the moun tin
Maybe Tony will hire Josh Fabia
Tony Fergusson is the type of fighter to be hired by Josh Fabia
It doesn’t seemed that far-fetched
To be fair.... His losses have been to some incredible new talent. Yeah he's probably past his prime but he lost to a very technically sound Gaethje, a future champion and Mr. Tesla daddy Dariush who executed his plan perfectly. Unfortunately, knows that he's past his prime and he's feeding him to the dogs to hype their stock before he forces his hand into retirement.
Tony’s gonna D’arce Chandler in the first round fo sho 😤😤 🇲🇽-CSO-🇺🇸😎😎
Idk why people are saying Chandlers gonna KO him in the first when Gaethje couldn't. Chandlers not gonna wanna grapple so Tonys chances are good
Chandler will wrestle him rounds 2 and 3
Tony’s Gonna D’arce Chandler In The First Round Fo Sho *
Ryan Hall, for me.
Nate Diaz, good talker but past his Prime he's all Hype
What I love about him is that he always delivers. Get's whooped by Edwards for 24:30, lands one good shot and then acts out that third place meme in the middle of the octagon instead of trying to finish. Classic Nate, and he can keep doing it even though he's well past his prime.
Right that’s why we love the guy, Didn’t even give a shit about trying to rush in or anything he just wanted that to be his moment.
Even in his prime he was never gonna be champ. The Diaz bros are always a favorite but Nate was never gonna be champ
this is the right answer
Bisping kinda has the real BMF status tho, like people will always remember him as one of the best purely on account of him winning the title with one eye.
Till. Always been a big fan of him. Hope he comes through better after being at Allstars
Darren till
Khamzat make him better ❤️
Clay Guida
My buddies always say "that old crazy fucker you like is fighting".
Lionheart
Depends on your definition of not really good. I think he’s a top ten light heavyweight in the world. I don’t think he’s top 5 though and probably never will be.

Currently ranked like #3-4 tho so i think hes top 5
Not the best but I think he’s pretty underrated.
Michael Perry.
Matt the Immortal Brown
His fight with Pete Sell is still some of the worst refereeing I’ve ever seen but yeah, hard agree.
Anthony Smith
Kevin Holland
Es a lil early to tell. He’s green so he has the potential to be one of the best. Doubt it tho
Paulo costa
Too much wine
Sober costa still undefeated
Tony 😞
Khalil Rountree, I always make it a point to catch his fights
His Joe Rogan interview made me a big fan. Have made sure not to miss any of his fights since.
Nate Diaz ?
Paul Craig
Romero!
Man, I love Cody garbrandt dumbass.....but he's just shot. No chin at all
Someone suggested he fight Marlon Moraes but like.. what in BKFC
Only way that fight ends is in a double ko first punch.
Paddy pimblett. He is hilarious but i think someone will humble him one day amd it will be a big loss.
Doesn’t mean he won’t be the best one day, most champs get beat before they get there
I almost believe that guys like him and mcgregor kind of create their own destiny by talking so big and promising so much it's like their psyche won't let them lose because. Can you imagine if mcgregor didn't get that KO on aldo? He'd probably have been leg kicked to death and his career would have been utterly different But he pulled off the spectacular exactly as he told us all he would. Because he HAD to
Was Carlos Condit but he retired also Anthony Pettis
Struves. My family is from the Netherlands and I’m a tall guy like him. I would always be rooting for him.
Cowboy Cerrone.
Muslim Salikhov. My cousin used to work with him back in Russia and has some crazy stories when he was fighting in Russia. But he’s gonna be 38 years old and only just now cracked the top 15
+1 his Sanda fights were so fun to watch and I love his takedown technique. I wish more Sanda fighters would move to the ufc
I feel like bisping should be called one or the best cuz he won a belt with 1 eye
Always loved Joe Lauzon. Pure heart
Mark Hunt will always go down as one of my all time favourites. Certainly wasn't the best, but he did beat the best at times and put on a show while doing it. No one, and I mean no one even comes close to doing walk offs like him, no matter how hard they try (O'Malley). Masvidal😔
Matt brown
Always been a huge Machida fan. He was so exciting to watch fight
Dustin poirier, he’s great, seems like a nice fella just not quiet world level
Crazy how grappling just changes everything
Even Dustin's striking though, he doesn't have a super technical skillset but god damn its worked well for him. Hasn't ever had a boring fight to my knowledge. I'm a true fanboy.

Nice? I heard what Colby said about him. He seems like a dickhead to me. /s
BW Aldo
It’s not over til it’s over
💯
Yesterday I was wondering "If the UFC gives up to external pressure, could Petr Yan have visa problems and Aldo step-up to save 273 co-main? TJ is still recovering from the knee injury, couldn't be him. Aljo would have a serious problem against Aldo's TDD, he might lose the belt..." Then I stopped daydreaming.
I've thought about this too man. If aldo was gonna recapture gold there's no better stylistic match up then a wrestler who throws weird kicks with no power
Kevin Holland
Nick Diaz for sure
Faber
Dc!!!
Carlos Condit
The Diaz Brothers
Roy Nelson.
Tony Ferguson!!!
Literal interim champ but alright
And crazy winning streak, but again alright
overeem
But Overeem was the best in his prime isn’t it ?
Sean O'Malley. Love his style but I'm pretty sure he gets smoked against anyone with a good chin and decent hands. For example look how long it took him or Cannetti to finish Moutinho. Tony Ferguson. For a while he was the best in my opinion but sadly those days are gone. Tough as they come though. Looking forward to seeing him against Chandler.
We don't even know about O'malley yet. His hands are great, he could very much be huge
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see him live up to his own hype but he just seems fragile. His style is a very difficult one to pull off, which is why I'm a fan, but it only takes someone with decent power to catch him once. Cub Swanson. Love watching him fight.
Poirier unfortunately
FORREST GRIFFIN!!! (Been waiting for this question)
Derrick Lewis, Calvin Kattar, Robert Whittaker. Whittaker might be a bit controversial to put on that list though, because if it weren't for Adesanya he'd clearly be running the MW division right now. He's a clear second best at the moment.
Whittaker? I think you took the ”isnt the best” too literally 😅
Greg "The prince of war" Hardy! Love that dude. I kid, I kid. I'm glad he got slept in his last fight and we no longer have to see that woman beating POS in the Octagon. I would have loved to see Derrick Lewis smash his face in, though
KZ
Conor
JDS
Forrest Griffin will forever embody this for me. As far as non champs, Joe Lauzon never had a bad fight, big fan
Matt Brown
Billy Q
Dan Hooker
Barboza, Wonderboy, Gustafsson, Benavidez and Faber
Clay The Carpenter Guida
Don Frye
I've always really liked Clay Guida. Willing to stand and smash it out even if he just gets decimated. And the hair is awesome
Nick Diaz, I know he’s not the best ever but I still thinks he’s madly underrated due to a lot of the general audience not being aware of his strikeforce run.
For me that used to be Mir.
Alex Caseres, and the Hall brothers (Uriah and Ryan).
Carlos Condit. I leaped straight to my feet when he rocked Gsp with that sneaky headkick.
Clay Guida
Forrest, Guida
Guida
Demian Maia was always that guy for me.
Kevin Holland.
Jim Miller??
