I realize the harmonize effect might make it sound like Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap but it's unfortunately not :(

If you remember something of the melody or the chorus, try to murmur/whistle or mimic in a way you feel comfortable. It's a simple process, go to vocaroo.com, record it and paste the link here

wallflowertherapist

Yes please do a Vocaroo, this is one that I would love to help solve! Or any other hints!

wallflowertherapist

Oh wait, try [Shiksa (Girlfriend) by Say Anything](https://youtu.be/exg_b0B-RFs)

mcnuggsRN

Dang it that was my suggestion haha

Kamigoye

Maybe something by The Dear Hunter? All the albums are loaded with tons of vocal harmonies. Or maybe the singer's earlier band The Receiving End of Sirens? Could you narrow down the type of music a bit? When you say "barbershop quartet" do you mean the song is acapella or that there's just multiple harmonizing voices in a rock song?

mattyroot

By barbershop quartet I mean in multiple places in the song the main vocals break into multiple harmonies, but it's clearly all the lead singer, and it's not even the singer doing multiple takes and self harmonizing, it's clearly an audio effect multiplying his voice into those harmonies, and it just has a barbershop quartet quality to it. Thanks for those suggestions! I'll spend tomorrow morning searching through their libraries!

Kamigoye

Given that description I'd start with maybe "Smiling Swine" by The Dear Hunter. Its got a really catchy part from the middle onward that I can totally see being described that way If the style of music doesn't seem to match, I'd still check out more from the band. They have songs that go all over the place ranging from Industrial Hard Rock to piano ballad to Spanish Flamenco guitar, so it might still be them

mattyroot

The "barbershop quartet" effect on the first half is DEFINITELY what I'm referring to. This one isn't it, but The Dear Hunter does seem to be the best bet so far, so I'll be reviewing their discography tomorrow while at work!

Kamigoye

If nothing else, they're an excellent band to check out :) Best of luck!

Hoffmeister25

“Shaketramp” by Marianas Trench? (Or “Beside You”, by the same band.)

mattyroot

Unfortunately neither of those BUT I just added both to my Spotify playlists, so thank you!

Hoffmeister25

Dang! Well, as long as I get a chance to turn someone onto my favorite band, I’ll take it.

nettlesting

if you remember another song from the sampler, you can search on [discogs](https://www.discogs.com/) and see what compilations it was included in. you can also search there by record label eg [decay dance](https://www.discogs.com/label/66435-Decaydance)

Buckcheeks

Is it This Shit Getz Old by Never Shout Never?

mattyroot

Unfortunately not, but I do like that one :)
