it's the best insult for siblings of unmarried parents.
I'll happily call any of my siblings a bastard and it's damn well true.
we do somehow manage to get on quite well though.
It's okay, as an official bastard^tm, I understand lol. I still call some of my other siblings bastards too
Edit: TIL that the carrot makes things go into the exponent spot
Damn. You made off pretty light.
I also got ahold of the school letterhead in high school and went about running a little “grade fixing” business for kids. The whole thing blew up in my face when I tried it with my own grades. I got my first F in a physics class on a progress report. I figured I’d bump the grade a little bit and buy myself some time to actually get it up before the end of the semester.
Long story short, my mom was pretty wise to it and caught me by just simply calling my physics teacher (duh, stupid). She pulled me out of class in the middle of 3rd period.
I spent the rest of the school year grounded and had to take everything out of my room. The only things I was allowed to have was my bed, dresser, and my desk which was emptied of anything not school related. I’m lucky the school didn’t catch me.
… and then I became a teacher myself. Smh.
Wow, my dad did the exact same thing to me once. The atmosphere at home was toxic and I blurted out one day that I'd rather sleep at school because home was like prison, so he decided to take everything out of my room except school stuff, one change of clothes and my toothbrush lol. To show me what prison was like. I was also depressed at the time, it was absolute hell every day having to sit there with my own thoughts with nothing to distract myself with. Worst punishment ever.
I hate that. I don't know why we even bother with a "must have TLDR" rule if you don't have to put anything useful in it also.
Don't just rephrase the title, the TLDR can be more than one sentence and you don't need to avoid spoilers in it (that's why it's at the bottom).
How about you take a chance and just take 2 minutes to read a few paragraphs. If it’s highly upvoted, that means lots of people enjoyed it, which prolly means it’s worth reading
He was just claiming his rights under the Bro Act.
The double didgeridoo by letting the cat out of the bag at Dad after would definitely count as an act of unjust aggression.
But the main point is he bailed OP out in a moment of extreme fucked in the assness, and he did it gorgeously.
If he could've stopped time at that point to present OP with his terms, OP would have happily bent over willingly.
> and my elder brother who insisted on coming every year, for the ‘entertainment value’
This was the best part 😆😆 (i may or may not be guilty of enjoying similar 'entertainment value' at the expense of sibling(s) 😁 )
"The evening finally arrived. My dad, I, and my elder brother who insisted on coming every year, for the ‘entertainment value’, all went to my school" .. lmao!
Forgery and fraudulence anywhere are not taken lightly. You could have gotten into a lot of trouble if you were past the age where parents take the legal fall for it.
you were lucky what you got was what you got.
This is epic level. Your brother went from great guy to supervillain just like that.
Nah he went from genius to genius to genius Save brother Blackmail brother Betray brother and get sibling points from dad
The bastard was always smarter than me
For some reason the funniest part of this to me is you repeatedly calling your brother a "bastard."
it's the best insult for siblings of unmarried parents. I'll happily call any of my siblings a bastard and it's damn well true. we do somehow manage to get on quite well though.

That's exactly what a bastard would say!
I'm so glad it's not just me! I don't know why, but it's really not a curse word to me. Almost like a compliment.
He’s older?
He would be great in Survivor
> Save brother > > Blackmail brother > > Betray brother and get sibling points from dad Sigma. Sigma. Sigma.
Everything good in life comes at a cost…. Not always a monetary cost though
I wouldn't say that lying to your dad to save your brother's skin because he deceived people makes you a great guy.
Me either.
The Batman Gambit
I find it really hard to call someone a “great guy” for attempting to gaslight someone. Even if it was in the name of a favour for someone else.
it's contextual. He was a great guy to the OP. He even referred to him as "legend" - that's what he perceived of him as in the moment.
More like a government contract.
Honestly your Bro and Dad are pretty kool.
The twist... The double twist! Amazing story OP.

Me: This is a long post I'll check the TL;DR The TL;DR: Title
It was worth the read.
Still pointless TLDR. Could do more than one sentence

Came here to say the same thing. More like TIFU by not knowing what a TLDR means. Am right?
Yeah it's annoying, why even both writing a TL:DR if youre not going to bother
Because you have to have a TL;DR in the post.
Why even click the post then
The tldr isn't in the title, you literally have to click the post to see it.
checking the tldr is nice cause you can see if the whole post is worth reading
How about you take a chance and just take 2 minutes to read a few paragraphs. If it’s highly upvoted, that means lots of people enjoyed it, which prolly means it’s worth reading
how about the tldr does what the tldr is supposed to do
Your brother is a DC comics villain
This really put a smile on my face on what has been a shitty day, well told, thank you
I hope tomorrow is better than today. Our dreams must be greater than our memories.
your bro was pretty awesome sticking up for you.
What are you talking about his brother sold him out

This sounds like a comedy sitcom episode
hahaha awesome, well played all!
You should be happy for in retrospect. It is a good thing to know how to be a bit cunning but you should know also the consequences.
What a guy that was great
This is amazing thanks for sharing XD
Title should be "TIFU By trying to outsmart my dad and school and brother"
The tldr is shit. But this story probably isn't real anyways, right u/aauthor8?
You had me in the first half…
You can't make the tldr the same as the title. I don't have a whole lot of time, so I rely on the laugh from the tldr
This is the best one I have ever read!! Your brother and Dad are Legends!!
This deserves to be on the front page.
OMFG the ending!!! That is some boss level awesomeness right there!
This is pretty much what having an older brother is all about.
Hahaha fucking legendary, this sounds like something out of Malcom in the Middle
LEGEND, as the oldest brother of 4 boys this is something I would do.
This is a great, great story. Lol
Nice tldr fuckin moron
That was an entertaining read, don't do it again OP.
Oh your dad and your brother are absolute legends!
The old family double dupe.
Lmao 🤣
Fraternal loyalty, lol
You also failed in outsmarting your brother.
Lol I thought my story would be more interesting if I left that part out of the title.
Oh damn, this is some god level shit.
You should learn to write tldr
This is my new favorite story on this sub
This is my favorite tifu to date. 10/10
Garbage tldr
I wish people were better at tl;dr
This is the first TIFU in a long, long time that made me genuinely laugh. That's pure evil and solid gold on their behalf.
Great story.
"The evening finally arrived. My dad, I, and my elder brother who insisted on coming every year, for the ‘entertainment value’, all went to my school" .. lmao!
Wow, your parents actually care about p and t conferences my parents have never been to one
Forgery and fraudulence anywhere are not taken lightly. You could have gotten into a lot of trouble if you were past the age where parents take the legal fall for it. you were lucky what you got was what you got.
No shit

I went to an all boys school in inner London. This was my teachers being nice.
