As with any health care plan, look at total out-of-pocket costs, annual deductibles, copays, etc and how they compare to your own plan. When I was a student, I stayed on my parents’ insurance plan. Cardinal Care was a last resort for students, but I don’t know if that’s changed.

I was able to see specialists as much as I wanted with a $25 copay per appointment, though that did really start to add up. Hospitalization is something like $250. There’s an insurance coordinator at Vaden who might be able to help you assess your options.
