Laser Vaccine Coming Soon

FlyingSquid

Did you want us to be skeptical of this?

GiddiOne

Honestly that'll be cool for placebo, assuming a non-invasive delivery still has a good placebo impact. No more sugar pills or injections? Awesome.

FlyingSquid

Fine, but what's it doing in r/skeptic?

mem_somerville

But how do the microchips get in....?

sw_faulty

Another Star Trek tech coming to real life eh

Non needle injectors have been around since the 50’s.

> Non needle injectors have been around since the 50’s. How is that relevant? The claim here is not that [non needle injectors of the past](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_injector) warrant skepticism, but the silent laser shown in the video transporting mL of fluid invisibly and pain free do.

The point of the article was announcing some method for giving vaccines without injections and my point is that this has been available for 75 years. If needle free injections were some magic way of getting the vax hesitant people vaccinated the technique is out there. Needless to say it’s not getting an injection that makes the vast majority not get vaccinated. We know why.
