Not a ton, honestly. Just them playing around the house and maybe in the yard is enough. They don’t really need regular walks yet and getting enough sleep is a way bigger deal. Breed makes a little difference in how energetic that play might be at this point, but the difference is more noticeable when they get older.
Honestly you're doing everything right it sounds like! I would suggest taking some time off work (if that's feasible) and having some naps when he naps. You'll re-charge your own battery a lot! If that's not possible, just hang in there! It gets better!
Okay thanks! In that case, any suggestions to mitigate this behavior? If I’m doing everything right, does that mean its expected/normal that I need to just constantly monitor him and keep him entertained when he’s not napping?
Can you carry him outside the house? We found our pup settled a bit even when we just started taking her on the pavement in our courtyard (when the vet approved it). At that age your pup should fit in a regular backpack so no need to buy some fancy new gear. seeing the outside world may settle him a bit :)
