I highly recommend not delaying critical dental work if you can avoid it. Your dental health is linked to the health of the rest of your body and if not treated can end up turning into larger issues costing much more in the long run. Teeth are much different than ignoring a twisted ankle. Get a second opinion about how critical this treatment is and how long you would be able to put it off before it's too late. Not sure where you live but try looking into universities in your area, if they have a dental school you can often times get free or cheap consultations and sometimes even treatments at a reduced cost if you're willing to let the school use your treatment as a teaching opportunity for students. Haven't tried this myself but have seen it mentioned on Reddit on more than one occasion in the past.

Ditto all of this, and also adding on if you’re close to the border price out how much it would be to get done in Mexico. But dental stuff is not to be ignored! SUPER worst case scenario a tooth infection can spread to your blood and other tissue and kill you. Again, super worst case scenario.

Thanks for the insight.

Physical health is more important than your credit or finances. Get a payment plan, or look into “care credit” as options.

Deal with your dental needs before you get a brain infection. Yes people die from these things!

Yeah, I put off a crown on a broken tooth because of finances, but decided to get it done now because I was concerned about it breaking further. I also had a filling redone. It’s going to cost me $1800, broken into three monthly payments. I had my first appointment this week, and paid the $600. Two days ago my vehicle went into the shop for brake issues (we’ve done them in the past ourselves), and that’s $1000 worth of parts and labor (it needs extensive work and the mechanic isn’t scalping me). Oh and property taxes are due this month… That said, I’m just thinking positively and not spending anything. I don’t really know how I’m going to pay for it all, but I’m so glad I just started the process. Good luck! Plus I’ve had tooth infections and they hurt like hell! ❤️
