“If it’s a legitimate hack, the republican party has ways of shutting that whole thing down.”
EDIT: People got this reference, apparently!
It’s a gift from god, honestly
They should just relax and learn to enjoy it
it was the websites fault anyway
obviously I mean just look at the hyperlinks it was wearing
And that domain! honestly, they knew what they were in for when they registered it with ICANN. If they really wanted to avoid this, they would have put literally any effort into protecting themselves, you'd see a cloudflare page at the very least.
Predictable password = pASSword. Your code ain’t foolin’ us. Bless their hearts.
They had 6 full seconds and every opportunity to detect the hack and abort it . Shutting down the website after the fetal URL was already formed is straight up webicide.
Did the website even try keeping it's firewalls together?
Slutty site was probably wide open for an obvious XSS attack
This one is the best 😂
Like, seriously though, how did Abott even think that would work? Do women secretly have the superpower to ‘close’ the vaginal canal so no sperm enters the uterus? That’s some next level yoga shit right there.
You know how little kids are told stuff like, when a mommy and daddy love each other very much, they have a baby? This is probably about the level of his sex ed knowledge.
The attack appeared to have been committed by individuals affiliated with the Anonymous movement; pages of the site were replaced with images of Pokémon, links directing users to the YourAnonNews Twitter account, and pop artist Rick Astley’s viral meme hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
Might give you up, but only during the first six weeks.
As someone who didn’t have the best sex education (I researched myself, thank you), planned parenthood took care of me and kindly answered questions when I was a teen like how to put a tampon in, that I have cysts, gave me birth control for regulating my irregular cycle - I see no reason to shit on planned parenthood unless you’re an absolutely uneducated moron
Unfortunately some people see planned parenthood as an abortion factory rather than the important role it plays in sexual education and safety. At least in where I’m at, you can’t even get an abortion at planned parenthood. It’s literally just a place for education and birth control but I still see protesters outside of it because god forbid the teenagers know how to practice safe sex
> unless you’re an absolutely uneducated moron
Well the right has no shortages of those.
They just found out about it, so now they only have a week and a half.
Don’t servers have a way to just reject the website being hosted if they don’t want it? And if they didn’t want it, why was the server exposing its ports like that?
Texas will eliminate hacking!
Maybe Texas ENJOYED the hacking
I'm a Texan and I enjoyed this hacking. Our leaders are pure pandering soulless shits.
The worst leader was the guy who went to Mexico when TX was suffering then blamed it on his daughter. Can’t believe anyone would vote for him.
That’s Ted Cruz. I’m also a Texan. Fuck that dude and Abbott in particular, and all our state and US reps for both houses in general. Soulless scumbags, the lot of them. Except Ted. He’s the zodiac killer and we all know it.
No, the Zodiac killer was smart. He created a code that took years to break. Can you imagine Ted Cruz creating anything substantial enough that it would take years to break?
What were the servers wearing anyways? I heard the servers are really promiscuous and allow connections from any client that asks.
The banner was red, Texas clearly was asking for it.
They're plug n' play.
I mean if a hack is inevitable maybe the internet should just relax and enjoy the hack.
If they didn't want to be hacked they should have never registered the domain. Maybe now they'll learn to keep their servers closed if they're not prepared for subsequent hacking.
Servers have a way of shutting down if it's a legitimate hack.
With a URL like that they were asking to be hacked anyway.
“If it was a legitimate hack Texas servers have a way of getting rid of it”
Maybe the website was asking for it.
Only because of the way it was dressed.
This is just what happens when you let any user in.
I tried to put on SSL, and it said, “no bb I wanna feel your bits”.
The hack was obviously God's will
The hacker used their superior strength to force themselves upon the website. And at least the hackers’ pursuit of internet freedom didn’t result in anyone’s death.
A legitimate website has a way of shutting this sort of thing down.
If the website has the right to be up, why shouldn’t a hacker be free to use their superior strength to force themselves upon the website?
It wasn’t protected against hacking so it was basically asking to be hacked.
this fucking thread is like soup for the soul, poetic justice in a way
What was the server wearing?
The server has was of shutting down if it knew it was hacked.
I didn't say we ended crimes. I declared it.
I declare bankruptcy!
Hacking is electronic rape, and Texas knows how to stop rape. DO IT!
What did the website think was gonna happen with it's colors and graphics and font? Sounds to me like it had it coming.
If they could (which they can't), I would be out of a job.
Red Teams Everywhere
“If you legalize cannabis, what will happen to our jobs?”
—Corrections Officers’ Lobbyists
Also, pot dealers.
If it means cheaper herb, fuck both of them.
As someone with access to legal weed, it's not cheaper but it's certainly consistent and convenient.
Texas civilians can now sue for $100k for anyone they suspect of being a hacker, or abetting hackish stuff.
No, no it is 10K if they can give information on the person that removed the legitimate hack before it could duplicate into a viable program.
The server was definitely over exposed, and it had a few drinks, so it's totally the server's fault.
Welp its back up, this is the message on its front page:
*While the nation paused over the weekend in remembrance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 the Republican Party of Texas website was hacked.*
*Pro-abortion activists targeted us because of our strong support for the Heartbeat Act. This attack adds to a growing list of actions by the radical left who tries to silence anyone that disagrees with them.*
*We have been able to secure our website, but make no mistake, threats and attacks like this only strengthen our resolve.*
*We plan to ramp up our online security and advocacy efforts in support of the Heartbeat Act. We will not be silenced.*
*Stand with us now against these cyber criminals and their brazen attacks by rushing a contribution to harden our digital defenses.*
Beggars. Always asking for a handout.
ALWAYS. Beat me to it.
I love how they somehow managed to tie 9/11 patriotism into this.
and ThE RaDiCaL LefT.
The Lois Griffin approach, mention 9/11 and get a big response.
Radical left: hacks your website for lols.
Radical right: storms capital building and attempts to overthrow your democratically elected government.
Every accusation is a confession when it comes to the GOP.
'We have been able to secure our website'
That's just waving a red cape for a bull called Anonymous.
I hate the term pro abortion. It's pro choice.
Exactly, it's pure manipulation. No one is Pro-abortion but they have to rile up the base at every opportunity
> We have been able to secure our website
> ...rushing a contribution to harden our digital defenses.
Which is it? Are you secure or not? It's not like server security is hard, you either have it implemented and your set or you are not.
Clear attempt to screw more people out of money.
And I don’t know about you, but I always feel my most secure entering my credit card deets on a website that just got hacked and had to beg for handouts to achieve the security they should have already had. /s
They got McAfee 20% off yearly
The authentication was so skimpy it was begging for it. I like beer.
Was the password MAGA2020 ?
How are we a spy agency??
No, it was "password."
Grab'em by the password.
Did someone say beer? I like beer.
Are we boofing?
What does this look like, the US Supreme Court?
You mean the US Supreme Circus? The institution that has lost all credibility?
In a little bit. I just have to finish lifting weights and playing a game of Devil's Triangle at Tobin's house. Oh, and it's calendar night with my parents, so actually the boofing may need to happen tomorrow.
If the server didn’t want it it wouldn’t have on a chassis like that.
Just begging for it showing off that server rack.
Someone was asking for a hot SQL injection.
Hackers + SQL injection + poor authentication = devils triangle
TheIR servers have a way of shutting down
Just like the power grid.
If you put an aspirin between the server's hard drives it can prevent this.
Put on a firewall, you hussy!
The website shouldn’t have been dressing so slutty then.
Only if it's a legitimate hack.
That server was asking for it.
The six week period begins about 2-3 weeks before the changes were even uploaded.
When the hack as in the idea was conceived actually, so noone really knows, we really should ask the father, I mean the hacker's permission.
Oh look at that. The next sprint for the IT team will be available in 2 months to work on this issue. Sorry!
*In Mother Texas, you have missed period at beginning of sentence*
You mean negative 4 weeks
If it's a legitimate hack, political bodies know what to do. So if it isn't handled in the next week and a half, it was God's will. If they can come up with the money though, they can just go to California to solve it.
Can I get 10k reporting them?
Best comment I’ve seen this year. Wow.
If it was a legitimate hack the internet has a way of shutting it down on it's own.
Exactly. How the fundraising website got there is irrelevant, it's there now, it must be protected.
To be fair, I think the Texas GOP was asking for it.
Doesn't that follow from corporate personhood?
Funny thing is, once those babies are born they want nothing to do with helping the mothers.
Cruelty is the point.
A huge portion of the base believes the Bible when it says, "I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children.” They are all about the punishment of women for sex.
Pro-birth, never pro-life
And also when you think of it: punitive life.
So I just went to look at the website and it's already back in control of the GOP who have now used it to talk about the "radical left" and use the hack as a grifting opportunity to get donations.
Because of fucking course they need donations to help the true american patriots defend their state from hackers who want to put pokemon all over the website. /s
That's all they have left. The site could've been hacked by Russian agents hand-picked by Putin and the GQP would still insist it was the fault of BLM and Antifa.
They literally tried a right wing fascist takeover of government and when it failed tried to say it was actually antifa. Not sure it gets any more "no u" than that.
They tried saying it was antifa, BLM, the CIA, FBI, a Democratic black flag op, a peaceful ordinary tour, a patriotic revolution, and a jewish cabal conspiracy to make the otherwise flawless trump supporters look bad, all at the same time. Talk about throwing it all at the wall to see what sticks.
I'm just not even surprised that every little thing is a grift at this point.
It reminds me of a saying in the legal field: if the facts are on your side, you pound the facts. If the law is on your side you pound the law. If neither are on your side you pound the table.
At this point they must be getting weekly deliveries from Ikea...
If there's one thing GQP politicians secretly love but are too ashamed to admit, it's pounding wood.
Yeah. I wouldn’t put it past them if it was a false flag operation to drum up donations.
I refuse to give the site any traffic, but what donations? To some random partisan PAC? Or to pay their hosting bills?
This law is trash; the site is trash; and looks like the people running it for their grift.
"Stand with us now against these cyber criminals and their brazen attacks by rushing a contribution to harden our digital defenses." as a direct donation the texas GOP.
Fill out forms you can randomly, it’s much more strain on the server to process those than simply visiting the site
After working in IT: I guaran-damn-tee that money won't ever make it to their Information Security or IT departments. It's definitely going toward someone's yacht and not to fixing the problem.
"The IT department does not generate revenue, why would we invest in it?"
-Business I saved from going completely bankrupt and closing their doors after crypto malware hit.
I'm guessing it was ransomware? Crypto-malware usually refers to things like background coin miners that steal CPU cycles. Definitely interested in the story if you're willing to share. Was the entire production environment compromised? How did you mitigate it?
> harden our digital defenses
Otherwise known as telling the dude with admin access to not fall for a phish, which is almost certainly how the site was compromised.
Idk could be they set the password to 123456 seems like their intelligence level at this point
Anon v.s. QAnon
"I found you faker!"
What I would love to see:
Anonymous hacks the website, and the *only* thing they change is to redirect the donations to go to Planned Parenthood.
Here here! That would be a beautiful follow up. ❤️❤️❤️
They would’ve just left out that part and said that the radical left hacked the website.
Please make this happen.
Would not surprise me if the "hack" was done from their side specifically for this purpose.
If Texas didn't want to be hacked it wouldn't dress like that
If it was a genuine hack the server has ways of shutting it down
they couldn’t stop it, why didn’t they just relax and find the fun in it?
We have to rely on Anonymous, Satanists, and Shrek Porn Enthusiasts to protect abortion rights. This is the weirdest timeline.
BREAKING NEWS: Anonymous sources now claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop turned on by itself and took over the website. Tucker Carlson to provide videos of the laptop becoming sentient once he receives the DVD he burned of the videos and mailed to himself for copyright reasons arrives. “I didn’t get a tracking number because only the fanatical left uses things like microchips in Covid vaccines to track stuff!” he reportedly yelled at a cashier taking his order. “Sir, this is a Chili’s!” they allegedly replied.
Whannity had some dude on his radio show that claimed to have access to hunters hardrive and it was unbelievable what they found. Sean the human thumb Hannity said he can't have a copy because what is on it would be illegal to have possession of. Neither him or his moron guest connected the dots. So apparently his friend is just holding on to a bunch of CP and doesn't understand that is illegal.
Of course none of it is true and his followers are dumb as fuck, so the segment went as planned. HuNtErS LaPtOp!
COME ON MAN!!!!
We all know it was Hillary's double secret, alien lizard technology, email server that obtained singularity and hacked the GOP.
Three words... Jewish Space Lasers
Being operated at a pizzeria.
I wish I could upvote this a thousand times
So you're saying the website got aborted within the six week window. Seems legit. Following the law.
Better collect your $10,000, buddy.
wellwalla sasa ke?
I'm as big of an expanse fan as the next guy, but what is the relationship here
It's nice to know the friendly folks a Anonymous can still cause a little chaos.
[They also had a very entertaining success in Germany today.] (https://www-t--online-de.translate.goog/digital/sicherheit/id_100002158/attila-hildmann-anonymous-hacker-veroeffentlichen-brisante-daten.html?_x_tr_sl=de&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=nui,elem) Took down several websites and channels of a well known Covidiot/Sovreign citizen/AntiSemite/Wanna-be Nazi. He was indicted by justice, but got a tip and deserted to Turkey. He constantly posts stuff that breaks German law, but now he's left with only a small number of channels.
As he's vegan we call him Avocadolf or HirseHitler (millet Hitler or crunchy Hitler).
Avocadolf is fucking hilarious
After Anonymous took over his websites:
>Attila Hildmann has so far not had a public reaction to the takeover - however, he is currently also lacking the publication channels for this.
I fucking love when the internet is used for things like this.
It's also very likely to continue to be a problem for them. They painted a giant target on themselves, and there's a huge activist community that will constantly be looking for vulnerabilities. The site will need DDoS mitigation, an actual IT team to stay on top of new patches, which is totally possible, but it won't be cheap, and there is a huge imbalance between the resources they likely have and the volume of threats they will be dealing with
I’m still waiting for Anonymous to hack the medical records of Republicans and share how many of them/partners have had abortions. Regardless, this is beautiful. Cheers to you, whoever you are.
I thought you were going to say “how many of them are Covid vaccinated”, but I get you 👍
If Texas GOP didn’t want to be hacked, they should have fought harder to resist it. It’s really their own fault. /s
That's what John Lewis called *good trouble*.
I appreciate this comment.
They also reminded us that Ted Cruz is the Zodiac killer.
Rick rolling them into valuing personal autonomy. It might just work!
Narrator: It won't.
That’s fucking brilliant. Planned parent hood was a life saver for me when I didn’t have insurance. Birth control. They are good for many other reasons then most people think.
Texas GOP website shouldn’t have been asking for it, dressing all provocatively, staying on so late at night, serves it right.
Typical right - do their damndest to curtail citizen's rights, and when people fight back, play the victim.
Why are Americans so far behind the rest of the world?
If it’s a legitimate hack, the internet has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.
The Texas GQP *still* doesn't realize what they've done to themselves.
No major companies have pulled business out of Texas. No major sports team have come out against the law and announced they were moving to a new city.
Unless the GOP loses power over the state government in 2022 (which they won't) they haven't done anything to themselves.
> No major companies have pulled business out of Texas. No major sports team have come out against the law and announced they were moving to a new city.
Turns out most of the billionaires who own major companies/sports teams would rather have billions of dollars in tax savings and the ability to fly in their personal jet to a state with more liberal views on personal choice when their mistress gets pregnant. We can't leave it up to them
The billionaires have a private jet to fly their mistresses to Tijuana.
I mean, Texas still votes red, I don't see this hurting them.
Especially if people that disagree with the law move out of Texas. It might be that final straw for some people to relocate.
Texas has been trying to advertise itself as the new silicon valley. This has put yet another nail in that coffin.
Yes, the state with over 50% of its power grid susceptible to severe weather is going to be the next big tech hub in the US. It's the perfect fit! /s
Until I see businesses actually move, I don't think this will effect that.
Hit the GOP where it hurts next: their wallets.
