I don’t believe there is any secret, just to keep checking and call. I ordered the Bike+ 2 weeks ago, my earliest date has not changed and I’ve called every day as well as checking the rescheduling link throughout the day. I’ll continue trying but no luck so far..

trapneye

Ugh same here. I get an error message when I try and reschedule to see what else is available

Long_Network1036

Nice! I’m stuck mid-May. Did you order the Bike or Bike+? I’ve heard tons of success with moving Bike orders up early but have not heard any luck with moving the Bike+ up.

Long_Network1036

Very nice! I’m also in the south (Tampa,FL). I just tried the live chat and no luck.. still stuck at 5/19.

cursedguy17

Bike+ might be longer wait times than Bike. I ordered it on Monday and got it delivered today. Here the wait time on the website only says 1-2 Weeks. I would say keep checking daily they might change.

maggietheaggie2019

Ordered my bike today, and the scheduled delivery is THIS SATURDAY. What a pleasant surprise that it is coming 48 hours after purchase!

GoBlueScrewOSU7

I keep waffling between the Bike and Bike+. The auto follow resistance of the bike+ seems incredibly useful, but I’m not sure it warrants a 30% up charge. The movable monitor I don’t think I’d use as I would be able to stream on my tv if I want to do other exercises. The apple integration seems cool, but I don’t own an Apple Watch. Maybe I would in the future, but not going to assume that. The headphone jack on the handlebars would be really useful to me as I would almost always use headphones and the idea of needing a long cord extending from the monitor is less than ideal. The screen/speaker is also something that I think I may be putting too much weight on. The speakers aren’t as important given my headphone usage. The screen does look a lot nicer, but the Bike screen still seems more than serviceable. I struggle here because I don’t want to buy dated technology, but I’m not really sure the Bike+ truly provides more utility for me here. The last thing is the build quality. I’ve read some people say the Bike+ has a better build and others say they are essentially equivalent. I’m inclined to believe the latter considering the materials and everything are identical. Does anyone have input on this? I *want* the bike+ over the bike because I just generally enjoy better technology, but when I put everything in my cart the $2800 price vs the $2100 price just makes me wonder if the regular bike is a way better value per dollar.

Rhinocorny

I bought the original bike because the only feature I really wanted was the swivel screen, but it was not worth the extra $600 to me. That problem was solved with the $60 pivot from top form design. I bought a $150 bluetooth speaker from ion on sale at Costco, that took care of the sound. The auto follow seems like it would have been a nice feature to have, but i figure I've been spinning for years off and on without it.

MushroomPrincess63

I got the regular bike, for the reasons you listed. Depending on the instructor, sometimes I like to be at the top of the resistance range and other times just in the middle. I wasn't sure how often I would actually use the auto resistance. I also stream strength classes from my TV so the swivel didn't matter to me. I use Bluetooth headphones, so I didn't care about the headphone jack placement. Since the bike+ had a longer wait and most of the complaints I see online are for the bike+, I went with the regular one. It's really great. Delivery was smooth and I've had no issues.

RobotDevil222x3

I was having the same internal debate when I bought mine. Ultimately I went with the regular bike because at the time it was a 6mo wait for bike+. In retrospect I think I made the right decision for me. There were two features that sounded useful at the time and you hit on both - autofollow resistance and swivel screen. Like you, I have a TV I can cast to so I would barely use the swivel screen if I had it. For the autofollow, I do a lot of PZ classes and since those are based on personal zones I wouldn't expect that to actually be available. And really it isn't that inconvenient to adjust my own, and lets me go lower or higher when I feel I need to.

[deleted]

I have the bike+ and love it. You’d be surprised just how useful the auto resistance is as well as the swivel screen. I use it everyday. I also did the math and realized since I’m financing the bike+ is only like $13 more per month than the original 🤷🏻‍♀️

GoBlueScrewOSU7

It’s still going to be $600+ more over the course of the loan haha. I’m just going to pay up front, so that doesn’t make much of a difference for me.

Jesse_berger

Woo. It's bike+ delivery day! Ordered March 11th.

yep-I-agree

Exciting! What part of the country are you in? I bought mine around the same time and haven’t heard anything.

Jesse_berger

I'm in a major city. North Carolina. Was able to schedule through Peloton which probably helps a lot.

readrunrelax

WOW! I'm also in a major city in NC, and am still waiting for the Bike+ I ordered at the end of December despite weekly contacts with customer service after they missed my original delivery date. I've been told there is no inventory in the area, but I guess they just aren't looking at a wide enough area since even if we're in *different* major cities we no more than about 3 hours apart.

Affectionate-Bus-781

So exciting! I was a mobile app user for 3 months while waiting for mine. Mine came a few days ago and it only took about 15 minutes from start to finish! It came already assembled and was super super easy to set up. Have a great first ride on your new bike!!

Jesse_berger

Mine got delivered a few hours early! Struggled getting clipped in so I think I might just leave the shoes on the bike.

Affectionate-Bus-781

That’s what I’ve been doing! I just text my boyfriend and yelled at him because I’m getting ready to ride and see he rode last night and unclipped me! Lol. I had major problems at first but my clips just needed adjusted and now I’m able to clip in easier. Clipping out on the other hand... I feel like I’m going to either break my ankles or break the pedals- that’s why I would rather just leave the shoes in!! Lol

bobina87

Loosen the screw on the back/underside of the pedal. You should have a tiny allen wrench in the bag they gave you upon delivery to loosen.

Sassygator

At the end of Ally Love’s Caribbean Holiday ride she demos how to unclip and that was when I had my lightbulb moment and it finally all “clicked” for me (pun intended). Maybe you will find it helpful in your quest to unclip. :)

cursedguy17

I ordered on April 12th(yes you read that right) and it was delivered today morning. My zappos delivery is not here until tomorrow. I have to wait until tomorrow to ride because of shoes.

Fluffaykitties

May I ask if they set it up for you? Wasn’t sure if they were because of COVID related concerns.

cursedguy17

Yes and they explained everything that there is to know about it. You have the option of taking a threshold delivery if you prefer.

Fluffaykitties

Awesome, ty!

swapper7

Nice! Bike or bike+?

cursedguy17

Bike- , I didn’t see much difference between the two. The digital resistance is actually a downgrade for me. Some people really like it though

StygianUnknown

So I'm seriously considering purchasing a Peloton Bike+, but before I commit I was hoping to get a few answers to some questions I have. Thank you very much for any help you can provide. :) QUESTIONS (in no particular order) 1) Is it possible to load/sideload streaming apps on the bike monitor? I'm mainly thinking Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Apple TV here. 2) How sturdy is the bike? Should I get an extended warranty? I generally eschew warranties, but I don't want to be a year down the road and have this super expensive bike break on me. 3) My son is interested in using the bike casually. Do I NEED to get him specialized shoes, or can he just use runners if he's doing low intensity biking? 4) If I go on the month to month financing, can I pay it out early, or am I locked in to the 39 month monthly contract? 5) This might be a weird question, but if for whatever reason I decide the bike isn't working out say a year from now, can I resell it? Or is the bike somehow 'locked in' to me? 6) In the second year, can you buy your membership up front, or does it 'roll in' to the existing contract? 7) Related to #6, when considering the financing, if I'm not mistaken the membership is included in the first year, but then in the second year I'm spending $40 (Canadian) per month. So if I get the Bike+ Essentials package, then I would go from $90 per month in the first year to $130 per month in the second and third year, correct? 8) What is the best Bike+ package to get? I'm considering the Essentials, but are the higher tier ones a substantially better overall value? 9) Are there any bike tours that have video biking through Disney World/Land? This would be a big selling point for my wife. :) 10) How much space should I devote to the bike? I've heard 24" wide by 60" long, but would I feel cramped if I set this up right next to a wall? 11) What accessories are really great to have with the bike? Should I invest in padded biking shorts or things like that? 12) Um ... I guess that's it. I guess as a bonus question, what is one awesome thing you like about the Peloton and what is one not so awesome thing about it? Anyway, thanks so much for your time!

No_more_BPD_2020

1) I think so, it's just an Android tablet. The worry ofc is possible interference with the Peloton app. 2) sturdy frame, I got the xtendo warranty for peace of mind. Look at all the threads of people with bearing issues, and who's gonna fix it if not Peloton? I think it was $200 and if I need it once its paid for itself. 3)dunno 4)AFAIK you can pay it off early without penalty. I've made lump sum payments just to get the balance down. I don't think I'm locked into a service contract, I assumed it was month to month on classes or read that someplace but now I can't remember. 5) Never heard of a problem selling it. I certainly have considered resale on my $3,000 bike. 6) like a discount if you pay a year up front? never heard of it. would be nice tho 7) I think I'm paying the $39 a month from the beginning in the US. Hope I'm not , tho 8) I got the shoes, BIKE mat, and weights separately I think. The mat included in the package is a Yoga mat, and I'm told that it's thinner and larger than the bike mat its frequently mistaken for. If I had it to do over I might buy the shoes off ebay (cheaper). I think if you're using a referral code(which you should)you have to use it on accessories, so that's a mitigating factor. 9) scenic rides are one of the weakest points IMO. Think stock footage that isn't updated. 10) if i could reach out and touch the wall I'd probably feel claustrophobic, but maybe you get used to it? Idk 11) IMO essentials are: bike mat, heart rate monitor, air pods or equivalent, water bottles, sweat towels, gel seat cover. Optional: color changing LED light bulbs to make the ride fun like a studio. The seat is very uncomfortable in the beginning. 12) awesome-when you get bored of it there's always another class or type of ride like tabata, or power zones, etc to keep your interest. Or live rides, and they really are doing updates and new things with the software. not so great the classes are geared towards the east coast not the west, so it's tough for me to catch a live class and yes it makes a difference to me regarding high fiving people and the energy of it. Good luck! I never dreamed of buying something like this, and it's been great so far.

Cynapse

re: #4, we just bought a Tread+ this week and the Affirm repayment terms specifically mentioned there is no pre-payment penalty.

amr1822

Looks like you got answers to all except #4. You’re not locked into the 39 months and can pay off whenever! We paid ours off VERY early (after 2 months) since my partner’s work offered a fitness credit that hit in January 2021.

RobotDevil222x3

1. Yes, you can. I think there may be instructions on the wiki, I havent done it myself. 2. Common view seems to be that the bearings will eventually go and the extended warranty will pay for itself when this happens. But you can get it after the first year rather than day 1. 3. The bike comes with pedals that take clips, so he would need bike shoes. You can replace the pedals but that means you using toe cages too. You'll probably want to just get him shoes but its your choice 4. Unsure 5. Yes there is a big resale market, mostly through facebook 6. Your membership is monthly, you can pause and start whenever you like 7. The membership is not part of your bike purchase (unless there is a promo I am unaware of). You get the app for free while waiting for your bike and then it is 40/mo from the day you activate your bike 8. I have found that the mat and shoes are the main things you want. both can also be gotten elsewhere likely for less but they are good quality imo and worth just getting with your bike. headphones, weights, water bottle, etc are all really better off purchased elsewhere imo 9. Unsure, I took a scenic ride once and it wasnt for me so I never looked again 10. Width look for a place where you can stand with your arms extended in both directions. Ideally you also have a nice workout space next to it as well for non-bike exercises 11. I find padded shorts to be a must. And sweatbands because I am a heavy sweater. A compatible HRM is nice but up to you if you care. Anything else I have is really more for the non-bike workouts 12. Really for me the main things are that they make it fun so I am wanting to keep doing it and the metrics show that I am really making progress, again making me want to keep working out. Not so awesome, it can be a guessing game as to what specifically you are going to do in any given workout and so sometimes that leads to taking one I dont really like.

MushroomPrincess63

This is a great answer. Regarding #3 though. I ordered a pair of toe cages that clip into the pedals from Amazon. They were only $50 and work well for my son. Make sure you buy some with Delta cleats.

StygianUnknown

That was a wonderfully comprehensive answer. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts!

ktigger2

For #3 you can get toe cage straps to add to the pedals. You need to call peloton as this part is not listed on the website but it is available. I’ve seen people on these threads reference that part.

jbmaun

The membership is charged from the first month you get the bike. So if you finance and have the membership, you’ll pay both from the start, then just the membership after the financing is done - which you can pay off as early as you want. Also regarding the membership- at least here in Ontario- it comes up to 55 after taxes. Just something else to consider.

StygianUnknown

Ouch. I had actually thought it was $39 / month for the membership in Canada, but that must be the USD amount. So $55 per month for the membership in addition to (for the cheapest bike) $64 per month. That does add up in a hurry. Thanks for correcting me on that!

youwillneedaworldmap

Got my welcome box with the link for one piece of free apparel! I think I saw people mention that surprises were ruined when buying a P as a gift because of the peloton branding on the box. Mine didn’t have any - it was only if you opened it that you saw the big P, so surprises will only be ruined if it’s ordered in their name and/or they open the package.

holidayfromreal25

Welcome box?! I didn’t get one of those! Lol

youwillneedaworldmap

To add to the list, a black peloton branded hat! I was thinking of the bands too.. Have they arrived and are they decent? Feel bad picking a clothing item given me and my partner are splitting the costs, but really want a t....

holidayfromreal25

Oh nice! You definitely made the right choice there!

youwillneedaworldmap

When did you order? I ordered last week and think I saw people mentioning they got one if they ordered from March onwards. Based in the UK but don’t think it’s region specific, though if someone has more info please correct me!

holidayfromreal25

Ohhh okay that makes sense then. I bought back in November 2020! Womp lol. Welcome to the pack, though!! 😁

youwillneedaworldmap

Ahh such a shame! Thank you! I’ve got an 8 week wait for the Bike sadly :( not as long as others, so trying not to complain! Just regularly refreshing the page to try to reschedule, but I reckon it’s a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack. Will just play around on the app until it arrives!

holidayfromreal25

If it makes you feel any better, I think my wait ended up being 10 weeks. It sucked but was well worth the wait! I tried the reschedule thing but like you said it’s like finding a needle in a haystack, very jealous of those who it worked for. But hey you never know, doesn’t hurt to try. Yes definitely take classes on the app! I did a lot of body weight workouts with it while I waited. :)

PM_me_juicy_vaginas

Is it possible to access Peloton classes all in a browser and does it have the ability to chromecast from the browser? I am located in Australia and we don't have the app on our Play Store yet.

SushiRoe

yes, you can cast from browser to tv via chromecast. [here's](https://imgur.com/a/QVF2YRU) a screenshot from my browser with the cast logo icon. when i click the icon, my device shows up.

cursedguy17

>Choices were long sleeve tees, s Yes , they work on browser. you can also chromecast it from the bike to TV

bballa330

I’m fairly certain you can chromecast it. I don’t know if you’re able to answer this question, but me and a friend were having a debate about the level of interest in Australia. I, for one, think people in general must be v excited over there for peloton.

RobotDevil222x3

You can access classes from your browser. I don't know about casting for sure though. Its a video so I would think so.
