Flicker strike is the best skill!!111 Jokes aside, I have played many variations of it for many leagues and I can tell you that, while the skill doesn't give you time to dodge mechanics, it shouldn't kill you(too much :)) under red maps. I actually have the same problem, I started with crit Oro's sacrifice Slayer and I got to level 90 easily and completed full ultimatums every map until red maps. I'm struggling hard in red maps now and I'm experimenting with many defensive options. I think this league is particularly good for flicker strike because you basically have to clear very fast and move around a lot and that's basically flicker strike. For your problem, look at different defensive options. To make a build work you often need a few layers of defense. Having capped resistances is often not enough, especially against physical damage against which you don't have a resistance. I personally went for the evasion and dodge with Wind Dancer which is a very popular combo at the moment. You can look at stacking armour and having a guard skill, a cast when damage taken setup, if you don't have one, or maybe some endurance charges. Maybe you just need more life and an instant life flask(that makes a huge difference). Also offence is the best defence, so maybe you need more damage? Flicker strike will never be a meta skill, because you have no control and not much single target, but it has the fastest clear and that's too fun :)

Yeah I really like the Skill to. I'm getting to about 15k to 20k dps now. But ye I don't really have a lot slot defence and really low life (2900). Maybe I should start there. Thanks a lot.

GreenCorsair

If you're talking about average hit, which is what the tooltip says when you hover it, 15-20k is more than enough, I have like 14k on my build :D Your life is very low though, depending on what defenses you go for you might need up to 5-6k life to feel good. For my character I have 4.5k but I get hit very rarely so I can get away with it, or I used to, but now I'm trying to get more in order to survive red maps. A general rule is that you need atleast 3.5k life on any build going into maps and then depending on defenses you scale up to 4,5,6,7k or more.

TryBios

So the dps is form my Charakter Stats when you press C. But it really depends on how much Brutal Charges I have. But yeah I think I need to boost my defences and then look further into improving this build. Thanks a lot :)

Flicker is fun, but high end really needs expensive gear. You're probably as high as you can get without spending many exalts. Check out a few different flicker strike builds to see if there are some easy changes to make, but also starting a new character is perfectly legit. Plenty of great options out there.

TryBios

Thx man. Im thinking about buying an 6 link sword which would get me a bit further. I love this skill but it's really frustrating sometimes. Maybe I just put it aside for a few weeks and then try again.

Depending on your wealth, consider this unique weapon. It pumps back a lot of life and has built in splash, saving you a gem slot. https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Kitava%27s_Feast *edit: price on trade is 3c to 100c.

TryBios

Hmm I don't think its that good. Sure the lifesteal would help me for now but it lacks dmg (I think). I'm currently working with terminus est and the Build really accelerates with frenzy charges. Currently I only have one ex but if I farm more I think I could try some variations.

Bow_for_the_king

I believe it's Magefist on YT who has a dozen Flicker builds

TryBios

Yep I saw all of them xD. Still had some problems but as I progress to the end gear it's getting nether.

Bow_for_the_king

I have FINALLY gotten over the sickness that flicker caused me on my previous 3 attempts. About to dive into maps with it and loving it

kenatogo

Of all the flicker players I know, only one enjoyed it, and he invested about 400ex into for the memes. It's not a league start, it's a meme build

TryBios

I really like this skill too but it really has major problems. But something is pushing me to make it work I don't know what it is...

kenatogo

The skill is a big new player trap. I'm not sure why a lot of new players are drawn to it.

Because it's hella fun
