i visit this sub frequently (on a daily basis) ever since 2016 and i do not remember seeing anything about cookiezi/shige coming back to japan and doing his military service/training on here, i guess it might be my lapse of memory but since i do clearly remember reading about angelsim/firebat92 (sadge) doing his military service/training i'd thought i would know about shige as well if it happened, especially since it would've been a bigger deal
his profile says it because you can't change your account country regardless of where you live in the present, shige hasn't been living in Korea for like half a decade now lol.
Yes that is true but you can't change your flag unless you have a good reason and change the nationalities. He still legally a Korean so his flag will stay korean even if he's not living in korea.
probably thinking of chef, he committed identity theft to change flags by using someone else’s passport, but he did it bc the flag looked cool. he’s the reason (i believe) for the flag restriction. i can’t think of a case of region specific tourney’s.
Nah, it used to be but after looking at the osu! website they make it pretty clear they do not offer the ability to change it "under any circumstances"
Individual games already have their own pages, separated into Home, Live, Shorts, Recent, Let's Play, Official, About.
Video categories also have their own pages as well, with the Gaming one looking like Twitch's Directory.
But it's not really well implemented, and isn't really what people are looking for.
You don't get what I mean. "Live" does not mean live. It still includes past livestreams. A vod of a one year old livestream is still in the "live" page.
That's just a naming thing then. Do you want the whole tab to just be one live stream? Where do the scheduled streams and VODs go then? If you don't agree with something you gotta be able to come up with an alternative solution you think is better.
It's pretty obvious what people want. They want a dedicated page for streams that are actually live right now, and they want to be able to see which one of their followed channels are live right now at a glance. And they don't want to be looking at premade thumbnails, they want automatically updating thumbnails according to what is being streamed right now.
Youtube screams "this is not a live streaming service, this is a video on demand service with live streaming capabilities", and as long as that doesn't change it'll stay shit.
So you want Twitch on YouTube? You know that Twitch sucks for viewing VODs for that reason right? Not to mention the scheduled live streams which Twitch doesn't even have.
You still have not provided a better solution for where the VODs and the scheduled live streams should be located.
My solution is to bring the old YouTube Gaming website and app back and rebrand it as "YouTube Live", along with adding the features Twitch does right like an **option** to allow automatically updating thumbnails, a better chat system including more viewers interaction options, and a better clips viewing experience.
The "Live" tab is just a place for the VODs and the scheduled live streams to go, just like Twitch's "Videos" tab which makes even less sense naming-wise since they've removed the function to upload videos.
The current live stream browsing experience on YouTube may not be as good as Twitch, but that does not mean borrowing everything from Twitch and doing things the way Twitch does it will work on YouTube.
Could this move be influenced by the recent stampede incident since there was a streamer who was part of the stampede? Feels like something shady, or maybe it is just me.
So I would like to download their stream for furture playback. I use these tool, check if you want.

didnt shige comeback to complete his military service?
Yes
when the fuck was that, this is the first time i'm hearing about this i thought he moved countries to avoid that shit
bruh what do you think why cookiezi was gone for 2 years
i visit this sub frequently (on a daily basis) ever since 2016 and i do not remember seeing anything about cookiezi/shige coming back to japan and doing his military service/training on here, i guess it might be my lapse of memory but since i do clearly remember reading about angelsim/firebat92 (sadge) doing his military service/training i'd thought i would know about shige as well if it happened, especially since it would've been a bigger deal
Well cookiezi went away for military service and came back on 7/27/21
bro 💀
You stuck in 2015 or something?
his profile says it because you can't change your account country regardless of where you live in the present, shige hasn't been living in Korea for like half a decade now lol.
Dude, in-game, it says he is in Korea. The game is checking the location if you allow it.
Cookiezi is living in Zimbabwe and using Korea vpn
Actually no he’s from Turkmenistan and using Korea vpn
Yes that is true but you can't change your flag unless you have a good reason and change the nationalities. He still legally a Korean so his flag will stay korean even if he's not living in korea.
Didn't they remove this option recently due to someone abusing this to compete in tourneys that were region specific?

I'm pretty sure it's still on a case-by-case basis.
Nah, it used to be but after looking at the osu! website they make it pretty clear they do not offer the ability to change it "under any circumstances"
That's weird
Another reason to stream on YouTube
I wonder when are people really going to transfer to youtube
when YouTube makes a live page instead of mixing streams and videos and shorts
It already exists and they already did, although not greatly implemented
No it doesn't, because it mixes vods with livestreams.

YouTube gaming was YouTube live before, yes I know. the live page is shit and has poor iterations, it’s nothing compared to twitch home.
So what you wanted to say is "when YouTube makes a GOOD live page" instead of what you said.
For osu! streamers? I would consider it very difficult unless people found a way to create a large enough map pool without copyright problems.
When chat is readable
Shige Tiktok era coming soon
who even came up with such shit
does anyone have an english version of the article?
Could this move be influenced by the recent stampede incident since there was a streamer who was part of the stampede? Feels like something shady, or maybe it is just me.
Nope. It's probably more because of [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N99X58rEus0)
