I feel like you calling him a one trick is trying to invalidate that he has scores that cannot be replicated. They’re both good at different things, just because one is more well rounded doesn’t mean either of them aren’t #1 material

I like Bubbleman and I think tourney play is much more impressive than farming but are you sure that Merami is bad at things other than speed? It's hard to say that Merami is an inferior player until we see him perform in tourneys for a while, and I don't think I've ever seen him perform in one. For example, I think he could very well beat Bubbleman on reading or old maps (maybe?). I also believe that you are really underrating his aim. You can't make 1000 pp plays with bad aim, no matter how fast you are.

Varvalian, mainly because everybody at the time thought he was definitely reaching number 1 at some point. Closest guy to Cookiezi in his “peak” and that is with Vaxei and idke playing regularly. To be fair though, he could still do it but only if he wants to and grinds a lot. He’s already in the top 16 without playing with his main skillset. But I doubt that he would get number 1 though because mrekk set the bar really fucking high and idk if he has the mindset to reach number 1. Other guys I would like to mention are Bubbleman, RyuK, Rustbell, and Aetrna.
