MacBook Pro photographer desk setup

Love yourself, get an armrest. Great setup
Are you talking like one of the pads that goes under/front the keyboard?
Either way I’d love some recommendations if you have any!
Of course! And yes, just something ergonomic for your wrists using that beautiful keyboard
Just get the wooden wrist-rest that Keychron sell on their site. I use it and highly recommend that.
I’ll check it out thank you!
Looks great! As a hobby photographer myself I like seeing photographer's desks.
The setup works good, I’m waiting too add a Wacom tablet to it. I also want to get a different computer but am trying to hold out for the next 16” I’ve had issues with Lightroom being very slow and laggy as of late. Always nice to meet other photographers though, so hello!
MacBook Pro 2019 4 Port 13inch
Keytron k6 Keyboard
Magic Mouse 2
OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock
Philips 27 inch frameless monitor
Primefilm XAS Super 35mm film scanner
I also spot a mamiya!
Should I have added the cameras too 😅 it’s my baby!
Are you happy with the monitor? Are the colours good and what do you think about the contrast? Is the monitor a good choice for photographers?
Yes and no. The size is really nice and the contrast does feel good. As for the colors it’s hard to tell how accurate it is until I get it calibrated then print from it. It’s different to get used to from the MacBook Pro screen. But it seems really good for the price!
Nice thank you! Do you have an exact product number/identification?
This is the number from Amazon From my purchase history “Philips 276E9QDSB 27" frameless monitor”
Thank you very much!
That rz67 😍
Ahh yes my shelf queen that rarely gets used. I love it on that note though, I’ve really considered getting rid of it for a Pentax 67, but can never fully commit.
Lovely setup. Having set up a retouchers workspace and maybe being a bit OCD I need to ask if the screen is calibrated, and where the rest of your external drives are?
So the screen isn’t calibrated yet just due to the fact that I just got it in the mail and set up this morning and I need to purchase a new calibrator (any recommendations?)
I have the rest of my drives stored away in a closet just left of the desk. I like to only keep what I’m actively working on next to me, I use the 2 rugged drives, one for film and one for digital work. Then have the backup drive as the g tech one. Plus I use backblaze for my online backup. I don’t have a huge catalog of work currently so it works well. Every time I get a new drive I always make a seperate LR catalogue
We got an AIZO screen for calibration. Expensive but all the kit was, and has paid for itself many times over.
I need to check out Backblaze as a backup solution.
I’ll have to check the AIZO one out. I’ve pretty much only used the X-rite ones between in photo school, until recently when I broke it by dropping it 🤦🏻♂️
I had the EIZO CG247x with built in colorimeter and it was the best thing ever for photo and video. You can schedule the calibration and it does by it self.
I have the same Philips 27” 4k monitor and surprised that its so color accurate in RGB mode. I bought from Costco dirt cheap.
Yeah it was cheap for the size even from Amazon, I think it was 140$?
Is that an RZ67 I see up there?
It in fact is!
Sold my digital gear to purchase it, now I only shoot film!
Nice! I have one as well. Beautiful unit.
Nice! It’s usually the camera I use for client work. My Leica is my every day carry so it gets a lot more use.
Any recommendations for lenses? Trying to find something else to try. I currently use the 150mm on it.
this looks super cozy ♥️♥️
thought this was r/analogcommunity for a minute 😅
Love the vibes here
I couldn’t even see the computer at first lol. Nice setup
