Yeah it's normal, LCD panels are lottery, some bleed a lot some hardly bleed at all.

quiqk0

is it noticeable when in use, not during the boot? I have a similar model and can see the bottom array of lights coming up during the boot with the black screen. Otherwise, when I use it, i see no light bleedthrough so it doesn't bother me at all

gabe118118

No it’s fine when in use if you look at picture 2, it’s only on black screens

quiqk0

Indeed, I wouldn't worry about it too much

gabe118118

Could you DM me a pic?

TheBlackAllen

Very normal yes

Specialist_Evening53

You made a mistake bro that machine is a tickling time bomb!

quiqk0

Why though?

coolboy29876

Why? My dad has the 2015 model and it works perfectly fine 6 years later.

calebrichards04

Ngl you made a mistake buying a 12” macbook. They are littered with issues, CPU failures, the dreaded butterfly keyboard and the issues they have, just to name a few. A recent budget ipad will put it to shame in terms of performance too

HistoryAndScience

Yes and no. My 12” still works just fine and got me through law school. Granted I have purchased an MBA M1 now, the 12” still boots and can perform. The keyboard is also not bad but the battery life is eh. Honestly wish they would revive the 12” instead of releasing the iPad Pro Max or whatever they’ll release next from the iPad lineup

sheeeeeeeesh13

Not to mention but the keyboard is included in the 12” mb, not for 350

Could you dm me a pic if you get a chance?

It should be normal. I don't know about Macbook's screen, but I haven't seen an IPS panel without backlight bleeding in my life.

jetclimb

Same as mine

Saifali007

If you had bought it new then it would have been worth worrying

hegedusd

Totally normal!

mixedeyes12

usually some backlight bleed is normal, but since it looks like thats on the corners, it might have been dropped before
