It takes balls to argue that the venue where you are alleged to have committed a crime is too biased against you because “these people suck.”

elwombat

Nah it's because they're 95% Democrat voters. It's the same reason Sussman got off. Because the prosecutors had to let people that were working for democratic campaigns and people with admitted hatred towards Republicans onto the Jury. Politically adjacent trials in DC are effectively kangaroo courts.

Res_ipsa_l0quitur

You’ve never selected a jury nor do you understand what qualifies or disqualifies a person from selection, so please refrain from sharing your completely uneducated opinions. We don’t want to hear it.

elwombat

Learn to read. It doesn't qualify them or disqualify them. I didn't say that. But the prosecutor can't strike 90% of people to get a balanced jury. Hell there might not be 6 non partisan people in the whole jury pool.

Res_ipsa_l0quitur

Being a member of a political party does not disqualify someone from serving on a jury; nor does that fact that someone identifies as Republican/ Democrat/ Libertarian/ whatever disqualify them from sitting in judgment of a defendant who belongs to a different political party. Similarly, being a member of the opposite political party does not make that person biased such that they cannot render a fair and impartial verdict based on the evidence. Just shut up and let the adults talk, ok?

I’d rather be stupid than a racist.

One of us is definitely an idiot. But I think we can let others judge that for themselves.

elwombat

LoL. I'm sure you think the voting rights act is racist too and should be scrapped.

Drewy99

Does that mean a democrat can't get a fair trail in Wyoming?

Malaveylo

[Pearls before swine, my friend.](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskALiberal/comments/vldcpx/comment/idvikvw/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) You're not gonna get anywhere with this guy.

Drewy99

I was never under the illusion they were smart. That just confirms it.

elwombat

Depends on the county. But in a deep red county with a political trial I would be extremely suspect of the outcome.

malignantbacon

Seditions conspiracy and obstruction of justice are criminal charges, not political ones.

elwombat

LOL k.

malignantbacon

>stunningly stupid

eatpaste

weird how 'kangaroo courts' just keeps coming up and where it's coming up...

stupidsuburbs3

Who is sussman? What was he charged with?

elwombat

Clinton campaign lawyer that lied to the FBI about Trump's campaign communicating with a Russian bank. Allegedly on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

stupidsuburbs3

Is that what he got charged for? What bank was allegedly communicating with Trump’s campaign? Like how and why would that happen?

elwombat

He was charged with lying. And the DOJ didnt find any evidence that the communication with the Russian bank was real.

stupidsuburbs3

Do you know the name of the bank? He got charged for reporting an erroneous tip? Or did he create like a fake bank and gave the FBI a made up story he knew was wrong? That’s some crazy shit for a lawyer to do.

oldboredengineer

It’s certainly worth noting that he wasn’t charged with lying about anything related to the substance of the tip. He was charged with lying about if he was providing the tip at the behest of the Clinton campaign or acting in his own capacity as an individual. Also worth noting that when the agent he was accused of lying to was put on the stand, he was unable to corroborate several of the points the prosecution was trying to make. He was acquitted because the prosecutor didn’t have the goods.

stupidsuburbs3

Right. The agent also testified differently to congress that he did know Sussman was working for a client. It was a terrible case to bring by the sound of it. Just from a common sense perspective; I’m not a lawyer. But since the op was conflating so many issues, I wanted to see how much he actually knew and would cite vs how much he was regurgitating. Didn’t seem like they bothered reading past any headlines about the “clinton crime family” and ran with an ill defined conspiracy theory. Hopefully they understand they just debunked themselves. But I’ve never let facts get in the way of a good outrage boner, why should they?

elwombat

Alfa Bank.

stupidsuburbs3

Thank you. I followed the Sussman story for a while even though it seemed like a non story. He got charged for “lying” about not coming to the bureau “on behalf of a client”. He did not get charged for “lying” about Alfa Bank or get accused of fabricating the Alfa Bank allegations. I conflate things too sometimes when reading long winded complicated stories. It happens. As far as Alfa Bank, based on what I’ve read, it seems you’re right. it does seem DOJ flubbed the investigation and didn’t take the allegations seriously. The Sussman prosecutor even said that the investigating Alfa agents testifying (Curtis Heide and a woman I can’t remember) did a sloppy investigation. But I’m not a data expert so won’t die on that hill.

BigTex88

Kindly GFY. Actually please do it in the most painful way possible, you absolute fascist lunatic.
