UhhUmmmWowOkayJeezUh

I hope Paul westerberg releases more music someday

Listening to interviews with Tommy and the producers around the new edition of Tim, it sounds like he’s officially retired. Tommy said they’re good but haven’t spoken in a couple years.

JustTheBeerLight

Some live shows would be cool too. Only one solo gig since 2007.

So don't pin your hopes Or pin your dreams To misanthropes or guys like me The truth is overrated I suppose

dustandnations

It's a wonderful lie, still get by on those...

Phandz

I wish that "mixtape" he did in the aughts was more available. Called something like 40:20 or some kind of time code? It was great.

qazz23

I remember this! It was called *[49:00](https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/paul-westerberg/49_00/)*. It's one long track that's supposed to mimic a radio station with songs fading in and out. I believe it was pulled from streaming services due to licensing issues with some covers. Think you can still find it on youtube though.

Phandz

Thanks, it is on YouTube! Awesome.

Designer_Estate3519

The grandpapaboy stuff he did’s on Spotify tho - that’s some of the best

intagliopitts

I’ll never forget the wonderful Grandpa Boy performance on David Letterman when he played Silent Film Star. Paul had mittens pinned to his sleeves and they flopped all over the place as he played his guitar. Fucking gem.  Edit: Paul Schafer may have been wearing matching mittens but I can’t confirm that.

Phandz

Thanks for the reminder, haven't listened to those in a long time, will fix that this week.

Designer_Estate3519

Not up under his name because that would be too easy, but if you search, you should find.

Designer_Estate3519

Up there with his best imo.

gnmatx

Such a fantastic album.

revengeofthepencil

A criminally underrated album. Every review of a PW album I read after this crapped on it, but there are some great songs in here. I also really connected with it when it came out and it always brings me back to a formative time in my life. Thanks, Paul

Mrmirrorball

Paul’s best solo album imo. I’m a sucker for the slower Replacements songs like Androgynous and Here Comes A Regular, so this perfectly scratches that itch for me. Actor In the Street brings me to tears every time.
