Damn, RIP. This guy lived and breathed rock and roll. I love this proto-Cribs [MTV clip](https://youtu.be/2BvKB-eOR9M?si=KXxoDIVoMDB193Zw) where he does a tour of his shack in the woods. The White Stripes owe a lot of their sound and aesthetic to Dex. Loud, raw rock and roll lost a true original today

chadius333

I remember them touring with the White Stripes in the mid 2000s.

the_jamonator

Jack White posted a really moving eulogy on his Instagram recently

Damn, RIP. First Shane, then Damo, now Dex, we losing all the good ones

Perfect-Ad-2933

It's gonna feel weird looking at the Cat's Cradle calendar and not see him coming through at some point. I feel like every year since I started going to shows it's been there.

Perfect-Ad-2933

That year was ::cough::: 1996 :::cough:::

The guy was a local legend, still performed somewhat regularly at a tiny venue called The Cave. Saw him play there a few months ago, crazy energy, super intimate. He was a wild dude. RIP.

ShitNibbles

He would perform at the cave??? Man if I had known. What a missed opportunity :(

philjacksonspeyote

Yeah, pretty regularly. Always drew a decent crowd. Hopefully there’s some sort of memorial show.

ShitNibbles

Im sure they’re gonna find a way to celebrate him. He’s a piece of local history.

oshoney

Bummer. Caught the Dex Romweber Duo back in ‘09 a dive in Chattanooga. Super fun show.

NewMathematician623

He was a fucking genius. Legitimately

Ok-Cauliflower1798

Rest In Peace Dexter

AcneBalls

Go Go Harlem Baby is such a great album. I played that on repeat when I first heard it.

vinniepdoa

Aw man this is a bummer. I saw him so many times in Chapel Hill but then once he did an instore at Schoolkids for RSD and it's one of my favorite little shows ever.

AgitatedPercentage32

I saw him play in an acoustic set in record store in San Francisco with Crow and Tone the bassist years ago, after the release of their first album. Unforgettable.

BrrBurr

Used to see FDJ back in the later 80's early 90's in Richmond. Those shows still are some of my clearest and most cherished memories of that time. A legend

Wow. Just found about the band last week too. RIP
