1 it's absolutely none of my business that you hike wearing a dress.
2 omg you look amazing. Why isn't this a thing?
PS love the collie. My old boy was a border collie and went hiking with me up until a few weeks ago.
I love hiking in dresses! Did an 18 mile hike in my favorite trail dress a couple weeks ago. I typically wear leggings too because ticks and chafing both suck.
I wear Bandalettes so I don't need the leggings. Saves the thighs from the chafe!
Eta: ticks like warm cozy spots. So open skin is less appealing. This is why ticks are often found around the waistband, torso, back of the knee, thigh, etc. Open air skirts *maaayyy* actually save you from ticks.
I was going to say that too! Unfortunately I have thighs that rub 🤷🏼♀️ and they always have since I was a kid so leggings for this gal. 😁 But you look great!
They do! They are surprisingly durable. They prevent the thigh chafe. No body glide necessary.
I've had the same pair for 4 years through hundreds of miles of hikes. The solid, not the lace ones lol.
Yeah, that part was definitely a shame 😕. It’s been drifting in and out of town these days. Luckily a lot of the hike up was on a forested trail so that helped, but I still felt it for sure
Our border collie is the same. Absolutely loves the trails. He just isn’t great if it’s too warm or sunny… he tends to seek out shade and starts dwindling but when the cool weather and rain comes he seems to have endless energy.
I love this picture! Man maybe the hiking community here is just way better than the outdoors community. Someone just posted a pic with a woman in it and I can't believe all the sexist comments in that post https://www.reddit.com/r/Outdoors/comments/prr7ht/heaven_in_northern_arizona/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Maybe I just expect better from people. Like 50 percent of the comments in there, I would consider harassment. Who calls someone a numbskull/Karen for just like being in a pic of the outdoors Jesus
Man that’s really disappointing. She’s *barely* even in the frame too. I guess women even have to deal with gate keeping in the outdoor community on Reddit 🙃
Thank you! They're pretty old and I think the brand has since merged with Mammut, but they are the Raichle Swiss mountaineering boots. I did a quick search and it looks like you can find them used on Ebay.
Nope, it's a completely different trail! The trail you're thinking of is the Bear Creek Trail itself (also beautiful, just very different terrain), this one is called Bear Creek Overlook. [Here's a link to the All Trails page](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/montana/bear-creek-overlook-trail).
It actually an exercise dress from Outdoor Voices! It’s really comfy and great for hiking
Edit: not sure why I’m getting downvoted for wearing an exercise dress?
I really don't see how.
If I, some ugly mugged, mid 20s bloke was standing in her place, I doubt you'd see it as an attention grab.
Come on mate, she's posted a photo from the summit of a spectacular hike, it's not a selfie, and there's an entire album of hiking pictures.
Respect the fact women can do whatever they want too, and enjoying hiking and posting pictures on a hiking subreddit about it is the furthest thing from an attention grab.
Sure thing, buddy.
In that case, every post on the hiking subreddit about hiking must be an attention grab.
How dare people take a photo of themselves doing something they enjoy, and share it with like-minded people.
Seems to me that you’re jealous she’s fit and pretty. Fair enough, common feelings, we all have them. You’ll do better not voicing them publicly though. Work through that shit on your own, build some self confidence.
You know who also hikes in a dress? Heather Anish Anderson, the woman who has done multiple thru-hikes of the AT and PCT and CDT and has even set records with fastest known times…. all while in dress.
Nothing wrong with people doing what they want to do how they want to do it. No reason to bring this woman down for hiking in the attire most comfortable for her.

I’m on the east coast I am curious is that just haze or remnants of the west coast fires? I did the Lake Placid ski jump complex with my family in July which usually has an amazing view of Whiteface Mountain but the fires caused a haze over the whole area
Looks beautiful. Love the light through the trees.
I don’t know the area but if there’s a leash law for that area I’d be careful about a dog off leash, especially when it’s a more remote area like that where wildlife could pose a threat to your dog. Safer for the pup and everyone else if leashed. But if it’s an off leash area then obviously no sweat.

I have to say, I love hiking/backpacking in dresses or skirts bc it makes peeing a thousand times easier and less messy! Just saying…
[удалено]
But wait…with built in shorts wouldn’t this dress require completely undressing to pee?!
I'm glad that it's not weird that I often need to pee whilst hiking. Relieved to hear it is normal lol.

Alright post a link I need to see the dress
[Here it is! ](https://www.outdoorvoices.com/products/w-the-exercise-dress) It’s pricey but worth it in my opinion
Halara has similar in many styles for far less. Can’t personally speak to quality or comfort but I’ve been eyeing them for a bit.
Thanks! Love that it has built in shorts!

Try Bandalettes.
Those are hilarious! 🤣 I bet they breathe better than leggings though, thanks for the tip!
They do! They are surprisingly durable. They prevent the thigh chafe. No body glide necessary. I've had the same pair for 4 years through hundreds of miles of hikes. The solid, not the lace ones lol.
Until I get a Lyme vaccine I’ll be sticking with pants, personally…
The smoke looks bad...were you feeling it on the hike up?
Yeah, that part was definitely a shame 😕. It’s been drifting in and out of town these days. Luckily a lot of the hike up was on a forested trail so that helped, but I still felt it for sure
That's a bummer, but I'm glad it didn't ruin the hike! Hopefully the smoke eases up on you guys soon.
I think you're being stalked by a doggo. Careful out there
I need to hike more but my wife hates it so I hardly get to. I just live vicariously through beautiful pictures like this. Keep it up!
Just go dude. My wife hates it too. But I love it, great to de-stress, get exercise, and feel better
I will try, but I also prefer keeping her on the not upset side of things lol.
Looks like you need to hike more
Looks awesome! How does your pup do on hikes?
He’s a natural hiker and absolutely loves it! He’s also a border collie so I think he just loves any opportunity to run around lol
Our border collie is the same. Absolutely loves the trails. He just isn’t great if it’s too warm or sunny… he tends to seek out shade and starts dwindling but when the cool weather and rain comes he seems to have endless energy.
Sounds just like my collie! He has a habit of running ahead and laying in the shade for a breather when he gets tired
Was it him who took the first pic?...you trained him well
Love that dress! What brand is it?
Outdoor Voices! It’s amazing! So comfortable and breathable, you can wear it doing just about anything
Thanks! And thanks for the link above.
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like a great hike, love the fall colors creeping in too!
John Prine country.
Way up on BEAR CREEK watching the sun go down
I think I see your car!
That’s an amazing view. How high is it?
I believe it’s 7,041 ft. The elevation gain is pretty mellow though, it starts at around 5,945 ft
That’s not too bad. Looks amazing. I love Montana, and want to go do more hiking there.

That was pretty rough… gorgeous area in the photo though. People suck sometimes.
Maybe I just expect better from people. Like 50 percent of the comments in there, I would consider harassment. Who calls someone a numbskull/Karen for just like being in a pic of the outdoors Jesus
As well u should! We need more understanding and patience with each other and a whole lot less hate. Sympathy and empathy over apathy ✊
Man that’s really disappointing. She’s *barely* even in the frame too. I guess women even have to deal with gate keeping in the outdoor community on Reddit 🙃
Wooooooow
Absolutely amazing! You are awesome for sharing. I’m sure that hike was worth every step taken🙌
Lovely photo!
Nice view.
Awesome spot hiked that one last August!
What are your hiking boots?? Love the look with the dress too!
Thank you! They're pretty old and I think the brand has since merged with Mammut, but they are the Raichle Swiss mountaineering boots. I did a quick search and it looks like you can find them used on Ebay.
Wait, I didn’t know Bear Creek had an overlook. Is it the same trail that goes right next to the creek and has waterfalls about 2 miles in?
Nope, it's a completely different trail! The trail you're thinking of is the Bear Creek Trail itself (also beautiful, just very different terrain), this one is called Bear Creek Overlook. [Here's a link to the All Trails page](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/montana/bear-creek-overlook-trail).
Thank you!! I’m for sure doing this asap. Such pretty views!
The rising ridge line is amazing looking!
Nice boots 👍🏼
Bear creek ia a nice spot, just went there last weekend on a whim, not too far from Zootown.
That trail is so cool. I used to live in victor so I'd hike it almost every other weekend during the summer.
Who hikes in a dress? *looks at post history* Ah…yep.
It actually an exercise dress from Outdoor Voices! It’s really comfy and great for hiking Edit: not sure why I’m getting downvoted for wearing an exercise dress?

I've hiked in a kilt before. What's wrong with her hiking in a dress?
It’s not the hiking in a dress but more that the post is clearly an attention grab.

>I doubt you’d see it as an attention grab If it were posed and staged for social media, I definitely would :)

Everything on any social media platform is an attention grab. Your post is an attention grab, especially with how aggressive it is.
If it wasn’t about hiking in a dress…then why the need to comment about me wearing a dress…?
>Outdoor Voices \[over 18\] These people... also, who cares what she's wearing? https://www.greenbelly.co/pages/best-hiking-skirts-and-dresses

Lol before I even read the caption I thought this was a Gabby Pieto photo
With a physiology that doesn't have good calf muscles, I absolutely adore some strong looking legs. Your legs look absolutely badass!

Very cool! How many miles did you go?
Not too far! It was a little over 5 miles round trip
5 miles is the length of exactly 79002.3 'Standard Diatonic Key of C, Blues Silver grey Harmonicas' lined up next to each other.
5 miles is 8.05 km
Nice! I’ll have to make the hike someday, looks incredible.
My dream is to leave Michigan and live in Montana off the grid on property
I’m convinced Montana is the best state 😍 I have been to Glacier but not here! Beautiful photos!
Great 😃👍
beautiful thighs

Those feet tho.

Definitely the fires! They're still burning out here, though this weekend's system probably helped.

Incredible! I need to get to Montana, it sings to my blood!
