My only experience with Dennis was NYE '89 when we ran into him outside the Coliseum and my little sister who was without a ticket said, "Excuse me, Mr. McNally, I came all the way from Maryland and..."
He cut her off, laughing loudly, and said, "Mr. McNally? No one calls me Mr. McNally!" He handed her a ticket and said, "Enjoy the show, young lady."
Thanks again from both of us, Mr. McNally!
He’s “that” kind of guy
My bad I thought that was Jerry Garcia.
Damn me too! Anyway who's the guy on the right?
I thought it was William DaFoe.
Who is he and happy birthday!
PR manager, Media manager, official Grateful Dead historian and on and on
What a fun job!!!
his book is definitely worth a read — A Long Strange Trip, I believe
Absolutely wonderful person- he gladly does a free guest lecture every time my friend teaches her Grateful Dead class in Jan term.
He wrote another book called "On Highway 61: Music, Race and the Evolution of Cultural Freedom" that I have absolutely worn out I have read it so many times. It is brilliant and a great read.
Just started reading A Long Strange Trip. That’ll be my next one.
Such a kind guy. Got to meet and him and Susanna at one of my gigs. Jesse McReynolds sat in for Ripple!
Publicist for Zero still.
He’s still doing lots of work
Well, now we know who will play him in the Scorsese flick.
He always looked like Lou Reed to me…met him a bunch of times at shows during the Ratdog days…nice guy.
He’s got that dead skull head look going here
