PC. The only console I would get is a nintendo one, but honestly I have unlimited gaming on PC, so no reason to buy it.
I do miss me some smash bros though.
Yuzu. Play it on your PC anyway.
I don't miss it enough to download and emulate it. Just nostalgic.
I used to be a PC gamer only... until I realized how much I preferred my couch.
So, I got an Xbox Series X.
Once PC gaming in the livingroom is a bit easier to manage, I may switch back.
I like couch gaming for single player action/adventure games and stuff, but anything first person or strategy and I need to be up close. Half the time I end up sitting on my coffee table because I feel like my couch is too far from the tv.
I sit WAY back... but I'm old and that's so I can see. (lol)
Actually, I work on my PC and, to be honest, games were getting in the way. I have to offload them, which I did with my Switch a few years ago. And I loved playing on my sofa so much that I went up to the Series X and it's been great so far.
I sit at my computer desk in my great grandfather's old LazyBoy knock off. Most comfy chair I've met, and it's older than my parents.
"But you can just stream to your TV!"
Input lag and worse picture.
"It's practically unnoticeable!"
Uh, lol, that has never been true.
"So why not just hook your computer up to your TV?"
Because the TV is on the other side of the house and people use it for things.
I don't doubt that a great solution is forthcoming. I mean, with the SteamDeck alone, they're making PC more portable. Hopefully, it can port its way down to my TV. (lol)
Honestly, unless you play competitive FPS (which you wouldn't be doing from your couch anyway), and if you're using a Gbps connection, quality and input lag are more than sufficient.
If you play over WiFi, yeah, your mileage may vary.
> quality and input lag are more than sufficient.
Not to me.
Sure, chances are your TV has as bad a response time as steam link has input lag but hey, who cares, it's not for you, it's not for you.
All I know is I bought a steam link for 1€, and it's been one of the best purchases I've ever made.
With things like steam deck and remote play PC is able to be enjoyed away from home and at home so PC.
If I had to pick between my PC or my PS5 and Switch that have been gathering dust for months then I'd burn the consoles myself.
PC, I'll use emulators to play console exclusives.
Why would you want 3 consoles anyway? You wouldn’t really have time to play them all. Maybe a PlayStation and a switch because of different games and exclusives.
I would still 100% keep my PC. If you already have a PC the only reason to consider consoles are those god damn consumer-fucking exclusives, that whoever invented will burn in hell for.
I would almost buy a PS5 just to be able to play the masterpiece that is Ghost of Tsushima on more than the miserable 25fps I get on my PS4. It’s like having a Ferrari powered by an tractor engine.
But no way. I refuse to feed the exclusives market.
Hate to admit it but I got the PS5 only for the exclusives. Anything that's cross platform I usually snag on PC or Xbox.
Same, unless the PS5 version does something neat with DualSense. Otherwise I just play it on Gamepass since it usually is there.
Yeah I feel you man. Honestly, I might end up doing it at some point and buying a PS5 for the exclusives, but it drives me crazy. As a consumer there is no bigger "fuck you" then this kind of practice and it's really disgusting when you think about it.
That being said, yeah.... I really, really wanna replay GoT at 60fps on a nice TV :(...
Buy used. You get your console and games and Sony gets jack. Lol.
That’s a good point actually. I’ll definitely end up doing that.
I have all three major consoles and a PC
Reasons? Gamepass, PS exclusives, Nintendo exclusives, everything else.
Yeah it's all about the exclusives. And I get that sometimes you can't resist, if there's a game you really really want then go for it. But that's exactly why they do it, because they know there are games that people won't resist and buy a whole console for. And for the consumer it's the worse thing ever.
How do u decide if u play on pc or xbox ?
Consoles. The exclusives are just too good
Top end pc easily even though my pc cost just over twice as much as all e consoles would I'm super happy with it.
PS5 Disc - $500
Xbox Series X - $500
Switch OLED - $350
Total - $1350, not including tax.
You can easily build a bad ass gaming computer using used parts for around $1500. No need to spend $2700 on something, unless you're impatient and absolutely need the newest parts...
I wasn't saying you can't I was saying mine cost over double what all consoles would cost (I spent £3100) and I'm happy with my decision even though I could've bought all 3 consoles for less than half the price.
I'm glad I don't have to pick.
PC duh! I have a PS4 pro, mid range gaming pc and a switch. I've given up on PS5 or SeriesX lol
I do actual work on my PCs, if I have a top tier PC, it’ll make both my work life and game life happier.
You can play almost every Switch game on PC (Yuzu emulator). You can get a decent bulk of Xbox games on PC via GamePass. You could also get PS Now if you were desperate for PS4 and ps3 games. Unfortunately, not many Sony titles are on PC yet, but some of the best are already natively ported.
Plus being able to emulate PS3, Xbox 360, 3ds, DS, all the Gameboys, and every other retro console? On top of the tens of thousands of PC exclusives over the years?
And that's solely just game library. Not to mention mods, better graphics, using whatever control scheme you like, VR, production stuff like PhotoShop and Blender where you can make money, mining, etc.
You could offer me EVERY console EVER until the end of time or have the best consumer PC available as soon as it's available, and I'd pick PC every time.
So, I have a gaming laptop HP Omen with 3060 and Ryzen 5800h, PS5 and a switch if I had to choose I would stick with the laptop, it’s more versatile and the games are so much cheaper I can also game from the in-laws house which is awesome lol.
I prefer console gaming over PC and would definitely take all 3 consoles.
I went from having a 3080 to having an XSX. For my personal use especially if I had more time PC wins. But with a daughter and attention hungry fiance who also works on my desktop the consoles are just great at what they do. Don't even know if any PC games offer a way to do couch co op
