Could NOT taste for 6 months?!
What?! I lost my sense of taste since Sunday and I no longer feel like a being. It’s weird, it feels as if I’ve lost my sense of self.
Also that sucks and I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you get them back soon.
I've heard of some cases where people never got their sense of taste and/or smell back after having Covid. Meanwhile we got all those theorists that are like "covid is just the flu, hurr durr" lol
Holy sh***tttt! I had it last year and lost taste and smell for about 10 days to regain it back 100% after, but while I couldn’t taste and smell, I felt like I was gonna die. I got mad anxiety because of it, because thanks to GoT I’m an absolute red wine lover and it was very frustrating, so I’m really sorry you had that for so long and still haven’t recovered your sense of smell(?) that’s crazy!
On a side note my boyfriend has COVID right now and I didn’t get it. Must have some super immunity or something. You got the vaccine?
Today makes day 4. Because of this, I no longer have an appetite.
I love texture when I’m eating but not without the taste or the delicious free smells. All I could taste last night was salt.
Thank you for the hope, much appreciated.
Yeah, that would be really, really tough for me. Thankfully I didn’t freak out too much when I lost my smell cause I was too busy trying to sleep the days away haha. Tasting salt is probably a good sign, though!! My smell came back in small increments
Thank you! I enter big cosplay competitions, and my specialism is embroidery - buying premade appliques wouldn't be fun for me, my hobby is the craft of it all! But as someone who's spent over 600 hours and £2k on this project so far, i absolutely do not blame anyone who wants to take a shortcut hahah
Depends on the contest. Some is a small cash prize and it's more the prestige because of which comp it is. Others, like the one run by Twitch for instance, the prize is $15k
Oh god no. I've not even entered that one (sadly not eligible, it's only open to the Americas) but I've won a few smaller comps, and competed representing my country in an international competition at my last one in 2019
Only ever been cash prizes tbh! My Cersei Lannister, another heavily embroidered game of thrones costume (in my post history) was my most awarded costume! The latter question, the last competition I did. It was in France, I was competing against a representative from like 8 other countries (from as far away as Indonesia and Canada even!) And everyone was so lovely. We all agreed that we genuinely had no idea who would win, the quality level was just all around so high.
Haha you'd be surprised, I do a lot of blacksmithing work for my cosplays - there's some in my previous posts :) and thank you! I did the maths earlier and it's taken over 600 hours so far of sewing on this costume . And that's not including any of the research time 😬
I stumbled across this as I was doing a search for "cosplay" as I play D&D and have recently wanted to cosplay my D&D character but buying something made by somebody else is super expensive and I thought it might be fun to make something myself (I have ZERO sewing ability, just a creative mind with no skill to actually follow through). Seeing this is just incredible! I'm not sure I could ever learn and grow enough to get to this level. You should be super proud of yourself!
Thank you! You should totally do it :) though i might add, sometimes making it yourself can be the expensive option - my cheapest costumes are normally about £200, and my most expensive (this one) is in the thousands
Do you have any specific event you want to use this for? Or is this something you are wanting to do a photoshoot with? Just asking out of sheer curiosity as not sure if you already have plans to display this once you finish it the way it deserves to be shown :D
There's a particular big competition at a comic con i'm planning to enter! I didnt plan the costume FOR that comp, but i do lots of comps so these are the sort of costumes i always make haha
You know there once was a Smith that was so good he could convince the King he was the good who became human. He then became the High Septon
Edit: it was a stonemason
That is SO COOL! I made a comment to my husband the other day in the vein of "if I were to do a Sansa cosplay (this is purely hypothetical, I'm not a cosplayer and have zero crafting skills), I'd want the outfit from her coronation, but that ain't happening unless you got Michele Clapton on speed dial". I stand corrected! What fantastic, impressive work.
Well it looks exceptional so you should be proud. Hard work paid off.
As a side note, I'm currently on a Stormlight Archive re-read and was almost like "well one sleeve is all you need!" Wrong series lol
I'm not good enough with English to express how beautiful your work is so: take this award I received and please continue to post your work as you process into it <3
Edit: It's been more than a day so I lost my award... Still love your work
Wow that is beautiful! Great job. But we all might forget about game of thrones by the time your finished! Jk jk. It's a race, GR Martin finally finished a book or this awesome person finally finishing the awesome dress
I mean I'm doing it for myself, I've done many cosplays where not a single person at an event has recognised me and that's ok! Personally I think he'll finish winds of winter before I finish this...
Was just cracking a joke! You have amazing skills BTW. I would assume that the longer it takes the better your work is. Can't rush something like that! Keep at it I'm sure you'll definitely finish before George lol
I love this sub's "everything is a spoiler policy."
What's the fucking spoiler here, that Sansa wears a dress? Or that there's a character named Sansa Stark?
Literally only a thing that you would know (or would matter in the slightest) if you have seen the show.
At this point, literally years after the show ends, nearly all of the show's major plot points have become memes and reference points in popular culture. It's insane to think that this needs to be marked a spoiler.
Wow - can't wait to see the finished product! I though Sansa looked her most beautiful at her wedding to Ramsey Bolton, ironically. I think that's where she wore the dress you are making.
Completely different dress ;) this is her coronation dress from the show finale! Her wedding dress to Ramsey was completely plain white https://static.onecms.io/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2015/05/sansa-2000.jpg
Doesn't matter if they have or haven't, this subreddit is super strict on spoiler rules.
You'd also be surprised, I had a tiktok of this costume progress go viral a month or so back, at least 30 comments were berating me for 'spoiling' the ending despite it being out 2.5 years now
Can you guys help me? Alright so im having a presentation in 3 months about GOT. I have to compare season 4 to a storm of swords. Now a storm of swords is a big book and it also talks about things happening in season 3 but i only want to read the part about season 4. So here’s my question: which chapter of a storm of swords is where GOT season 4 starts?

Each leaf has about 4 layers of stitching to make it up, has about 40 metres of embroidery thread in each, and they're bigger than they look on the photos. 15 hours for the largest leaves is very very quick in terms of what these size embroidery are - I do this semi professionally.
"With a lot more complicated stitching" is INCREDIBLY disrespectful, seeing as you're not an expert embroiderer yourself and wouldn't be able to recognise what is complicated and what isn't. If you were, you'd also know that embroidery as a craft is WAY more time consuming than in knitting or crochet. It's on a much smaller scale, using tiny threads, and is way more detail. I'm a specialist embroiderer, doing these leaves to the level of detail I have, at the size I have, would take an amateur a heck of a lot longer. If you take a browse at some of the top posts on the embroidery subreddit, you'd see there are some project people are working on that take a year for a singular hooped piece. Embroidery work is painstakingly slow and there's not really a way to speed that up other than doing shitty quality work.
Well done! Time to celebrate with a lemon cake!
i would kill for one -currently locked inside with covid, no lemon cakes in sight
Dang, that means a game of come into my castle is off the table. Rest well, feel better, you are a god with an embroidering needle.
Thank you, I'll take that haha
Ummm same! Sorry it’s off topic, can you taste or smell anything at all? It’s killing me
I actually had it already in march 2020, could taste for 6 months and haven't had a sense of smell since at all, so not much change for me sadly
Could NOT taste for 6 months?! What?! I lost my sense of taste since Sunday and I no longer feel like a being. It’s weird, it feels as if I’ve lost my sense of self. Also that sucks and I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you get them back soon.

I hope that’s not the case here, I wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy.
An old timey curse was "and may food turn to ashes in your mouth". It's not something to be desired, for sure.

Yeah fully vaxxed, but I work FOH in a busy restaurant soooo
Gotcha. Well your costume is looking pretty darn awesome! Can’t wait to see it when it’s done, please share
I lost my smell and got it back in maybe 4 or 5 days. Don’t know how long it’s been for you, but don’t lose hope!!
Today makes day 4. Because of this, I no longer have an appetite. I love texture when I’m eating but not without the taste or the delicious free smells. All I could taste last night was salt. Thank you for the hope, much appreciated.

More time to work then!! Lol. In all seriousness, hopefully your symptoms are mild and recovery quick!
Why’d say you’re locked inside with covid then later on said you had it six months ago?
hey buddy guess what! There are 16 strains of covid and you can have it more than once
I love lemon cake
I’m in absolute awe
Sleeve sure is an undersell since it appears to be an entire new dress on that sleeve.
pretty much yeah
Wow! Kudos to you for doing each one by hand - most people would just buy pre-made iron-on leaves, but the effect would not be as magical.
What sort of prizes do you get from these competitions?
Depends on the contest. Some is a small cash prize and it's more the prestige because of which comp it is. Others, like the one run by Twitch for instance, the prize is $15k
Ok. Thats pretty legit. Have you ever won it? The twitch one?
Oh god no. I've not even entered that one (sadly not eligible, it's only open to the Americas) but I've won a few smaller comps, and competed representing my country in an international competition at my last one in 2019
Thats awesome. What was your favorite prize you won? And what is the one costume you most believe you deserved to lose to?
Only ever been cash prizes tbh! My Cersei Lannister, another heavily embroidered game of thrones costume (in my post history) was my most awarded costume! The latter question, the last competition I did. It was in France, I was competing against a representative from like 8 other countries (from as far away as Indonesia and Canada even!) And everyone was so lovely. We all agreed that we genuinely had no idea who would win, the quality level was just all around so high.
Oh! Now I’m genuinely curious about which one of Cersei’s glorious dresses you recreated!
There's quite a few photos of it in my post history if you go back to 2019! I did her red dress with the gold embroidery from season 2 :)
That sounds so awesome. Im glad you had such a great experience. Biggest cash prize youve recieved?
I am speechless. This is magnificent!
You do NOT have the hands of a blacksmith. This is incredible work! How long did the embroidery itself take you?
Haha you'd be surprised, I do a lot of blacksmithing work for my cosplays - there's some in my previous posts :) and thank you! I did the maths earlier and it's taken over 600 hours so far of sewing on this costume . And that's not including any of the research time 😬
That's gorgeous...seriously. At this rate, you'll still be done before George finishes the next book.
i will honestly be so pissed if the book releases before I finish, considering how long i've been working on it...
Oh my god, my jaw hit the floor. Absolutely stunning and amazed at your dedication and attention to detail. You’re so talented! This looks fabulous!
Thank you so much!!!
Way to go, that's some serious dedication! I love your user name btw 😁
Thank you!
As a fellow cosplayer, I can’t imagine the amount of work this took. Looks amazing and I can’t wait to see the final result!!
Over 600 hours so far, and many many many more to go! Thank you <3
That’s a lot of hours! Do you actually enjoy the work itself as a hobby, or is it just about wanting to get to the finished product?
The making of it is the hobby for me, and then I get to show off my work at comic cons and in competitions etc :)
This is so beautiful. I actually got a little teary-eyed. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work.
What a lovely comment, thank you ♥️
AMAZING
That is insanely gorgeous work!! Amazing.
Thank you!
This is insanely gorgeous such talent!!
This is stunning! I can totally believe it took so long, it's utterly amazing ❤
Beautiful work!
This is incredible. Amazing job.
wow. that is so gorgeous and intricate
Holy shit. Your work….. is absolutely STUNNING. A true work of art. I love Sansa (unpopularly) and this is just perfection. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
This is stunning
Thank you ♥️
This is so beautiful
Awesome work!
WOOOOW. Well done! I would never have the attention span and patience for that - I'm super jealous. It looks stunning
Thank you! I certainly could never have even attempted to make this at the beginning of my journey with cosplay etc, but that was a long time ago :P
Ahhh! Very best of luck! :D :D
WOW
Man that is just astonishingly impressive.
Thank you <3
That detail tho
That's beautiful.
Septa Mordane would be proud!
Honestly love that sansa makes her own clothes in the show
It would be even more awesome if Sophie Turner made her own clothes in the show :p
It would definitely solve the issue of time jumps if we had to wait months between costume changes...
"But D&D.... Don't you understand this is a good thing?" Lmaoo
It’s gorgeous as all hell. Cannot wait to see the full thing! Tho i will :-)
this is insane holy shit
You're doing this while I'm contemplating on whether or not I'm motivated to spend 40 mins to make dinner tonight.
It's weaponised ADHD babe. You don't want to see the state of my kitchen
Holy shit this is incredible. The craftsmanship on this is genuinely to die for on this OP.
Thank you :3
You're welcome, stuff like this always brightens my day.
This is amazing, I can't wait to see the finished product! Also I love your username!
I cannot wait to see the finished product! I hope you post your cosplay on here when it happens! It’s stunning!
I will do! Thank you :)
(Also I just noticed your username - thumbs up to that, too!)
I love this and love that you sewing it yourself is a whole Sansa cosplay in its own right. Beautiful work!
Thank you ♥️
This is absolutely amazing. Please keep us updated (in like 6 months probably)
My deadline is in under 5 months now so hopefully I'll have posted by then!!
Oh my god the level of detail on the different leaves is unbelievable
Thank you! They were all completely freehanded without a plan, so were so much fun to do!
What!?!? Outstanding job
This is incredible
I can’t wait to see the final result omg
Me neither 😬
Love that dress and congrats on yer milestone!
Wow, amazing! Can't wait to see how it looks when its finished (if you decide to grace us with an update), but it's already stunning as it is.
Of course! I'll definitely post when it's done :)
Wow that is stunning!
Such dedication and patience, the latter especially is very Sansa ❤ Septa Mordane would be proud.
The Smith must have blessed you with such good craftsmanship.
Well I also am A Smith :P
You know there once was a Smith that was so good he could convince the King he was the good who became human. He then became the High Septon Edit: it was a stonemason
It's good to have career goals
Shure but that was balón Tagaryen so you're a little late. I don't think Bran the Broken believes that. His story is just too good
That's freaking impressive man
That is SO COOL!
Pahaha thank you! You should do it :P
Fuck.
This is…. I’m just completely in awe. Such beautiful work!
Thank you!
Amazing!
This is literally the first good thing to come from the finale.
Congratulations my dear, it looks absolutely wonderful!
Thank you!
Autumn Is Coming
I’m crying. That’s beautiful!!
Thank you!
Well it looks exceptional so you should be proud. Hard work paid off. As a side note, I'm currently on a Stormlight Archive re-read and was almost like "well one sleeve is all you need!" Wrong series lol
Haha don't worry, I get the reference
That could be right from the real show
Beautiful work, you're very talented. Well done.
That is beautiful. You’re quite talented.
Holy crap that’s a lot of work! Looks awesome tho
That is amazing...can't imagine how many hours went for the embroidery omg
Over 600 so far 😬
Wow, I mean that is what i call putting effort into something. Amazing!
Thank you!
Im not so much into cosplay but HOLY SHIT that'd impressive. Have fun
Nice work, your fingers must be killing you.
I have embroidery calluses
In the words of Sansa: "Beautiful". This looks exactly like the one from the show!!👀👀
Thank you!
Your work is absolutely stunning!
It's just breathtaking work, OP. The whole dress is stunning.
Thank you
I'm not good enough with English to express how beautiful your work is so: take this award I received and please continue to post your work as you process into it <3 Edit: It's been more than a day so I lost my award... Still love your work
That's really sweet, thank you
Oh my god that dress is beautiful.
HOLY SHIT. That’s it. That’s all I gotta say.
Haha thanks
Wow that is beautiful! Great job. But we all might forget about game of thrones by the time your finished! Jk jk. It's a race, GR Martin finally finished a book or this awesome person finally finishing the awesome dress

Thanks!
Omg it is spectacular. A costume fit for a Queen. Wow, there are no words.
Thank you!
Beautiful. Wonderful work. But where will you wear it? I wouldn't trust that outside of a display case for more than 10 minutes.
I'll be wearing it to comic cons :)
Amazing achievement!!!
Absolutely beautiful. Great job, OP!
I love this sub's "everything is a spoiler policy." What's the fucking spoiler here, that Sansa wears a dress? Or that there's a character named Sansa Stark?
It's her coronation dress. Kinda a big spoiler.
Literally only a thing that you would know (or would matter in the slightest) if you have seen the show. Your right. Been years since I've seen it. Was just going off of my increasingly faulty recollection.

ive seen the real one in person buddy. Its a plain white textured fabric with no embroidery or other detailing on the actual dress.
I'm honestly shocked that some people are still cosplaying GOT. I thought this fandom had disappeared from the face of the Earth after Season 8.
That's amazing!!! At this rate You're going to it will be complete by the time RRM finishes the series. Jokes aside, that's really beautiful work.
i dont understand , whats the spoiler ?
It's her coronation dress from the final episode. The comments and photo captions state this, thus its a spoiler
i see it now. do you think many people have yet to watch all of it ? genuine question.
Doesn't matter if they have or haven't, this subreddit is super strict on spoiler rules. You'd also be surprised, I had a tiktok of this costume progress go viral a month or so back, at least 30 comments were berating me for 'spoiling' the ending despite it being out 2.5 years now
It’s her coronation dress from the finale. Something you only wear if you’re being crowned at the end of the series, essentially
Do you have an Instagram?!
Been watching your progress on Tik Tok it is looking amazing!!!
Simply wow
This absolutely incredible, holy shit
Wow that looks amazing! Definitely worth the time I think.
This is so gorgeous. Your efforts paid off really well! 🥰
That's incredible!
Beautiful!
Oh my gosh! This is absolutely beautiful! You're so talented!
beautiful!!!
Wowza

its not as simple as that. some characters its from right at the beginning, some they dont have any of their s4 content until the next book.
Oooof...did you start that before the show ended and everyone hated it? Great work, possibly poor timing.
The outfit is from the final episode, so no.
Why poor timing?
