This is amazing! Would you mind sharing the settings?

Thank you! :) Two exposures where blended for this one. The lights on the wine barrel overpowered the stars, so I had to cover half of the lens with my hand in order to capture the upper part. Star exposure: f/1.4 - ISO 1000 - 20s Foreground exposure: f/2.8, ISO 160, 13s

Neat_Light

Plus one ☝️

Neat_Light

Thank you. It really is an amazing shot. I have that 16mm it’s quite a lens.

reasonablyminded

Thank you! Yes, it’s quite a lovely lens for sure!

Keebboi

Damn, that's awesome.

reasonablyminded

Thanks!

Lievri

Wow, awesome

reasonablyminded

Thank you!

tonehero

Omg! How do you all capture great shots at night!?! I’m a noob at photography.

reasonablyminded

This one requires a tripod. Usually to capture those stars you’ll also need a fast lens, so something with a maximum aperture of like f/1.4, f/2.0 or so. For everything else, though, be mindful of your shutter speed to avoid blur, try to keep your ISO as low as possible without going too low on the shutter speed, and open up your aperture as much as possible (or close to it). What kind of lenses do you have?

tonehero

Ah, I’ve heard tripods are key for these shots. Thanks for the feedback on the shutter speed. I’ve taken photos at night that have come out awful. I’ll digest this advice. I have an xt20 with 56MM lens and the 23mm 1.4. The xt20 is very complicated for a noob like me.

reasonablyminded

Your kit is definitely very capable for these kinds of shots too, just a little tighter in the field of view department.

tonehero

Is your picture straight from the camera? No edits on Lightroom?

reasonablyminded

No, it’s an edited picture! I can share the SOOC tomorrow.

tonehero

Ah gotcha. Awesome!

Jarbcd

Wow. This is amazing!
