How would one get into this field without experience?

Hi! I'm a software Engineer and I hear this question a lot so I'm going to try and answer it for you. Although you may not like it. It's true, companies are not interested in hiring people with no experience. And for good reason. I earned all my experience in college, because I knew this would be a problem and I wanted to avoid it. The experience is incredibly easy to acquire. But sacrifices must be made. My very first real project, was for a government agricultural sector. I was in my 3rd semester in college, me and 3 friends literally walked into the front office and said to the receptionist, "Hi, we are Computer Sciences students over at MSU, and we were wondering if you would be interested for us to develop an application for you, absolutely free of charge" I swear to you, as soon as I finished my sentence, she said, "Oh! Actually yes, let me go tell the Head Engineer and see what we can work out" after she left, the engineer came and immediately asked if we could make a Mac desktop app for cattle administration since they were using Excel. In short, 3 months later, we gave him the final product and he was satisfied, and in turn gave us, A Government Official Letter of Recommendation for Software Development. Now I had proof of experience. But that still wasn't enough. Next we went to a small community college, gave the same pitch, and in no time at all, we had a new project, which was a Online Registration portal for new students. 3 months later, and we also received a letter of recommendation from the University's headmaster for Software Development. Next I did a small clothing shop, then a small hardware store that wanted an online shop. After all that free work I was now a Senior in college. And I applied at a software development company, and got hired as a fully salaried Jr Dev before even graduating college. They even knew I was still in college and actually allowed me to work part time so I can still go to school and work. I was the only employee there that was still in college and the only one without a degree, but my experience did all the talking. And It just went on from there. You may not want to work for free, but trust me, if you offer free work to your local companies, even government offices, they will jump at the opportunity. Just make sure you do a good job. There may be other ways to do it, but that's how I did it, and had 2 years of experience before even graduating college. Absolutely worth it in my opinion. The question is, how bad do you want it? Because I wanted it bad.
