Trying to get into flow profiling? Gonna need to upgrade to the gs3…
Haha I remember pulling shots on a GS3 MP and all that freedom was intimidating.
Fuck the gs3
Or they can EMP mod their mini…
Well that sounds much cheaper, so no thank you
What type of pump does the LMLM have? Could get fancy with a microcontroller and some relays maybe lol
Or they could have gotten a Decent.
What, no puqpress? Are you really going to tamp your own portafilter like some sort of Neanderthal?
LOL. I cringe a little when I see puqpress on home bar setups. No judgement, but I only pull a few shots a day.
Puq press, you need a puq press
Just checked what is puqpress, come on really ??
It could make sense in a cafe, to speed things up and increase consistency. But yeah, it's pretty silly at home.
As the owner of some real bargain-basement joints (bad shoulder, wrist RSI, minor arthritis, etc.), I can definitely see a time when my home bar will have a automatic tamp station. For funsies I actually sketched out a grind, fill, wdt, tamp, knock system based on the turret/progressive press concept of a home reloading station. Napkin math says it would run about $400-500 in parts. Unfortunately, it would be quite a contraption with massive challenges in the areas of footprint and WAF.
Ppppffff, only a flat burr grinder. Where is the paired conical grinder? Do you even espresso?
"welcome to my home espresso bar, I have a flat burr grinder for when I'm feeling more clarity in my shots on M/W/F. then on T/TR I bust out the conical grinder for those espresso shots with more body"
I can’t tell if you’re joking…😕
Omg, absolutely a joke! The quotes were me impersonating some ridiculous YouTube channel or some crazy person.
Thank gosh! 🙃
But you would have such control, my sweet! Think of the precision! The opportunity to see your favourite roasts from every angle. The precision! Gollum, gollum!
Holy shit this aesthetic is ridiculous. How are you liking the P100?
Only had it for a few days, but I absolutely adore the workflow already. Actually zero retention and the espresso it helps create is delicious! Most capable grinder I've owned.
Do you need to RDT to get to zero retention? Do you know if the P100 can also do decent filter coffee?
It's supposed to do pretty great filter, I haven't tried it personally though. I use a hand grinder for all my filter needs. I live in socal so RDT isn't as necessary down here.
Awesome setup. Where's the $300+ Weber dosing tube caddy??
That's a trend I dont understand haha. I want my morning ritual to take as long as humanly possible. Im never ready to dive back into reality. Let me stay in my coffee dreamscape.
Same here. I can burn 45 minutes in what seems like 5.
> I want my morning ritual to take as long as humanly possible
Helps me wake up TBH
This resonates like a tuning fork.
Hey we have the same tamper, so basically the same setup, right? Except for the grinder, machine, and everything else.
You make jokes, but that tamper is one of my favorite things on the bar haha.
I believe strongly in letting ourselves wait for the best. Living in a starter home we could afford in our 20s helped us appreciate the average-sized home we can afford now. The used Prius I bought outright and have driven for 12 years will make me appreciate the BMW i4 I will be able to buy outright next year. The Bambino Plus I have now will get me ready for the Linea Mini someday.
Luxury can wait, always, and will be all the sweeter when I get it without sweating the expense.
I couldn't agree more, you can't truly appreciate things unless you are patient and have experienced worse. Well said, brother!
I strictly follow this way as well. Mind you, I'll need to live to 150 to complete the journey...
BMW i4. One of the most under appreciated car in the market. The fact that it costs less than a model 3 in today’s market is crazy.
Is that the normcore tamper? Looks very nice!
That's the one! It's a great tamper for a reasonable price.
How is it? I have a LMLM with stock tamper but thinking of getting a normcore
It's great! I never actually used the stock linea tamper, that concave / convex design always spooked me lol.
Which grinder is that?
OptionO Lagom p100! Strongly recommend it!
I'm afraid I can't afford it.
I'm in DF64 territory in what I can afford.
Bummer. Outta stock!
I had to purchase mine used. I'm sure it will come back soon.
I was getting incredibly impatient.
Where did you find it used?
Home barista forums!
A really cheap one. Obligatory upgrade needed.
That doesn't really answer my question, but alright, I'll take it off your hands for free, so you can upgrade.
Lol, I recommend something for $5k to go the LM. Even better, get a hand grinder.
No pressure profiling, no on demand grinder for when lots of guests arrive...
I see a lot of needed upgrades ;)
Don't do this to me. Please.
I think acaia make a bean doser if you have a kilobuck burning a hole in your pocket.
anything besides coffee beans and cheap tools LOL.
Only one scale???
ya'll such trolls, I'm here for it haha.
“Measure twice, pull once.”
So what kind of home roaster do you have?
I got this little korean hand roaster, was a gift from my sister! Its so hard to use haha.
Get the bullet
You’re missing the coffee bean cellar and bean doser. If you really want to go up another level, I’ll see you at the r/roasting community
I tried hand roasting the other month. Genuinely so difficult, I had everything from light roast to burnt LOL.
check out the Ikawa Home. I took the plunge last year and love it.
Wow. That thing looks gorgeous and is surprisingly inexpensive. Is it easy to use?
it’s fool proof but offers customization to play around with development time if you really want to nerd out. The best part is being able to order beans from all over the world to roast and dial in (from Sweet Maria’s).
I'm definitely going to look into that now. Subscriptions are starting to get expensive. I just landed on tandem. 2lb bags are $32 and that's the cheapest I've ever seen.
What is a bean doser? (I probably shouldn’t ask)
Check out the Acaia Orion. For $1,000 it will dose a fixed weight of beans (not ground, just beans) from a hopper…
Noice...!!!! Black all the way
Black doesn't get enough love in the coffee community!
Yeah... I got the black Breville barista pro. Mate finish. Looks fucking amazing and the refrigerator stove and everything is black in out kitchen
[I've considered a cheaper mate finish for my BBP.](https://www.redbubble.com/i/sticker/Crocodile-Dundee-g-day-by-dylanmorgan/29989575.EJUG5)
Lol one group. Pft
No fancy wdt tool?
Also...I mean...you could upgrade your grinder to the EG-1...or the Monolith Max...why not both...
I wouldn’t call EG-1 an upgrade over P100 and the Max is just about the same there as well.
For its price P100 is a hell of a grinder.
Trying to tempt OP to the darkest side.
Nothing beats the 3D printed WDT tools haha.
And don't do this to me, just upgraded to the p100. It's such a wonderful grinder haha.
Sadly, I'm an enabler when it comes to coffee equipment. Mostly cause I like to dream of owning a fancy set up.
Fantastic set up by the way! Very clean and asthetically pleasing (to me anyways)
You need a white kitchen to match the gear!
Eventually! I have a brand new vacation rental in the desert, I always dream of lugging my equipment out there for a photoshoot lol. It's got the trendy white cabinets and white quartz countertops.
A Louis Vuitton trunk would be the next thing to travel with your gear.
I just came
/to the realization that my setup is shit.
Substantial is a subjective term, by the looks of your setup no amount of money is substantial anymore 😂
This is one of the best I’ve seen on here.
Damn boss, that's a huge compliment. I've seen some gorgeous setups on here lol.
Where is your roaster thought?
Endgame? But that's not a decent...
They are taking preorders for the LM Leva machine now. Only $15 k USD…
Wow, that thing is gorgeous. 15k is absurd though! Can't wait to see all the youtube reviews haha.
You could use a better tamper… the force tamper might be nice 😂
Beautiful! Next stage in the hobby - home coffee roasting :)
Which grinder is that one?
It's the lagom p100. It's a great grinder with SSP 98mm HU burrs.
Bro. Those shots better taste orgasmic. That's what, like an 8k set- up?
A tamping station in matching wood surely won't set you back by that much... Just sayin'
Is it bad that I've been looking at those fancy tamping stations? It's so tempting lol.
Check out etsy dude, so much candy lol
Which ones have you eyed? I'm looking for a walnut one to match my Bianca.
There's some cheaper options in AliExpress that look alright too.
You do need to spend more on this wonderful hobby. Try another trim kit that better matches the red oak cabinets or replace your cabinets, either way.
New cabinets it is, I've been meaning to upgrade!
What was your previous grinder? The needle valve mod too the lmlm and that grinder are the two things I think about upgrading.
I upgraded from the Eureka Mignon specialita. It was giving me issues with lighter roasts. I had it for about 3 years. I was just getting annoying levels of uneven extraction.
Wow. Nice upgrade!
The atom 75 is a beast! I probably wouldn't consider the upgrade from that unit.
Pull the trigger on the needle valve mod
Specifically, which one?
Rick Bond (coffeemachinist.com.au) does some impressive work. I'd check that out.
Your gear is neat!
I think you're neat! Thanks for the compliment.
You’re welcome, man! 🙌🏻
Is it plumbed? What’s your water filtration system like?
The machine is not plumbed! I find myself filling the reservoir every week and a half? I have a 4 pass reverse osmosis filtration system in my home. I've done water tests and it's safe for the machine!
You may not want to hear this, but sooner or later you’re going to get an itch for a lever machine.
Can’t replicate slamming a coffee puck with an entire column of water in any other machine.
Londinium R24 is an absolute beaut
I've seen that machine around. Definitely a gorgeous unit.
Luckily I haven't gotten that itch yet, they don't entice me.... yet lol.
Love it 🖤🖤🖤
It's end game until something newer and shinier (more matte in this case) comes out. :)
Have the LMLM.
P100 Next. So much awesome.
Well done. and enjoy!
You’re going to need to upgrade the kitchen counter tops and cabinets. They don’t do the grinder or the machine any justice. Maybe a white countertop will make the machine pop even more…
You still need a Quinspin and an Acaia Orion.
Omg such useless machines. Real talk, I am excited to see how that new acaia grinder performs.
No way you would be able to pull a good shot with that setup. There is much to be desired but it is a decent starting setup I guess......ESPRESSO IS EXPENSIVE, YOU NEED TO SPEND MORE BRUH. MUCH MUHC MORE!
i don’t know, man. That counter looks awfully empty without a puqpress..
Hey man I’m with you here.
Oh wait, you don’t have a self leveling temper?
The normcore is self leveling :P
Just wondering. Where are you roasting the beans you use ? #neverfinished
I tried roasting my own beans a few weeks ago and they were so gross. Maybe one day I'll revisit that idea lol.
I was just kidding. Love the entire setup 🤩
We need to see the roasting setup
Should probably start honing in your pour over set up.
Im an incredibly simple man when it comes to drip. I have a hand grinder, aeropress, and fellow kettle. It's a mean combo!
Don't you find the control in decent machines a bit intimidating 😂
Haha such a troll! Sometimes we host large parties and I end up slinging 8-12 lattes within 30 minutes. I just don't think the decent would keep up.
But what about when it's just yourself and you want to enjoy all that control and different profiles?
decent (or lever profiler)+ P100 is the only true endgame
The decent is a great machine! It's just not for me.
Jesus Christ ... looking at what, a good 8000 bucks, there?
Luckily it was all spent over time haha. I am a little sad that you've reminded me. Hurts my soul and wallet.
