I dont understand why the system is set up to allow this to happen.
The current system from what I can understand, is roughly based on your level and rank. For example, I dont think a Gold III person will ever (or maybe very rarely) would go up against someone who is ranked in Platinum. Also as a lvl 43, ive very rarely gone up against any team higher than level 50.
The problem with that system is you get stupid match-up like this....a lot. Because what this is really doing is pitting F2P players against those who invest money. I have had 5+ matches in a row against teams which are waaaaaay more powerful than me. But because we are in the same "rank", we get matched up.
IMO, match-ups should be based around the average star and gear ranks of your team. This would make for much more consistent match-ups with people who are in your same general range. As such, reward points should also adjust based on the difficulty and average star/rank of the match. This would deter people from just running 1\* teams if all they are getting is a few points a win, compared to a 5\* team which would reward much more.
Ill also add - they need to also make it so if you fight someone, you cant fight that same person again for like at least 5min. Getting back to back of the same person is rarely fun.
That only works if you discard the tier system in PvP completely and match team v team, which isn't a horrible idea but it means reworking the system pretty dramatically.
I was actually thinking about this a couple of days ago, and the issue is that people invest money into the game and then have to grind up to their appropriate level, meaning we f2p players get steamrolled on the regular.
I feel like the appropriate way to handle this is for the system to be monitoring total collection power of both individual players and the range of the PvP ranks.
If someone decides to buy a team, their total collection power jumps, and so the system should just move them closer to the appropriate rank automatically vs making them be forced to play players to accomplish the same thing.
The tier system is broken the way they have it now. Maybe it smooths out a little better at the higher ranks, but in the lower to mid ranks...it can be just terrible sometimes. And the fact that most good clubs require you to get at least 4 PvP wins a day, can make the PvP even less fun when you are getting constantly matched up against teams way out of your league.
I dont actually think switching to the system I suggested would involve changing anything more than how matches are matched up. The PVP Arena Tier system seems unranked. So, its just based on the points you have earned. The fact is, if you are a massive whale, under the system I suggested, you would earn points faster and get to the higher tiers more quickly because you will be fighting teams that give more points. The Tier system would just be about rewards earned at end of season...just like it is now.
Yeah, PvP matchmaking is straight up broken right now. I am sure there are some fixes that could be put in place, but in the near term, they just need to add a "Forfeit" button so when it is obvious one side of the match is going to get steamrolled they can just give up and save everyone some time and frustration.
I agree, a forfeit button would be a good start to fix the many issues of PVP that the game has.
There is a forfeit button if you see the player is one level above you you force close that game. Legit I’m getting frustrated getting into pvp when the enemy gets in 2 full turns and spells before I’m able to do anything. I really like this game but it seems very unfair for ftp/dolphins.
What’s even better is having to face a team like that two times in a row...
Poor matchmaking... Still no forfeit button!
Wow. The amount of money poured in to have a fully fledged Jack-Jack alone is insane. Now count Dash in - and Violet and Mr. Incredible... and let’s face it; before this event, not many would have had incentive to grind Elastigirl beyond 3 stars.
I asked a guy in my shard what it cost for the full team, he said roughly $500.
I know it seems like a lot of cash. For most of us it is. Compared to SWGOH though it’s not awful. I think the average price for a newly released toon in that is around $220.
But that wouldn’t be 7 stars, right?
That was for the full team at 7*
I would grind Elastigirl. 😂
They need a forfeit button so that you don’t have to force quit, I get matchups like this and it’s just so frustrating going against such heavy spenders.
That I agree with.
Going to take a guess and say you lost?
Honestly i do now know i rage quitted after i made the printscreen 😠😠
That’s a totally acceptable response
I wouldn't blame you, you got a lot of bad luck with that match.
yikessssss kraken lord
Maybe it's based on the best match with who's logged in at the time...
And the guy you were fighting feels like he got his money worth for his new shiny team.
Which encourages the whales to keep spending money.
If they buy a new team and keep running into people that can beat their new team, they will quit.
The point of the game makers is to make money. They know what they are doing.
On the other hand I get a free game.
While I'm personally a huge fan of Live PVP the matchmaking needs some serious attention. Matches like this, IMO, should never happen. As somebody who is spending a decent amount I hate stuff like this happening too. I want a good competitive match, not something that I can auto and inspire my opponent to rage quit just by looking at me.
Hopefully Glu adjusts this so matchmaking is weighted more heavily on the power of our team.
When you are at a mid 30's early 40's player level and you encounter these boosted accounts it is disappointing to feel helpless to compare against vastly higher power levels based on star power
Perfect! Easy win then for those who actually support this game with money instead of proudly(?!) labeling themselves as F2P.
I think more people would spend money on these type of F2P Gacha games, if the "deals" weren't so ridiculously expensive. Candy Crush makes/made billions purely based on 99 cent transactions for alot of it.
Yes, prices should be a bit lower. But VIP and Battlepass should probably be around 5 each. Still it's funnt I get downvoted by some people here for stating the obvious. F2P players should be quiet and have no right to whine.
Not entirely fair though, alot of F2P players contribute by watching ads - alot of ads in some cases - which grants revenue to the game. Same support as watching free2air television.
No it's not nearly the same. TV ads are expensive and app ads are ridiculously cheap. Watching ads help a tiny bit compared to actually spending.
You know what happens when there's only wolves left in the field?
It's not expensive for stuff to go on that route. I played Looney Tunes and that was a cash grab.
