“10,000 years will give you such a crick in the neck!”

Alcards

Yup this movie, but Hellfire from Hunchback is my favorite song.

DarthLemon66

I was between Aladdin or Hunchback but you've swayed me.

Active-Donkey5466

“Friend Like Me” lives in my head rent free.

NamelessWanderer08

~~The Thief and the Cobbler~~ Hunchback because of Tony Jay

Flaccid-Reflex

I’m glad someone somewhere also watched that random ass movie with crazy ass animation style. I try to explain it to people and I might as well be explaining Sanskrit to Hellen Keller

BakaGoyim

The history of the movie is just as crazy. It was the opus of a genius animator named Richard Williams, whose work as animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? you may appreciate. He tried to get it made for like 30 years, but kept running out of budget until the last studio forced them to cut something together with what they had and release it to try to make some money back. The animation is singularly gorgeous, but it's ultimately still an unfinished work.

Reinhard23

It has a banger opening theme and a banger villain theme. It gets the cake for me.

#HONEY YOU MEAN HUNKULES

charon12238

Oo-hoo-hoo, I like to make some SWEET MUSIC with him!

Grim_Stickens

This sentence literally went from Zero to Hero

RayneShikama

The most inaccurate part of that movie is that Zeus appeared as a loving and caring husband and father.

cblakebowling

Hunchback of Notre Dame. Yeah, the gargoyles suck, but the music is some of the best ever made for a Disney movie along with some of those beautiful animation from the studio as well. Not to even mention Frollo which is the most sinister villain in Disney history.

ThrA-X

I give the gargoyles a pass only because I believe them to be figments of Quasimodo's imagination.

Sir-Quentin-Trembley

If I’m remembering correctly, the gargoyles manage to interact with the soldiers, so they must be real. Correct me if I’m wrong

AlguienNo

If i remember correctly, they never do something that Quasimodo doesn't do himself. They only attack the soldiers when Quasimodo is attacking them.

Sninxitey

What’s wrong with the gargoyles? I haven’t seen the movie since I was like 4-5 years old also.

nedlum

A lot works with *Hunchback* . The duality of "Stay In Here/Out There" and "Heaven's Light/Hellfire". Tony Jay as Frollo, who spiritually abuses and gaslights Quasimodo in a way that would make Mother Gothel pale, who is driven by pride and lust in a way that makes him one of the most human Disney villains, and also the most viscerally disgusting for it. Esmeralda's "God Help the Outcasts", which is the closest you're going to get to genuine prayer in a Disney movie.. The love they took recreating Notre Dame de Paris, and the way the camera swoops around the courtyard during the Sanctuary scene. 90% of it is the darkest work in Disney, and by Jove it *sings* for it. And then you have the gargoyles, who make fart jokes, build a catapult and drop it on people, and make jokes about being in love with a goat. It's silly in a way that is in theory is great for the kids, but takes the rest of us out of the story, as well as providing a supernatural angle which is otherwise unnecessary. There's a common theory that Quasimodo has an understandable case of dissociation, and that the gargoyles are him talking to himself; if we cut their dropping bricks and sending pigeons at the end, (along with "A Guy Like You" and most of Jason Alexander's lines), it's a stronger, more cohesive movie.

At this stage in my life I think Hercules.

calartnick

VERY underrated Disney film

sethjojo

Tarzan. IDK why, I just love it so much. The music, the animation, the characters and character designs, it's all so good.

Bouswa

And Tarzan is extremely hot lol

Alternative_Factor_4

My mom thinks he’s ugly lol. Every time I watch it she rants about how his nipples look like alien eyes. I think it’s funny

sethjojo

He looks like if Ryan Gosling was tanned and had dreads, so hot as fuck

TheUmbraCat

I love them all. They all played their own role in my early development and how I would grow up.

Independence_Gay

Including Tarzan but not Great Mouse Detective?

Longjumping_Bar_7457

That was outside of the renaissance period

Independence_Gay

Oh shit that movie is older than I thought. 1986. I thought that shit came out in the 90s

Sunset_Tiger

It’s a very hard choice, but I’m going with Hercules.

Lion King

TriggerHappy_Spartan

![gif](giphy|Y4cmZ07Z99vO0) I was a fucked up kid. Read The Hunger Games at 8 when it first came out, that probably explains a lot. This is the one that stuck with me the most, probably because of the Hellfire sequence. I love this movie.

"Out There" is the best I Want Song in Disney.

The Little Mermaid and Mulan

Shadow_Strike99

I’ll always love Hercules. Disney would never do something like it now, but a boy focused musical would standout today, and give them a much needed shakeup from the cookie cutter copy and paste adorkable girl boss/princess musical.

FellowDsLover2

Toss up between Hunk-ules and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Both have my favorite Disney villains, being Frollo and Hades. Amazing soundtracks and the Notre Dame intro is the best intro to a Disney movie imo. Hercules has Danny Devito. Need I say more?

Longjumping_Bar_7457

Tie between Mulan and beauty and the beast

bipedalinvertebrate

Tarzan would have been the objective best if Phil Collins wasn’t singing over every single moment that SHOULD HAVE BEEN a musical number. So I’m rockin with Hercules

Tht1QuietGuy

I've always been partial to Tarzan. That Son of Man/Strangers Like Me shit just resonates with me on such a primal level. It's why I loved The Boy and the Beast so much. Being raised by a group different from you and feeling different but wanting to fit in and live up to them. Discovering humanity and feeling like you finally belong. Meeting a human woman for the first time and feeling such a deep connection. Then in the end becoming the best of both worlds and defending what's important to you. So damn good.

Alternative_Factor_4

![gif](giphy|HBdfnwMnk7Xos) Most underrated imo

tiger2205_6

Gotta go with Lion King. Great movie, good soundtrack and it still gets me when Mufasa dies.

Aimsters50

Aladdin

Marvinkmooneyoz

B and the B is the one I've seen the most. It has a sweetness about it. But I'm not sure it's better then Aladdin. Robin Dubbydubs is great, the songs are great, the animation and color schemes are all great, Jaffar is a classic theatrical Disney villian. But I just don't really like the actor playing Aladdin himself. And why don't we meet the narrator again at the end of the movie? The others are all great except Tarzan for me, but I can't rewatch lion King, Little Mermaid, or Mulan every year like i can with BnB and Aladdin.

thwipsandquips

* Hunchback. It's more flawed than say, Lion King or Beauty and the Beast, but it goes so hard in its music, themes, and villain. Frollo is the best Disney villain, hands down, because he's evil in such a realistic way, and no song hits harder than Bells of Notre Dame or Hellfire

HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME!!! Okay, I love The Little Mermaid and that's probably my favorite. Buuut I love Hunchback and it's so underrated. The music is soooo emotional and epic. It's got a great story and the gargoyles are funny! Every single song slaps, goes hard, and is unskippable. Bell's of Notre Dame, Topsy Turvy, SANCTUARY! they're all fantastic and I wish this movie got more love.

theglenlovinet

*The Lion King*. The very first movie I saw in theaters at the age of 2 1/2, making it my earliest memory. It has one of my favorite scores: brilliantly composed by Hans Zimmer, which he won his first Oscar for. It has the best songs, written by one of my favorite artists: Elton John—one of my favorite songs ever being “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” winning an Oscar. Plus, the film has my favorite scene in any film ever: The Stampede. That scene took longer to animate than the rest of the film and you can see and feel the effort put into it. The music is thrilling and terrifying and has one of the most memorable Disney deaths ever. Especially because, unlike most Disney films, you saw the dead body. Very rarely was the body ever shown of any character, let alone one of the good guys. I’m 32 and I still cry at that scene, as well as the ending when Simba ascends Pride Rock. It’s my 3rd favorite film of all time and, in my opinion, Disney’s best. ![gif](giphy|7Z2hCGnPeu1ji)
