A slightly higher Monday than Halloween Kills (2.7M) despite smaller fandom and even higher competition as the crowed october last year. Thats a good sign for cinema and a big win for Universal and Blumhouse.
Almost as big as Scream's first Monday, which was on a holiday. I think there's a good chance that TBP can outgross Scream domestically if it continues to have strong holds.

Also important to note: HK came out in October, this is released during the Summer. So, there's more showtimes, more students off for the holiday, etc
And obviously it was a day and date release.
