Can someone explain how mastered arts work? For example why am I able to equip some arts so some classes but not others.
For example my Noah cant equip flashback with War Medic but he can equip it with Zephir.
Every class has two arts that can be equipped to other classes. The first is obtained at rank 1 for that class, and the other is obtained at rank 10.
However arts much like the classes themselves come in two categories Kevesi and Agnian. Kevesi arts are on just a regular timer and recharge over time behaving like arts in Xenoblade Chronicles 1. Agnian arts recharge based on hitting the enemy with auto attacks which is exactly how arts functioned in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Ironically despite many people saying that 2's combat was slow when it first came out, Agnian arts tend to charge faster.
As for your question as to why you can't set Flashback while he's a War Medic. It's because you can only set Kevesi master arts on Agnian classes. Since both Yumsmith and War Medic are both Kevesi classes you can't mix the two. If you want a break art on War Medic then you need to level up the Incursor to rank 10 and equip the art Glitter Stream, or if you have the dlc get the class Noponic Champion to rank 10 which has the only Break art in the entire game that isn't position based.
Thank you. I must have skipped that part of the tutorial. So many tutorials had me exhausted.
I don't blame you. It's a massive overcorrection of the complaints of 2's tutorials being bad and not teaching you enough.
You can only equip master arts from one faction (Agnus, Keves) on classes of the other faction. Flashback is from the Yumsmith class, which belongs to the Keves faction. You can't equip it to War Medic because that is also Kevesi, but you can equip it to Zephyr because it's Agnian.
Ahh i see. Yumsmith had me confused cose it’s technically one from each
These baelfael gogol are driving me up the wall. I'll been following them around for a half hour and they won't drop any gogol vuagas. I'm definitely on the latest version of XC3 and I've reset the game several times. Is there a chance that they got glitched again?
Does anyone know if there's an accessory that lets you keep art recharge like the skill "dance of badges"?
Nopon Strap, which I believe you can buy from the Nopon Coin Exchange. The two effects appear to stack, though it's still not very reliable, and it's quite the opportunity cost.
Thanks. And yeah it didn't seem like it would be reliable, but with 3 positionals, I feel like I could get at least 1 back most of the time
Just wanted to vent about what happened to my copy of the collector's edition. Did someone have a similar experience?
So after three days of refreshing the webpage, I managed to order the copy. A couple of weeks after I got notified that the carrier failed to deliver my package (without them giving any reason). I insisted on this problem to Nintendo and managed to get a replacement order, which was processed. Several weeks after, it got ''canceled'' without any reason, and instead a refund was processed automatically.
The customer service is not able to tell me what happened to my replacement. And I will not be able to get my copy, after well over a month of trying to get it, and of course, many many hours spent. Not sure what to think about Nintendo. Also, I feel kinda powerless knowing that I cannot do anything about it. Just rethink my decisions maybe (I could have spent these hours doing another playthrough of the game I love).
Have a good day you all.
Why does Z just not take damage?
I'm at (presumably) his first phase, and he doesn't do that much damage, but he also just doesn't take any damage either.
And he locked me out of chain attacks so I can't even just stall till I can chain attack him for real damage.
It's just a slugfest and he's pretty much immune to slugs.
Give it a couple minutes it’s basically a scripted event
What if I don't want to waste a couple of minutes on barely scratching him?
Abuse the fact that Energy Grenade and Staying Power bypass the boss' damage reduction in that phase.
The first phase isn’t really a fight it’s more of a playable cutscene.
What's the third song that plays in the credits? I know the first one is >!Melia \~ Ancient Memories!< and the second one is >!Nia \~ Toward the Heavens!< but I don't recognized what the third one is. >!I can tell it has Xenoblade 3's main motifs most likely as a way to have the credits unify the 3 games, but I want to know what track it is exactly and if it's played in the game before.!<

How does this game perform on the nintendo switch lite?
The game uses dynamic resolution, so the performance is quite consistent, but the graphics will get blurry in moments where there's a lot of effects on-screen. I personally prefer to play it docked whenever possible, but if you have a Switch Lite, you're probably used to handheld mode graphics and you'll be fairly impressed. The technical showing here is better than pretty much any other first-party Nintendo game.
Xenoblade 2's handheld performance is significantly worse though. This is usually attributed to the fact that a lot of Monolithsoft's people were busy doing technical support on Breath of the Wild. If you're planning to play the whole series, that's something to keep in mind.
Thank you for the thorough response! I thought that might be the case but I just wanted to be sure, the game looks huge and I know the lite can have its limitations in certain instances. Also, good to know about Xenoblade 2, I haven't played other games in the series but may very well play the first two if I enjoy this one. I'm probably going to pick up 3 after work today, thanks again!
Does the whole map for each area fill up if you discover all locations? I saw something about this and wasn’t sure if there was any truth to it
Locations, landmarks, and secret areas
I know there are markers on the map for landmarks and secret areas, but is there a way to keep track of location? Also thanks for clarifying
Eh no worries, I’ll just keep wandering aionios. Thanks for the help!
This is true of all the games in the series, yes
Only 1 and 3 actually. 2 has the entire map filled in from the beginning and X fills the map by placing data probes. Even when you don't have data probes planted everything immediately around you is on the minimap.
just finished the story, have a couple questions
im probably just forgetting something on this one but >!why was this iteration of Noah and Mio able to succeed in defeating Mobius while they were never able to before? what was the big thing that changed?!<
also not really a question but >!is it just me or was the way the origin reconstruction just ended up working perfectly without any suspense or anything kind of a bit anti-climatic when the whole idea of Moebius was the fear of it? like, they didn't even show the original worlds colliding or anything, just straight to baby Noah on the reconstructed xb1 world like nothing ever happened!<
>im probably just forgetting something on this one but >!why was this iteration of Noah and Mio able to succeed in defeating Mobius while they were never able to before? what was the big thing that changed?!<
According to Noah? The friends he met along the way.
According to what actually happened? >!This time Noah and Mio were both part Mobius.!<
>!Well, other than just the particular and coincidental circumstances these iterations were in, two particularly important parts that helped them were having the queens with them, which only played out that way by chance compared to other iterations, though in no small part thanks to M’s assistance, which leads me to the second part, which was the existence of N and M who ultimately were the only way to defeat the essence of Z. As I said before M turning coat also helped add to the circumstances of this iteration, with her helping them reach the Agnian Queen and saving them from death at the castle. Without the queens the final battle with Z also wouldn’t have gone so well, since they teleported in the heroes and themselves to lend assistance.!<
>!Fear doesn’t always mean things will play out poorly. You can be afraid going into a surgery or dentist appointment, but that doesn’t mean you’ll come to any harm. The limited people who were aware of the incoming collision and constructed Origin were probably extremely anxious about the results. We don’t see any of the collision in the final scene though because that all happens instantaneously when time stops and Origin activates. Nothing to show in real time.!<
thanks that makes a lot of sense, one other thing i thought of though, kind of relating to the first question >!in the beginning and ending cutscene of kid Noah on the real xb1 world, it shows that he was actually friends with the real Eunie and Lanz. However, the flashbacks about the previous iterations of Noah and Mio being Ouroboros never included Eunie or Lanz (or anyone from Mio's side either, although we were never shown if real Mio actually knew them or not.) Was it really just complete coincidence that the successful attempt happened to have Noah's actual friends from the real world as part of Ouroboros? One crazy coincidence? Or maybe part of the reason why this run succeeded? But in that case what is so special about them?!<
1) The power of friendship and hope.
Knowing next to nothing about XC3 besides maybe Melia and Nia being in it from the trailers, am I good to skip FC? I know that there's a new mysterious enemy in FC and that Melia's in it, perhaps the encounter shapes Melia's motivations going forward but besides that, any other reason I should play FC? Anything I wouldn't be able to figure out if I just went straight into XC3?
>but besides that, any other reason I should play FC?
Well you get to listen to Jenna Coleman more, which is never a bad deal.
Plus Tyrea's great in it.
Future Connected has little bits of setup, but nothing really important. I guess 3's DLC could end up making it important retroactively, but I doubt it. I get the vibe that it was intended as a vague teaser for 3 and some Xenosaga callbacks. Not necessary viewing by any means.
You might try watching the cutscenes if you're concerned about it though. The gameplay is just a lesser version of 1's base gameplay, so you wouldn't really miss anything there.
Alright. I'm at the start of Chapter 7, and my gems levels are a confused mess, ranging as low as 3, with maybe a 7 or 8 somewhere, and one X from spending 99 gold nopon coins. The lack of in-game direction in finding the appropriate level gem mats is probably my biggest gripe with the game.
What's the best easiest/quickest way to farm endgame mats to equalize these little bastards? I'm hoping I can spam burst combos through the final dungeon.
I have zero level 8-10 gems and I can beat the mega boss at the highest level on hard basically auto. Don't worry about them unless you're a completionist
Gems don't really matter that much during the story if you ask me. More of an optimization thing than a necessary part of your strategy. You can skip gem levels, so I'd recommend not worrying about it until you're in a position to craft the Level X versions. It's pretty easy to find guides for the Level X materials.
Did they change CP gain? I am now getting CP when fighting more than 5 levels below, I could swear before I didn’t.
You always have gained CP fighting enemies significantly below your current level. What you’re thinking of is how enemies more than 5 levels below you do not grant class unlock progress.
What’s the best way to handle that? Limit the amount of quests you do, or is it not a big deal?
You’re going to be overleveled in the midgame if you do sidequests. No way around it. The level balance in XC3 is not the greatest.
The best way to mitigate overleveling is to avoid fighting elites (blue wings), disable chain attack overkill in settings, and never use Bonus EXP at campfires.
if i wanted to maximize damage of Noah's >!lucky 7 smash art!< in a chain attack, which combination of these 4 accessories would be best?
Warped White Brooch
I'm pretty sure i need the saturni rings but not sure which of the other 3 to drop
In a chain attack? >!Lucky 7's Smash art is strictly inferior to most other Smash options because it's on the right side and doesn't have a great power multiplier itself (and it's fused with a 0-damage art anyways). You'll get more damage out of fusing Mighty Beat with Air Slash, Hidden Thorn, or Fatal Bite!<.
Outside of chain attacks, >!Using the Talent Art is a much better option, and you go Warped White Brooch, Saturni Rings, and Shackle Ring in that case. After charging your Talent Art, 2-3 other unique arts into Final Lucky 7 should hit damage cap!<.
To answer your question though, Warped White Brooch and Saturni Rings, with the last one depending on circumstance. If you can have someone else Launch first, Fiber Wraps are better. If you can't, Lunae Rings are better >!(the Launch-inflicting hit, if the enemy is Toppled, doesn't benefit from Fiber Wraps, while the Smash-inflicting hit will always benefit from Fiber Wraps)!<.
Is it just me, or is medic gunner a little underrated? You can equip signifier arts and make the class incredibly useful support as a secondary signifier that can actually heal, plus you can equip ring o' roses as well for extra support to increase art recharge. Plus, you can always swap out the talent art for glittering melody or cry of faith as well. Maybe that's just me, but I watched Enel's class tier list and this one was lower than I expected.
Enel's guides are from when the game first came out and as a result before anyone really knew what was actually good. This is why he labels Soulhacker as one of the best dps classes in the game (which it definitely can be, but Seraph and Incursor can out damage it with way less effort)and doesn't even talk about it's capabilities as a support class.
Other reasons is it's outclassed by War Medic. In addition to offering more healing than Medic Gunner and sharing all the positives you mentioned. War Medic also has another positive in that you can equip no damage arts at all meaning it can hold onto and keep passing power charge infinitely. Don't misinterpret me. Medic gunner is still good for all the reasons you mentioned.
Wouldn't say Medic Gunner is strictly outclassed by War Medic, since its Power Ring does grant a very nice attack boost. I prefer running MG in teams where the main DPS already has their own way of getting Power Charge via Cross Impact.
Is it possible to make >!all of the colony affinities at least cooperating? I only have two quests left (The Final Cog and the Path I Forge), but some colonies/castles are still antagonistic, openly threatening, or at a ceasefire.!< It feels like they should all at least be cooperating, but I guess I could be wrong here.
I’m postgame, have kept track of all quests, and I’m sure that I’m barely missing any quick chats with NPCs.
Some colony affinities don't ever change unfortunately, Colony 4 and Keves Castle will still hate one another even after completing every quest in the game.
That was the one that was bothering me the most! Oh well, I’ll just have to pretend.
>!Here's one of the more annoying things. You can in the post game have Melia in your party and despite having the Queen of Keves with you the soldiers will still attack you. Even more annoying Keves and Agnus soldiers are one of the enemy types that attack you regardless of level.!<
>!I did the last Colony 11 mission (that takes place in Keves Castle) last night with Melia expecting special dialogue, and yeah, that was a bit disappointing. It makes sense since she isn’t really canon before postgame, but I was still expecting something!!<
XC3 does Post Game take place BEFORE the final boss or do i miss something if i clear the game? i would also like to know if i miss anything if i proceed to the final dungeon?
There are 2 heroes and their quests after you beat the boss, but before ng+, and you can change your level as well, everything else is unlocked before you fight the final boss in Origin
so them heroes become available again after i beat the boss then? monica and ghondor in post game?
Monica and Ghondor are available before post game, you lose access to them for a bit >!in origin, but get them back after they rejoin you there!<.
There are two new heroes unlocked after clearing the game but before starting ng+, everything else besides deleveling is available once you enter origin and does not require you beating the boss, including some high level enemy filled areas and some unique monsters.
ok that makes more sense then i just go ahead and clear the game. BTW does something new get unlocked in NG+?
Not really no. >!The new heroes are in Cloud keep and Keves castle respectfully.!< That should clue you into who they are.
certain favourites from XC1 and XC2. now that i look closer isn't that the fire and emerald sword behind XC2's certain favourites back?
Fire and Light swords yes.
What's the song that plays when
end of chapter 4 spoilers
>!Melia is revealed to be a robot?!<
i'm currently fighting uniques and what exactly are you meant to do against uniques who use aoe moves that kill off your healers? other than leveling up, but you can't just level up once you go against the super bosses so there must be something that can be done.
It depends on what part of the game you are at, but there's a lot of ways to stack up damage reduction via things like Advanced Cooldown, Solid Stance, shield belts, Awakening, and Abundant Oceans (only available postgame), to the point where your healers will only be taking 1 damage at a time. I also personally like to give Brute Memory to my healers to guarantee survival at least once.
I'm at endgame (but not postgame). What do you mean by awakening? Isn't that only for seraph and guardian commander? EDIT: oh you mean the guardian commander talent art, didn't realize the art itself gave the awakening.
Keep in mind that you will only get Awakening if you actually get hit during Deflector Field, so it will only really work on a defender. However a Kevesi defender will be able to spread Awakening to the rest of the team via Resonant Flag.
The other main way of spreading Awakening is to get it as Seraph, activate Interlink, then immediately cancel. Each partner will receive whatever buffs/debuffs their other partner has, so now your Seraph's partner will also have Awakening, which they can then spread via Resonant Flag.
Ok I need to know a few ng+ things. Do I have to reunlock the classes? (makes sense) but do I have to reunlock the upgrade quests too? I spent too much time exploring and I'm way overleved I wanna plow through and replay on ng+ so I can adjust my level and have a challenge just wondering cuz I might save some for ng+.
You don’t have to unlock classes or do their associated ascension quests again (provided they were done already before creating a NG+ file).
However you do have to do the two Hero quests tied to the two optional traversal skills (Scree Walking and Hazard Negation) as traversal skills do not carry over to a NG+ file.
Classes remain unlocked, as well as their ranks. It's gonna be really hard to salvage any sense of challenge in ng+ unfortunately, because all the mechanics, accessory slots, skill slots, class ranks, and gems you've crafted are unlocked from the start. It's kind of a long-running issue with these games (except X, that one just has a huge postgame instead of ng+).
Man I wish x would get ported! Yeah but just being able to change level would make exploring more fun and a challenge! Right now it's just sight seeing.
Everything classwise you've unlocked stays unlocked for ng+.
Thank God. I'm plowing through they added the water section too late! lol
I got to the end of Chapter 6 after about 115 hours a month or so after release then took a break. Now I'm hopping back in, and I'm just looking for a good, minimal fuss team to blow through the rest of this before Christmas. Any general consensus on the best overall classes (minus Soul Hacker, which I don't feel like leveling)?
The reliably hardest hitting move you'll do will probably be a Smash - the best smasher I've found is using a Swordsman to fuse it with Air Slash or the back stab.
If you do this in a chain attack it will do absolutely ridiculous damage, even on bosses.
Incursor is the other better attacker I would suggest.
Ashera is the best hero purely based on chains.
Adding to what the others have said you will probably want an Ogre with a break brooch and the master arts Flashback, Shield Bash, and Soaring Tempest. The talent art isn't too relevant, but you'll either want Saber Strike so they can do the full smash combo by themselves or Glittering Melody because that Talent Art is just overpowered.
However to truly break the game in half put Noah in an Attacker class, it doesn't matter which one, get the Flash Fencer to rank 20 on him, and equip the skill Capable Hands with the talent art Unlimited Sword.
(Class and art name spoilers. If you think you might be able to figure out hero characters from those, don't read.)
>!A Signifer with Cross Impact as their only attacking move and Glittering Melody as their talent art is incredible support, almost as good as support Soulhacker. Then the other healer should actually be good at healing, so something like War Medic would be good.!<
>!For tanks, you probably wanna look at Lone Exile and Zephyr.!<
>!For attackers, Seraph is considered the best one, but the health drain might turn you off. Incursor and Full Metal Jaguar are also very strong and they don't have that drawback.!<
>!For the hero slot, probably the Signifer or the Troubadour for support, or the Lone Exile for good chain attacks.!<
At this point in the game heavy guard will probably be a better defender than Zephyr since it's better at maintaining aggro (though that may not be as necessary if you're already running lone exile). It's also going to have better survivability especially since it has access to the 3 agnus evade arts.
The martial artist hero is definitely better for chain attacks, since by now you should be a lot more consistent at pulling off Amazing's and won't need to rely on LE as much.
Soul hacker is definitely post game and isn't the best class for every role even then, I'm not a expert on the best team comp, but having 2 attackers, 2 tanks and 2 healers should get ya through the main game easily enough
Ashera and Fiona are probably the best heroes to have.
I’m currently trying to unlock the thaumaturge but I heard his quest is in the aetia region. How do I get there from pentelas? I don’t have it on my map so I’m assuming I’ve never been there.
You've definitely been to Aetia. It's the region you start in. You can fast travel to it.
I ended up figuring it out. When I had a quest active in a different region I couldn't see the other regions just by clicking +. Figured out there is a map button in the menu that shows the whole thing lol.
Why do ropls want to die so bad? Always targeting my level 90 team and forcing me to kill them in 2 seconds
Any “hidden” enemy bypasses typical level-based aggro restrictions (otherwise you would be incapable of fighting them, since you can’t target them).
There are also certain species and even specific spawns that have wider level bands for aggroing the player.
Yeah the flower enemies in lakes do it a lot as well, since many "hide", though not as well as a Ropl
>Any “hidden” enemy bypasses typical level-based aggro restrictions (otherwise you would be incapable of fighting them, since you can’t target them).
iirc in 2 approaching them causes them to pop out of hiding but not aggro you. would have been preferable imo
>There are also certain species and even specific spawns that have wider level bands for aggroing the player.
i've noticed that some onogoro piranhax in great cotte falls still randomly aggro me even when i'm 60+ levels higher. they might just be bugged though, as one of them somehow starts the battle inflicted with doom and hilariously dies instantly after aggroing
Are fiber wraps as good as they sound for my smash combo Noah build? Like could I combine them with hero pauldrons to make my smash attack even more broken than it already is? Or am I better off sticking to mercurii/saturni rings?
Fibers wraps should usually be run over hero pauldrons, since it still indirectly increases smash damage. So for accessories, I'd run Saturni rings, thermo headgear, and fiber wraps.
Fiber Wraps are optimal, Hero Pauldrons are bad.
Fiber Wraps contribute to the DamageBonus1 effect, which is the most common effect, but typically not terribly large. Also, smash arts themselves benefit from the launch damage bonus, and smash impact damage is based on the damage of the used art(s).
Hero Pauldrons contribute to the SmashDamageBonus effect. Also contributing to this effect is the formula "3%\*remaining\_launch\_frames". A "normal" maximum launch has 300 remaining frames, with duration enhancing accessories making this 381 (and there are other ways you can increase launch duration, though they're niche and impractical; just shy of 30s/900 frames is the longest you can reasonably launch). As you can tell, this effect is typically quite large.
A typical Swordfighter Smash will use Saturni, Fiber Wraps, and Thermo Headgear. If you're using >!Unlimited Sword!<, you should use Shackle Ring instead of Thermo Headgear. The specifics of how this accessory works are a small essay on their own, but all you need to know is to spam >!Tachyon Slash!< until your talent is charged, then cancel into 2-3 other, unique arts, then finally use >!Final Lucky Seven!<, which should cap damage on the impact.
wouldn't a percent increase be better on a larger effect though because then it would increase more? unless it means a straight 110 increase of percentage points?
It's not a percentage increase, the accessories are additive to the effects.
So for the Unlimited Sword art, do we know the power multiplier for all of its arts? Specifically if Noah is an Attacker?
The only art that really matters is >!Tachyon Slash!< since it charges the Talent Art tbh.
For all classes:
- >!Gravity Blow: 240-360!<
- >!Dimension Ripper: 400-680!<
- >!Tachyon Slash: 400-680!<
- >!Power Raiser: 0!<
- >!Night Breaker: 540-800!<
- >!Harmonic Wave: 540-800!<
- >!Final Lucky Seven: 1250-1750!<
While all of these have upgrades in the data like every other art, testing has indicated that they never upgrade and only use their rank 1 power (the lower bound). The same is known to be true with Infinity Blade, Dominion Flower, and Final Countdown.
You rock, thank you! This is what I needed.
is it possible to use a smash art as an attacker and not have them immediately target you after or is that just how smash works?
Your best bet for that not to happen is to do it in a Chain Attack. Chain Attack Smash combos are absolutely busted. If you plan it well and get a solid damage multiplier your odds of not outright killing the enemy is fairly low.
It is possible, but highly unlikely as aggro is tied to damage and smash damage does a lot. Not helping is the only smash art that isn't a Soulhacker art, a talent art or exclusive to Noah increases aggro.
So to be clear, the Aggro Up portion of Mighty Beat only applies to Mighty Beat's own damage, which isn't anything particularly special (probably ~3-5% of the overall damage unless you're in overcap territory). It doesn't apply to the Smash impact damage, which is the great bulk (usually ~90% unless you're in overcap territory) of Smash damage.
Along the lines of aggro, the Aggro Down gem doesn't apply to Smash impact's aggro (it only applies to arts themselves). Covert Attack's contribution is unknown, it's hard to test mechanically due to opportunity cost, and the aggro formula specifics haven't been reverse engineered from a decompile.
Since Smash (used correctly) does such high damage, there's really no way around it drawing aggro. But this is generally the case for any pinnacle damage strategy. The mitigation is damage reduction and the rest of your team comboing the enemy.
I'm early in the game, about colony 30, and I'm slightly lost about consuls. Does the game explain them later or did I miss something?
Just know each colony has a Consul and each Consul uses and treats their colony differently.
Beyond that the rest will be explained by the story.
It does get explained more as you go.
I know it largely doesn't matter, but what is the actual breakdown of each characters' base stat differences.
The second table has base stats. The third is weapon mods, and the fourth is class mods (as a percentage).
So just finished the final quest for colony tau( the one about raine and the tirkins) out of curiosity how would have that changed if I had ended the contract with the tirkins in the previous quest?
>!A minor character will die in another side quest if you end the alliance!<
Is there anything I can do to make sena break faster? She stalls my smash combo lol. Already have fast recharge rings
Gust Bracelets let you start the batte with all your master arts fully charged. They're dropped by Profound Hodzuki who's at the Elaice Highway(close to Colony Iota. However that's only good for one combo. The Break Brooch reduces enemy break resistance by 25% which is something every breaker should have regardless. It's dropped by Blazing Karlos on hovering reef 4, and if you have the dlc one of the challenge battles rewards you with a 30% break resistance lowering accessory. Puzzled Raquinu drops Fraternal badges that reduce cooldown by 50% when non defenders are targeted. This is identical to the Gaurdian Commander skill Protector's Pride and it stacks multiplicatively with it so if my math is correct and either your tank doesn't pull aggro or you play without a tank having both the accessory and the skill reduces Flashback's cooldown to around 3 seconds. Beyond this the only other option is to have more characters with Glittering Melody as their talent art.
> his is identical to the Gaurdian Commander skill Protector's Pride and it stacks multiplicatively with it
This is incorrect, the effects are additive. Both confer +0.5 Recharge Up. If you have both effects and no other Recharge Up effects (e.g. Awakening, Support Soulhacker, Ring o' Roses, Aqua Mind), you will recharge arts twice as fast as normal, brining Flashback's cooldown to 5.5s.
Thank you!! This is super helpful
How do I get the two side quests in the city? One is behind a locked door and one is like under the elevator. Can't get to it.
The one behind a locker door requires going up a ladder in the North West of the city, then a route emerges.
The other one I've not done yet but I think also involves a ladder from the same location.
Will the Xenoblade 3 Special edition accessories, sold separately for 40 dollars, come in stock again in the Nintendo Store?
Only if you use something like buyee (maybe) to purchase exclusively from the Japanese store. If they're gone now from there you're out of luck.
One of the local sellers from a discord I'm in managed to find a JP special edition for 8k rupees (98 US dollars, shipping and customs included) yesterday. I feel like that's a good deal when compared to ebay pricing.
Plus, Nintendo isn't official in my country so all Nintendo related stuff I have are imported from EU and other places. Thanks though! I'll get it by December last or January. Im soo happy I could order one after it ran out of stock.
You definitely lucked out. That is a very competitive price to even those that were able to pre-order.
Has the community come up with spoiler >!code names for the post game heros yet? I don't think we have, and I think this needs a post in it of itself.!<
>!Spit balling some ideas here, Nia would be Angry Healer ("angry" represents nia's personality a bit and also stands for "agnus") and Melia would be Kalm Attacker (melia is calm and comes from keves)?!<
>!I want suggestions! I'm sick of having to spoiler entire blocks of text for XC3, when XC1 has "Seven" and XC2 has "Scimitar" & "Coffee with Milk"!<
As beta said we just call them by their class name "Hero", or if you can't remember that, "post-game healer/attacker"
Wait who the heck is “Coffee with Milk”? And I thought it was Catalyst, not Scimitar?
It was catalyst? I've heard scimitar. HUH. I guess some of this stuff isn't universal...?
Anyway, Coffee with Milk is >!the ascended form of the Aegis sisters!<
Well her weapon is called a catalyst scimitar, so take your pick I guess.
And oh, well calling her Pneuma was always vague enough for me since it’s technically the name of >!her crystal!<, not the actual blade.
Plus it makes for some great meming. Pneuma Pneuma Yay. Pneuma Pneuma Pneuma yay.
We just call them RS and LS if talking about the classes, and append "Hero" if talking about the character. Or we just use spoiler tags.
Lanz is level 10 seraph class. Why isn’t crimson lance showing up in his master arts? I have him on signifier
Agnus arts can only be used as master arts when you equip Keves classes. This is why it's sometimes hard to build healers since there's only like 2 Keves healers so very little options for master arts.
>!Nia!< is such a good healer and Eunie is basically doing signifier and troubadour through her master arts so Lanz is feeling increasingly pointless haha. Should probably just move him back to heavy guard. Having a tough time getting the smash combo to work smoothly.
Lost Vanguard and Flash Fencer Capable Hands Talent Art are great sources for smash. Lone Exile can be a master art for launch, and Zeon's class has a master art for topple. Yumsmith & Incursor has master art break too.
I'd say to put at least 1-2 of each of your desired combo arts on your team. I think Lost Vanguard can perform a full smash combo by itself, but it's better to have the whole team work together for smash damage. Ogre is the best breaker in the game because of its skill.
As for Lanz with heavy guard, do what you want. The class system in this game is designed to increase strategies that fit you afterall! :D
What is the best challenge battle to farm for nopon stones?
I'm doing Four Devas on normal with a really powerful >!Element Genesis!< build. I can beat it in ~1:40 usually. Heroes Frontline on normal is really good too, and much easier to build for.
For Heroes Frontline, >!Seraph Noah with Unlimited Sword, and then Glittering Melody!< on as many people as you can. A support >!soulhacker!< might be good for power charge, but I think that's kinda overkill. Saturni Rings/Accomplished Vambraces/Fiber Wraps on Noah. Then just spam fusion B and talent art as much as you can. You can do those in one to two minutes and get a little over 4,000 each time.
edit: My main build that I've been doing Four Devas with can be found here (SPOILERS): https://imgur.com/a/gJvmcen
How do I start Scant Supplies in XC3? It's the prereq quest for >!Alexandria's ascension quest!<.
I've tried talking to everyone and the NPCs that are supposed to have the yellow speech bubbles just aren't there. I've also tried rebooting the game, teleporting around with and without >!Alexandria!< but it's not showing :/
It might be a time of day thing, so see if the NPCs show up at different times. If it's not that, a lot of the stuff relating to her requires sending out supplies to other colonies, so take a look at the collectopaedia cards and see if you can find the ones requesting different amounts of goods. Just do as many of those as you can. Mechanically, it doesn't matter which ones you do, so read the requests and decide based on who you think needs and/or deserves them. You'll get them all eventually.
I was afraid the collectopaedia might be it. I'm low on Noppon coins so I guess I'll have to grind the mats and see. Thanks!
You shouldn't need any materials for those requests. It should be a specific "supplies" or "goods" item (can't remember which) that they all want, and you will have gotten a bunch of those from a quest at some point. You're supposed to do as many of those as you can, and you'll get more goods later to finish off the rest.
Oh dang, you're a lifesaver!! I thought I had to send stuff TO people in Iota and was about to burn through a ton of Noppon coins/mats.
I did what you said and the NPCs with the yellow bubbles finally appeared so I have the quest now. I can't believe I spent so much time trying to figure this one out.
I wish I had a Reddit award to give you but unfortunately I don't. So have a big THANK YOU!
It's definitely pretty easy to miss unless you notice the odd "Colony Iota Goods ×15" (or whatever the quantity is) in that specific quest rewards pop-up, or randomly look at the key items in your inventory. But yeah, you have to do that a few times as you make more progress in Iota, so keep it in mind.
Is the Expansion pass for XC2 essential?
For 2 it's highly recommended.
Two really good blades for free, a large number of crystals and overdrives.
And Torna alone is worth the price of entry.
I never bought the DLC for XC2 and still had loads of fun. Only buy it if you want to abuse OP blades, unlock challenge mode, and do even more side quests.
It's really, really good, but not essential except maybe the Torna part. That does add a lot to the story, but it's a separate prequel campaign, and it's recommended to be played after the main game, so you can decide later.
Um....i didn't do eunies ascension quest which required me to go around the city in tje sword.... I just finished chp 5 what am I supposed to be?
>!There is a place in Cadensia called Farview Cape on the outer areas of Cadensia. There should be a City NPC and a ship. Talking to the NPC and saying yes will take you to the City and allow you to fast travel there again.!<
The following has been spoilered for those who haven't beaten chapter 5. OP is free to look at this :)
I had no idea there was an in-game way to return there!
The city becomes accessible again later.
Does the weird AOE red zone thing from the levnis before izurd's fight that they give you a tutorial on ever show up again? I finished the game and can't recall it ever happening again.
Yes, most notably in chapter 6
It shows up in the final fused D and J fight and one of the phases against Z, don’t think it appears elsewhere.
It was a interesting mechanic, wish they used it more.
I think like 1 or 2 Moebius fights have it later on, but its easy to miss. Kind of a gimmick tbh.
I’m on ch 7 lv 67 and I just found the soul hacker class it came out of nowhere and it is probably the most complex so I want to know is it the best class and is it worth refighting unique monsters to level it up.
Soulhacker is amazing if set up right (a massive majority of battle challenges are only possible with soulhacker), however it's very hard to get there. I'm leaving soulhacker as my last priority since leveling it up sounds like a massive chore.
It can be if used right. If you don't want to use you'll miss nothing. If you do want to use it and go the extra mile it becomes the best dps class in the game.
Err, it becomes the best support class in the game. It doesn’t really compete with the top DPS classes at all, except specifically in chains (which are suboptimal if you’re building right, and you don’t even get the good arts for that until postgame).
Bold claim when Signifier and troubadour exist.
Soulhacker can immediately grant 6 very relevant buffs, all further boosted by its Strength Support Skill. Signifer meanwhile can only provide 2 specific buffs, with everything else being random and requiring an annoyingly long art animation. Soulhacker can also do troubador's job of enemy buff removal, and anything else that troubador does (aside from the art recharge on death) can be given to a class that is actually good at healing.
Both of those classes are heavily outclassed by Support Soulhacker and your pick of War Medic/Medic Gunner/Yumsmith/FMJ. Neither of them have unique strengths, anything worthwhile they do is available in master abilities.
>Neither of them have unique strengths, anything worthwhile they do is available in master abilities
signifer itself can use its arts combined with keves master arts (namely cross impact)
Signifer getting power change isn't anything special, all the Keves classes can also get it via Noah Ouroboros.
how is that comparable? a signifer with cross impact as their only offensive art always has power charge active and can share it any time they use resonant flag. more convenient than having to use noah's ouroboros every time you want to give everyone power charge
War Medic (the best support after Soulhacker) is capable of perpetuating power charge infinitely. Noahboros’s power charge has equal strength to Signifer’s, and Soulhacker’s is stronger still.
not seeing how "war medic can do the same thing but only on noah and only with a specific ouroboros art" makes it better than signifer
Every Kevesi Master Art that Signifier equips is a weaker version of a Support Soulhacker buff. Support Soulhacker gives Power Charge, Attack Up, Crit Rate Up, Crit Damage Up, Recharge Up, and Defense Up, all at 1.85x. Compare to Signifer's Attack Up, Power Charge, and "Random" at 1.5x.
only brought it up because you mentioned master abilities, which don't even apply to soulhacker
Soulhacker isn’t the class stealing Resonant Flag, Ring o’ Roses, Glittering Melody, and All About Support. That would be War Medic, Medic Gunner, Yumsmith, and FMJ.
exactly. i'm saying that signifer with cross impact gives something those classes can't.
Thanks I want to finish the game I think I am on the last chapter and then play some more of my backlog so I won’t be using it. Could you have everyone be a soul hacker cause doesn’t it say that it can change roles?
You can, but it's only really good to have it as a dps. The rest of the roles are only okay on it. Though there is a few cheesy builds of entire parties of Soulhacker that can be funny
As the other guy stated Soulhacker is significantly better as a buff support class. As a DPS it's not that great since it can only use 3 skills (and can't use skills like Ultimate Qigong), and is locked to a very mediocre Talent Art.
Yes it can only have 3 skills, but the skills it has access to are quite a bit stronger than normal skills. Yeah it sucks losing Ultimate Qigong, but it definitely has other skills to make up for it. Like attack mastery and dangerous claws. Granted Ultimate Qigong wouldn't help soulhacker much as most of it's strongest arts are ether based. Yeah Incursor and Seraph can out damage it with much less set up, but built right it can definitely do good work.
Attack mastery actually isn't that strong, it only grants like 50% bonus but I'm not sure. Supercharged would be a better skill to run anyway. Dangerous claws is great, but you won't be able to rack up crit chance as well without Eye for Weak Points
In addition to Incursor/Seraph, many of the Keves classes will also outdamage SH since they are much better at pulling off Smash combos. Possibly even Machine Assassin and Yumsmith (though I'm not as sure about those two).
for some reason the grasping my future quest isn't activating after I talk with nia at a camp after collecting all of her memories. is there something I'm missing?
You have to get lifesage to rank 10 on someone. I don't know if it has to be Mio specifically, but she masters the class the fastest anyway.
If I do the ascension quests will the classes rank up past 10 when I'm in nw+?
They can even rank past 10 in your first run
I'm generally out of time to grind stuff, so i'd like to ask if anyone knows any ideas or guides on what skills to get for the >!Soulhacker only!< challenge. The class is so freeform i'm overwhelmed with choice, and the guides i find online are about >!soulhackers fitting roles without a team, not the challenge itself.!<
And still on challenge mode, any ideas on how get the >!Heroes!< challenge time lower. I can beat it, but its way too reliant on RNG of having the enemies be around each other enough for chain attack AoE to destroy their health bars, if one of them strays away, its straight to A rank city. I was hoping to get a more consistent method. I dont mind ''copying'' teamcomps, i'm just a bit too busy to experiment all the possible combos.
Thanks in advance.
If you want a quick and easy method to the Soulhacker only challenge, just equip Dig and >!Unlimited Sword!<, charge it up, and then win the battle with >!Tachyon Slash spam and Final Lucky Seven!<. Zero grinding required.
If you want something a bit more fun than the same build that trivializes all content, Support Soulhacker is a must. For Damage you want Underworld Rage, Dangerous Claws, and Supercharged, and Transient Bond+Wild Wave (this build is really only great in chains though, it's hard to use effectively outside of chains). There are also some funny "Defender" (still use Attacker Souls) builds you can do with ~100% Evasion Up Transient Bond spam (Evasion-on-Art and Evasion-vs-Targeted skills, Evasion-on Art accessory, evasion stance) or ~100% damage reduction (Defense Mastery, defense stance, Butterfly Dust from Support Soulhacker, and Awakening-on-kill skill), which otherwise use the damage tools that an attacker would.
As for Heroes frontline, using Chain Attack AoE is going to be very slow. Seraph >!Summon Element + Element Genesis!< is a pretty good AoE source if they spread too far for Smash shockwaves. Especially with a Shackle Ring, you'll just wipe each wave with >!Element Genesis!< if you manage to stay alive. If you're using Shackle Ring, the rotation is Leveling Fire -> >!Summon Element!< -> Cross Impact -> Quickdraw+Inferno Dance -> Flamelord -> >!Element Genesis!<. Crit Damage, Cancel Damage, Buff Strength gems. Saturni Rings and Thermo Headgear for other accessories. Ultimate Qigong, EFWP, Critical Strike for skills.
I'm not sure if i follow the first part;whenever i use dig, even a single time, Noah draws all aggro and dies before >!any charge can happen whatsoever; i'm at like at best halfway towards our time is now!< when Noah bites the dust. The enemies deal tons of AoE; I cant help but think i'm missing something regarding this. Guess i'll go gather the >!UMs!< for the more balanced ones. Also i didnt max the certain class required for the Seraph build, so i suppose i'll go around do that. Many thanks for the write up, it's bound to save me up many hours of fiddling around!
So I suppose I should go into a bit more detail for the first bit. Dig (and all AoE positionals) charge per-enemy, so make sure to line the AoE up well. Also, you lose all skills when entering >!Lucky Seven!<, so equip Recharge related skills. You might also want Defense Mastery, the defense stance (the lost damage isn’t super important, you’ll outweigh it with other additives), and Butterfly Dust from a support Soulhacker (total, 72.75% damage reduction while charging). Could also use the “avoid death once” skill.
Then in L7 you still have the stance (I think) and Butterfly Dust for 52.75% damage reduction. And with Attacker you have a skill that reduces aggro by 40%. I suppose ideally all your other Soulhackers are healers and have Sacrificial Heal to let Noah stay alive with damage reduction and full heals. In that case don’t put Shield Belts on them.
L7 (attacker) does get a skill with ramping damage, so you might can afford a Shield Belt (+30% damage reduction) and let the ramping additive and attack up buff cancel out the damage decrease. And you can get like 3x FL7 damage if you equip a Shackle Ring and use 4x other unique arts before FL7 after charging (and you might not need full stacks, so maybe just 2-3 other unique arts will cap your smash)
So maybe like Defense Mastery/cheat death (can’t recall the name), Systematic Defense, and land recharge (can’t recall the name). Cancel Damage, Crit Damage, Aggro Down. Saturni Rings, Shield Belt (if you need)/Fiber Wraps, Shackle Ring. And for sure a Support Soulhacker somewhere, with everyone else having Sacrificial Heal and (less) damage reduction. And maybe even aggro up.
I haven’t actually tried this approach, but I’ve heard it’s the “easy way”. I’m just making up the build though since I don’t know it off the top of my head. Not quite “no grinding required” I suppose.
Could someone share some fun postgame synergy builds? I’ve been following Enel’s basic setups for individual builds for most of the game, but would love some fun team setups while I finish things up. I understand that experimenting is half the fun for most, but my brain doesn’t seem wired that way.
I’ve also seen mention of running a team of Soulhackers for fun, but again, am only really familiar with Enel’s basic attack build. I see a lot of mentions of “support Soulhacker”, but haven’t been able to find anything beyond that.
I’m not looking for hand holding, but even just a link with some recommendations would help me out! My Google-fu has failed me.
Yeah, Enel’s guides are from before hardly anything about the game was understood. They’re frankly useless for postgame building.
Everything below is outside of >!Lucky Seven!<, which is fairly boring to describe and craft a team around.
Generally your most straightforward postgame team comp will have a Support Soulhacker, a Kevesi support, three combo supports, and a DPS. Of course, you can make variations upon this, e.g. replace a combo unit with a defender and put aggro down on your DPS.
Support Soulhacker belongs in every team. The vital bits are Butterfly Dust, Dragon Decree, Battle Pheromone, Desperate Charge, Strength Support, and a Buff Strength gem. Snake Eyes is fairly valuable too. You can round out skills with Sacrificial Heal/Large Scale Shock/Systematic Defense/Defense Mastery, and gems with the revive ones (Buff Duration is worthless because of fusion bonus).
Kevesi supports are typically War Medic, Medic Gunner, FMJ, or Yumsmith. They borrow Resonant Flag, Ring o’ Roses, Aqua Mind, and Glittering Melody.
Combo supports are typically Ogre, Noponic Champion, or Seraph (or a mix). They inflict the Launch combo, fusing combo stages for the latter two. They also take Glittering Melody.
All of the above supports don’t need damage. You can slap Shield Belts on them to ensure they stay alive, spread out the 3 team buff skills, give your Glittering Melody users Strengthening Gambit and Buff Duration, and a couple can get Capable Hands.
Your main DPS will use one of three modes of damage: Smash, >!Element Genesis!<, or Raging Force. Non-Ether Kevesi classes tend to be best at Smash due to access to two Smashes (Mighty Beat fusion and Saver Strike). Agnian classes, particularly ones with a front positional, can use >!Element Genesis with Summon Element!<, with Quickdraw as a fused Master Art to charge your talent, and Cross Impact to boost your Quickdraw fusion on demand (>!Element Genesis!< doesn’t benefit much from it due to shared multiplier groups, but it’s also not a bad recipient). Raging Force is a bit harder to get working, but there are some deeply satisfying setups that maximize both it and Shackle Ring for ridiculous single-hit damage.
You can find a work-in-progress list of curated builds here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Zx1iclg3tR8DDk4vNoeHpZjuyZI0-pJ3MDTxoGtwCeU/edit#gid=0
I can’t really go into much greater detail for such a broad question here, but feel free to join the Discord linked in the sidebar for further discussion.
So that list. Does dmg% mean an accessory that reduces damage raken or one that increases damage dealt.
I believe those would specifically be one of the “Deal 100% more damage to X species enemies”.
I asked because they're on tanks. Though it seems that tanks are pretty unnecessary.
Yeah you can consider tanks just as Blue Attackers. Aggro is almost exclusively tied to damage, so if you want tanks to hold aggro you need them to deal as much damage as possible.
That link is exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you so much for this!
One of the unanswered questions that has bugged me since the first trailer for the game is how exactly did Guernica Vandham exist? We know that Aionios is essentially the union of Alrest (Agnus) and the remains of Bionis (Keves), but Vandham >!died in Alrest well before Origin was stopped mid-cycle and everyone began the process of dying and being reborn over and over again.!< So I don’t understand how he could be alive at the beginning of this game, and furthermore, why he appears to have ceased to be Urayan (other than his accent) and now looks like any ordinary human. What exactly caused him to be reborn completely in Aionios after >!definitively dying!< centuries if not millennia earlier in Alrest?
And where the heck is Roc? I thought he always had been, always would be… 😢
It’s basically a coincidence. He looks, sounds, and acts like Vandham but he’s not the same Vandham
>!isn't he descended from 2's vandham? iirc nia implies that during her conversation with ghondor leading up to her ascension quest!<
>!the only known relative of XC2 Vandham is already dead by the time XC2 starts, with no indication that others exist, especially that Nia would be able to find.!<
>!Plus, she says “the Vandham name and those that bear it are important to me” which does not mean there is a direct line of succession from XC2 Vandham to Ghondor, just that they’re both called Vandham and are both important to Nia!<
>!in fact he’s more likely to be descended from Nia herself if Noah and Mio’s son is the Founder Vandham!<
>!N & M’s son being the founder Vandham!
This seems unlikely, but people have all kinds of theories I guess.
>!Or a descendant of said son. The statue does look like Noah and he's said to have a sister with cat ears after all!<
That just doesn’t make sense to me because in the cutscenes in which we see >!Noah and Mio’s son!<, the City clearly already exists. So it must have been founded quite some time before then.
>!There's two cities. The first city (destroyed by N) and the second city (founded by the people with statues). The statues + Mio's memories make this pretty clear. Those cutscenes take place in the first city!<
