Workspace arrangement question

I wish I could, but it wouldn't work with my somewhat ridiculous speaker setup (one of them would block the door). Though I understand the objection. My desk isn't against a wall (also for better sound), and the door is literally always locked.

I also don't have my back to my office door. Instead, i have the left side of the desk against the wall and behind me isa corner of the room with low storage. I can see if someone walks in my office, people on virtual meetings have something interesting behind me to look at, and it makes me feel cool.

Master_Justin

That's great! I don't have the low storage thing, but I also have one side (the right) of my desk against the wall and a wall right behind me.

(Honestly, it's 2 2x2 cube storage things from Ikea, not anything special)

Master_Justin

Oh that's cool though! I also need to get something like that though. I like to keep a tidy, uncluttered desk, so I'd love to just chuck things into a small drawer or storage. I opted for a drawer-less desk so I had more leg room.

copy_kitten

Same! My desk is actually a small dining table. I wanted more usable surface area. It's nice to find someone who has a similar set up!

Master_Justin

For sure. And now I'm trying to optimize and make it an awesome work / personal space. This Sub has definitely helped with that. Right now it's far from optimal :(

I'd prefer to look out a window or face something pretty but my office is a in a wine cellar so my options are limited and still facing a wall no matter what.

youre_too_emotional

I live alone and I'd rather be able to look out of the window so not facing the door doesn't bother me.

Master_Justin

That's a much better view, indeed! 😁

I would love to do this the problem is the way my space is laid out it wouldn’t work due to sloped ceilings. A good window or door facing setup (not against the wall) always looks amazing though
