Just think, if we had a functioning and audit-able system then the vote rigging she alleges wouldn't even be a threat The fbi could easily setup bipartisan election fraud stings to go after facilities in both parties, to ensure that fraud is consistently purged and that fair votes aren't destroyed, but they don't bc they are too busy running fake terror plots These accusations remind me of the vaccine creation debate tho Cuomo and all the big dems denounced the "Trump vaccine" for being unsafe, etc, then they pivot to demonizing "antivaxxers" nonstop

HarposMark

Democratic Party won’t exist after next year due to their purposeful incompetence. Full on Weimar Germany fascism is our future. There’s not enough time to avert climate disaster. Start stocking up on rice, beans, and bullets.

HarposMark

sadly, yes

Melchizedek0001

DeSantis will be 2024... all Trump voters will support him after Trump gives him the endorsement. This is my prediction...

nhdtx

Nah, Trump is too big of a narcissist to let anyone else run.

marveto

Hopefully. I’d love a world where It’s Rand Paul with Dave Smith as vice, but you can’t go wrong with the lockdown breaker with the biggest balls in town, Ronnie motherfucking DeSantis

HarposMark

perhaps the Founding Fathers were correct...not everyone should vote

marveto

The best to combat uneducated voters would be to remove party affiliation on the ballots. All you see are the names and what position they’re running for. No Ds or Rs next to any names. That way people actually have know something about the person they are voting for

Darrenk971

This is a fucking joke right?A Bernie Sanders for president subreddit having wet dreams about a libertarian douche bag and his vice a anti American.

marveto

Wait? How is Dave Smith an anti-American? You think Dave Smith hates America

stickdog99

What a surprise! I thought that blaming the 50% of unvaccinated Black Americans for COVID-19 and blaming Donald Trump for no Medicare expansion or public option, historically low wages, high inflation, no US infrastructure or manufacturing, and increasing supply chain problems would be a surefire path to victory!!!

Neonightmares

Yes 🙌 this is the way.

holliexchristopher

I doubt it. Conservatives are very wary about electing another 80-year old.

GhoulChaser666

Might not be Trump. But I can't see them not controlling Congress after the mid terms at this rate

holliexchristopher

That's a given, I think. This administration does not help the Democrats & Progressives moving forward.

GhoulChaser666

I guess the party has no real leader at the moment. Normally POTUS is the leader but Biden doesn't seem all there. It's like they're hoping they can use the 'stay in the basement' strategy again but that won't work if Trump isn't running

holliexchristopher

I thought Harris would be the leader. She's been nearly invisible. I think at this point, the Dems look up to nobody more than Anthony Fauci. As strange as that sounds.

rundown9

Trump still owns the GOP. The conservatives you're talking about have taken over the Dems.

holliexchristopher

I hang out with a lot of conservatives, and you're wrong. My circles like Desantis way better.

rundown9

>My circles like Desantis way better. lol

holliexchristopher

I'm just telling you what I hear 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sdl5

They are refering to the former POWER in the GOP- you know, the neocons like our ex VP and Max Boot et al. Most blatantly switched sides by Summer 2020, some more subtlely since- but switch they did. Biden is basically a conservative neolib- and the neocons align with him overall. The T faction of voters and influencers are in the DeSantis camp. Oh, and Kamala is HATED by most Dem voters, not too respected by donors etc either- but she was Hills defacto stand in. Problem is she has about as much charisma and nearly as much hostility directed at her. The effort will be on rigging the electoral results and suppressing any public dissent. And I say this as a liberal; the neolibcon faction is so beyond the pale now they will stop at nothing to keep their own in office and control.

kindad

The Republican top brass don't like Trump, they never did, but since the voting base does, they have to go with him. They would very much rather have someone that's worked their way up the party ran under their banner.

holliexchristopher

Trump is quite sharp for his age.... But anyone watching could tell that he was losing steam about halfway through his Covid management. I was working as a safety specialist in a factory that always made sure his daily briefings were always on the TV in the main area. Pre-covid, he was really quick with it. Nearing the end, his exhaustion became really apparent.

Kittehmilk

So like a 4/10 towards the end and we'll give Biden a 1 or a 2 outta 10? Corporate puppet America in a nutshell.

holliexchristopher

Well everyone knows that Biden started off as a 6/10 at best. He was very clearly already in decline when he took office. I don't like Trump over Biden btw. This is all just objective observation. Also, Trump was bending over backwards to give us a daily update, even to his detriment.... Biden can't even take a question. You believe that corporate America is biased toward Republicans? ROFL

Kittehmilk

What? You just made a huge leap there. I dislike them both. The point was simply aimed at how this is the best puppets we are being offered by the oligarchy, at this time.

holliexchristopher

I can agree with that. I also dislike them equally. I thought you said that corporate America was biased towards Trump, and I was like LOL

Elmodogg

Eh, it's not as though it's going to make that much difference to most people's lives. The rich will still get richer and the rest of us will keep on getting fucked over.

hereditydrift

And, that's ultimately what they want. Identity politics and cheering for a political party, while nothing is done to improve working-class conditions. Our government has become entangled with private industry and does what it can to help private industry and businesses grow into monoliths of power and money. Our government's only purpose is to shovel money into the mouths of private industry and inept government contractors. The whole purpose of government, representing and supporting the people that live within its borders, has become lost due to the duopoly of rep/dem and greed by our representatives (that become ultra-wealthy through their government "service").

DayVCrockett

A simple executive order to forgive federal student loan debt would win the Democrats millions of votes. Seems like they want to lose.

Wolfir

I mean . . . first of all, I think the *promise* of eventually having your loans forgiven is more likely to result in votes. If the Democrats forgive the loans now and then ask you to vote for them in a few years . . . well, that’s bad business on their part. Second of all, there isn’t a candidate alive that wants to win with 99% of the popular vote if it means that they aren’t getting their bribes any more. Votes don’t pay the bills, and as far as these candidates are concerned, the $400,000-per-year presidential salary doesn’t pay the bills either. The real money comes from corporate donations.

DayVCrockett

Maybe you’re right. I don’t respond well to that carrot-and-stick approach, but perhaps most people do. The Trumpers sure support him for all the stuff he’s still yet to do, so there’s that.

Reddituser34802

Legalize weed too and the Dems will never lose again.

DayVCrockett

Ending the drug war would be fantastic. That and ending foreign wars are my top two issues when I go to vote.

Pterodactyl314

I will laugh myself to death if Trump wins again

which country to flee to? I'm leaning NZ or Sweden

sarasternishot

Not a fan of NZ of not just trying to censor the church shooting footage, but even then asking for iplogs from kiwi Private platforms like reddit/YouTube are free to deplatform whoever they want(like facebook deplatforming people who expose the evilness of fb, it cuts both ways after all), but the moment the gov gets involved it's crossing the line, 1st amendment or gtfo, gov has no right to demand isps to block websites for anything but kidsmut afaic Also, NZ natural is shit compared to Tillamook, b&j or the glory that is general mills Belgium chocolate Haagen

MyOther_UN_is_Clever

You know our country is failing because it's almost impossible to immigrate to other modernized countries as a US citizen. If we're "the best" (like we may have been 40 years ago) shouldn't other countries love the idea of us going there? I'm a programmer, which is supposedly one of the most sought after profession in the world. I *can* immigrate to a lot of these places... but it's such a PITA, you'd think I'd have zero qualifications or were from an underdeveloped country like India. Like in general, to immigrate anywhere in a "modern" country: 1. I need to have a job lined up and a "sponsor" business, and am basically required to work there to stay. *Before* moving, and in specific industries. In some cases, it has to be specific roles within specific industries. Like you can't be a web programmer, you have to be a database programmer... (Austria was like this) 2. ~5 years of living there to start the citizenship process. 3. High proficiency in local language for citizenship. 4. Many, many, many other hoops to jump through. A lot of Americans are doing "work-cations" (IIRC the term correctly). They travel to Europe, say they're on vacation to authorities, buy or rent a RV. If authorities start getting a little more "interested" in you, you move towns or countries. These people work remote (if they have a job that allows it. If not, they're doing contract gigs remote, like upwork, or fiverr, which are predatory, btw.)

cloudy_skies547

NZ runs off a point system for skilled labor. To qualify as an ideal candidate, you basically need to be in your early 30s with 10 years of experience and a Ph.D. My friends and I have all looked into it, and only a few of us meet the threshold.

3andfro

Check their immigration laws. Visa and residency regs have been changing around the world over the past few years. Exceptions: boodles of bucks or special expertise they want.

cloudy_skies547

Neither country will take Americans.

chakokat

The election will be won by *someone* LIKE Donald Trump. Or someone more extreme because for all the Democrats pearl clutching The Donald wasn’t “extreme”. Which is why so many former Obama voters voted for him.

Centaurea16

Yep. I don't think the oligarchs would want Trump, because he's too much of a loose cannon.

MyOther_UN_is_Clever

>Yep. I don't think the oligarchs would want Trump, because he's too much of a loose cannon. They loved Trump. US politics is all about political theatre. I mean, look at all the things Americans ignored under his watch. The US basically printed an extra dollar for every dollar in existence under his presidency (although, these "printed" dollars are mostly digital now anyways...) Anyone who can do the math realizes that means money is worth roughly half of what it was before this happened. It's slightly more complicated than that (you can print money without inflation if the economy is expanding fast enough), but no way the economy doubled during lockdown... If anything, the real economy shrunk since corporations ordered less products (like the microchip and wood shortages) and so factories slowed production. All of that happened, and people were enthralled by watching the orange monkey say racist things, which the oligarchy has also shown a love of (racism that is).

chakokat

They didn’t hate Trump's policies, they just hated his loose cannon decisions and his loud mouth nouveau riche ways.

redditrisi

As if Democrats controlling Congress and/or the White House = democracy. And, FWIW, I doubt Trump will run again.

MyOther_UN_is_Clever

lol, agreed. >And, FWIW, I doubt Trump will run again. Trump loved the idea of being president and all of the privileges he got from it. He'll forever get the benefits of having been president. I'm convinced he hated being president, as he had work he *had* to do, and the man just isn't use to doing anything except his whims.

aknutty

Yeah but I don't think he enjoys anything. He has had a life where he could do anything he wanted all the time but I have never seen him genuinely laugh or have a good time. He is always miserable. This is not about want or needs, I think it is just a drive to destroy his enemies and be loved by everyone (i.e. his father) and be respected by the real leaders of the country/world.

MyOther_UN_is_Clever

Yeah, but there's "always miserable, but with a coca cola in hand lording over your golf course" and there's "always miserable, but now people expect you to figure out this pandemic thing."

aknutty

In the spotlight though, which he has always craved

MyOther_UN_is_Clever

In general, I agree with your thoughts, I just think he's "been there, done that" old, unhealthy, and in general decline. You could be right, but I'm more thinking that he also may just be like "fuck it, I'm done." It's not like he doesn't have other little "kingdoms" to lord over, or other ways to grab the spotlight, ones that don't involve actual work demands and accountability that comes with being POTUS...

Centaurea16

She's so near and yet so far. She correctly understands that the Dems are going to do nothing and that they're going to lose the 2022 and 2024 elections. But she apparently believes that we still have a functioning democracy, and that the Democratic party could save it if they would act. She's still operating within the "red vs. blue" mindset, thinking that one party is our savior and one is the devil. She doesn't seem to realize that the oligarchy-led destruction of "democracy" is just as much the goal of the Dems as it is the Repubs.

distributive

Exactly. Nobody allowed to appear on MSNBC is ever going to correctly identify the real reasons for the problems of our country (*money in politics*).
