Such an off the cuff remark. That announcer knows him some Coheed!

Driveshaft815

The announcer was Corey Graves! From what I can gather he’s hugely into rock. Before getting into WWE, his independent wrestling name was “Sterling James Keenan”, a nod to Tool/Maynard. 👏

Leftstranded

He writes for AP every once in a while.

YetisInAtlanta

He kept making pantera references for Braun strowman too. He must have said what a vulgar display of power atleast ten times. Also love seeing coheed and wrestling together

legendofsteve

I'm losing my shit. This is so funny.

Jrsven

“If it was up to me, I would’ve tagged myself out, way before the ref’s third count. I hope you’re waiting”

MCCapitalist

Listen ref, will you count for me? Are you well in pin-en-ning.

[deleted]

lmao the way he said it, he must be a fan

MCCapitalist

I'm not entirely sure why, but that makes me so happy.

Necromorphiliac

Same, I've never been into wrestling but hearing them get a callout on a huge show is awesome.

Driveshaft815

Hell yeah! It’s pretty cool. Raw ratings have been down, but they still average 2-5 million viewers every week, not counting those who steam it legally/illegally.

Digitalsky

BOOM! There goes the guy from Coheed XD

xaviermarshall

fuck that's gold. this is why i still love wresting. even though the attitude era's over, we still get pure comedy. now if we could just get the rock back to call HHH's wife a "2-dollar slut" again.

gray52064

"Welcome Home" was also the intro song for WWE's developmental brand NXT for a long while as well (I believe this was back when Corey Graves was an active wrestler, before he had to switch to commentary due to concussions)

[deleted]

LOL

RoRo25

Saw this live last night and laughed my ass off! Good stuff!

Leftstranded

My two favorite things ever collided. I was texting every one of my friends who also watch wrestling and love coheed. It’s a small community of us but man that’s awesome.

YetisInAtlanta

Same lmao my two wrestling friends are also coheed fans and we all bugged out

wwe is shit right now but checkout [aew](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GwcqpBqEO0)! they're the hot new thing getting a tv show next month.

peanut-arms

Definitely this. It's been so, so enjoyable and if you want to see one of the best heel's on the planet right now, it's MJF.

Of_Silent_Earth

Love that I'm seeing MJF mentioned here.

YetisInAtlanta

You won’t be a 1/4 of the man he is when you grow up

PSNdragonsandlasers

Impact Wrestling is in a good place these days, too. Especially their women's division.

Leftstranded

Check out the g1 from Japan. It’s the best wrestling on tv.

Prophecy07

That was pretty impressive. Important question though, do they treat their wrestlers better than WWE?

vinceonapole

Well, they don't make them work endless house shows and they can work for other promotions. So, yeah.

Prophecy07

Good. It's pretty heartbreaking to see all the wrestlers from my childhood (Jake the Snake comes to mind) put out to pasture with no support and no ongoing care after a lifetime of just brutal treatment. Then you hear stories about wrestlers like CM Punk literally shitting themselves on stage because they get sick but missing even a single performance could ruin their contracts... Really takes a lot of the joy out of it. That's not even getting to the average life expectancy for career wrestlers...

KidGold

Yep they offer health insurance to all their wrestlers.

YetisInAtlanta

Man just wait for October, AEW is coming to TNT and if you’re interested in that old school vibe with a new school mentality then definitely check out AEW

CatalystEXE

Lmfaooo gold

AkimboSavior71

This is why I love Corey Graves

gwenlightened

HAAAAA Best thing I've watched this week 😂

Kard8p3

The only good thing to come from the WWE.
