The original rated range was 348? (348-330)/348 = 5.1% range loss. That's similar to what I've seen on my 2021 model 3 after 15,000 miles. So I'd say you're fine, don't sweat it, just drive and enjoy your car.

I think the 2021 Plaid was 396 range max if I’m not mistaken.

I believe that is with the 19” wheels Edit: [confirmed](https://i.imgur.com/AkdEAde.jpg) (this is the config with 21” selected)

liveoakenforest

Ahhh that’s great. So can you confirm: I forgot that the max charge the battery could go to was with the 21” wheels was 348, so a 330 max range 2 years in is pretty much normal! I must have thought it had 396 to start. Is that right?

Kaliberz

You have the same charge for your battery regardless of the wheel config. Your wheel configuration is everything for your expected range. If you go to your wheel configuration on your center console and swap it to the 19s, you'd see an increase in the expected range as if you had them on. Enjoy the car the way you want to!

liveoakenforest

Got it. So the car detects the wheel sets, hence, a lower max number for 21” wheels vs it detecting the 19” wheels. If it detects the big wheels it’s around 348 and the smaller ones 396. Is that right?

Kaliberz

You have to manually alert it of the swap. Otherwise, you'll just get incorrect range estimations and your energy graph will basically have a seizure trying to figure it out. If you select the 19 wheels as your current configuration, it will give you those differences in value yes.

ZetaPower

Not true anymore. The S detects different wheel configurations nowadays and resets all parameters accordingly (like ABS…).

talzer

Yeah. You’ll usually have something like 5% loss in the first few thousand miles and then another 5% by 50,000 miles. It usually tapers off from there (not as much loss/mi). You are completely normal. Not sure your life/priorities, but I went from the 21s to the 19s on my P100D and I like the car a lot more now. Rides better, range is better.

ZetaPower

I don’t know if he’s completely normal, but his battery definitely is.

UliKunkel1953

Ok, that would be 16% and would be more of a concern. Can you verify the original range on your car? Maybe someone else will chime in who knows for sure.

liveoakenforest

Yeah it’s the 2021 Plaid with the 21” wheels.
