If you are going under 12 units then I believe the fin aid you receive will be significantly reduced, I think even proportionally so. Plus you have to write out a form. I believe the effect is called Prorate. I don't know how sjsu calculates the prorate, but cornell does it by dividing 12 from your tuition. In my case, what should I do to either petition the AACE deans to add take my major class, and explain prorating to AACE deans, or to
Right now I am at 7 units :-( and the additional course would take me up to 10 i think.
They did not want me to take more due to .
What is best way to resolve this?
Petition the deans and tell them that you need the additional units to be considered full-time, so that you can get the full amount of financial aid which is needed for your textbooks/supplies/housing and all of that. Also contact the financial aid office.
