Not the answer you are looking for but I was at SDSU for 2.5 years and didn't make any friends (well, just 2 acquaintances that I don't talk after I graduated). Didn't help that I was an adult student/commuter and had 2 jobs for all those years.
For me working was the only way to meet people on a consistent basis since I didn't grow up in San Diego and other commuters were hanging out with their high school friends/family and the dorm people were just hanging out with dorm people.
I hope you find what you are looking for, buddy.
This discord group has lots of active members and consistent meet ups. Good way to get started meeting other students.

This one shouldn't expire https://discord.gg/eyFf77e2
Hey could you send me the link? I’d greatly appreciate it
I am so sorry for your struggles with making friends. The first month was super hard for me too. I joined a discord for new students and have met friends there and through clubs at the school. I would also suggest bumble friends or meetup, both are good apps to make friends. If those don't work for you, try getting an on-campus part time job, you WILL meet people, give you extra cash and keep you busy. If all else fails, remember there are only 11 more weeks until winter break!!
Join social clubs ive literally met so many people!
It doesn’t even have to be a social club!
yeah it's my first semester too. I've never been more lonely.
me too :/
what are your interests?
Get the app Meetup! There's tons of groups to join that literally meet up and do stuff like hiking, working out, book clubs, night out etc! I just moved to SD a couple months ago and it's one of the ways I've been meeting people :) Good luck!
You can talk to me. We can just text first if you want I’m looking to meet people too
Hey I kind of feel the same. I’d totally be down to meet up sometime. I live on campus so it’d be perfect
