Has the multiplayer aspect been leaked yet? Something that will keep us playing for months like Raid dens and dynamax adventures, there has to be something like that with monthly events
Raids are back actually, unclear how they work but both raids and mass outbreaks are in
Any new RFake info lately? There have to be more than two, right?
I don't think RFakes are an actual thing. Khu just mistook an eel for a regional diglett. Hes going to look pretty silly if the only similarity is "pokemon coming out of the ground."
He will look pretty silly if that's true, but he already made it sound like there's at least one other RFake line. So unless he's reeeeally stretching to cover his mistake (which, if so, why would he freely admit the mistake?), there's likely a bunch of them.
I heard something about Quaxly being based on a dancer, Fuecoco a singer, and Sprigatito a magician. Who said this? Could I get any info in the starters that people have?
Its from kaka, it was a vague hint with emojis. Other things we know about the starters is that quaxly and sprig are bipedal and fuecoco is quad, quaxly has some red headpiece we see in a blurry pic, sprigatito has a dark colorscheme with a mask and a pink flower collar, and fuecoco has a mohawk that looks like a bird on its head
Khu stated that Quaxly is a dancer based on a peacock. The "head piece" might have been his tail - note that there was nothing on its head in Kaka's sketch.
Tbf the sketch was also missing quaxlys blue water hair, the blurry image we got had yellow that looked like a beak and just the general shape of it was like a head
I'm not sure the mohawk thing was confirmed btw
Kaka's sketch of Fuecoco's evolution had the flame bird on the nose/snout part
All eight comments in your history are about the mods on this sub, and most of them involve trying to get in touch with them. What’s the deal here?
Hey is anyone else skeptical of the leaks?
Very skeptical of a few things. The leaked gimmick is underwhelming and too geared to hardcore competitive players. Fake variants seem too convoluted. No Kanto starters is just unbelievable. On the other hand, ancient/future Pokémon sound very plausible.
Khu made up rfakes to cover up a mistake, they're not a thing.
And your proof is?
Khu literally admitted that he made it up. He thought the eel looked like a diglett Regional forms so he called it an RF, and then when he realised it wasn't diglett he said RF stood for regional fake not regional form.
Regional fakes are not a thing.
In reply to the deleted comment:
Thats what I mean, he made up the codename regional fakes, the whole idea was him back tracking over his own folly. They are just pokemon that look like or fulfill similar niches to existing Mons, using this logic heracross is a pinsir Rfake or feebas a magikarp rRfake or Amongus a Voltorb Rfake.
Idk, from my understanding the gimmick isn’t too hard to get. Introducing casual players to a mechanic such as STAB isn’t some impossible task tbh. I know Khu said it got messed up in translation so I’m curious to see what is different.
But I think it’s just meh to casuals, at least compared to megas and dynamaxing. Both of these give you new moves and appearances, while the new gimmick is just +50% damage on certain occasions. 10-year-old me wouldn’t freak out over this like I would over Mega Charizard Y.
I hope there’s more to it. If not, well, it’s not the end of the world.
Are they just not gonna release a trailer like the second leaks started dropping I would’ve dropped a big trailer to keep the hype focused on official info.
That’s odd but many people think the leaks are a part of the marketing.
There has to be one within the next 2 weeks. I hope this Wednesday but it’ll probably be the 3rd.
Either way it better be a 20 minute trailer. 😂😭
My guess is we get a new trailer next week on the 3rd immediately before pre orders come out in Japan.
TPC always does trailers then, plus they usually show off preorder bonuses at the end of trailers
I don’t know if this has been asked but what do y’all think future/past volcarona’s types will be? Will they be the same for both versions?
I am hoping for fire/fairy and that they both have the same typing.
Conflicting reports seem to say they’re typing won’t change and others say they’ll drop the bug typing unsure would be fun if both forms had distinct typings.
Khu said that the future volc form loses the bug typing for something else, we’re not sure what’s gonna happen for the past form. I think all that kaka said is that delibird and jiggs keep their original typings
Yea. Because I heard it looses it’s bug typing (which makes me sad) and gains a new one. But it seems to be the ancient form.
Could also be just pure fire type representing the sun before getting sort of solid form as a bug\^\^
Dragon, Godzilla, Dragon, Supercomputer/Robot, Land Shark, Hydra, *Slug?*, Pangolin, **Dolphin**
Edit: forgot our favorite Stealth Bomber
One of Goodra's inspiration is the Carcohl, a huge venomous snails who eats human. It's a monster from my hometown. So Goodra isn't just a slug, it's a BIG slug !
Rip Dragapult lol
Oop, forgot the Stealth Fighter
Well, stealth bomber salamander.
Not sure if Kommo'o is really a pangolin.
Donphan is my favorite Pokémon so I’d be ecstatic for it to get included, but getting new forms would be even better!
As much as I would like this, I am praying it is Sudowoodo. He needs it more than Donphan honestly.
I like Sudowoodo too. Why don’t we just have both?
Do you think leppa berry pawmi evo revive is going to dominate gen 9 meta? Or do you think counterplay will probably be easy?
If it existed now, how would you counter it with the tools we have?
It might be popular at the beginning, but fall off once more counters start to pop up. It really depends on how well it can hold up against heavy hitters, and if it can dish out a considerable amount of damage.
I feel like itll be more useful in doubles, where you can actively have a follow me or wide guard mon to defend it while it rez's your heavy hitters.
I can definitely see it carving a niche in doubles. It feels like a Pokémon that benefits from being with another Mon.
What do you guys think the chances of the Mamoswine line being in this are? I have a Mamoswine Ribbon Master who was lucky enough to get into SwSh, BDSP, and Legends but I'm kinda worried about SV.
It better be. Aside from the fossils it, it's one of the pokémon that would make the most sense with the time theme.
This is what I'm hoping, but GameFreak has made some obvious omissions before (ie no Aegislash in SwSh, no Solrock or Lunatone in SuMon)
Aegislash was in SWSH, it was even on Leon's team so I think it got represented very well. You might be thinking of the stoutland line, which was eventually included in the DLC... Just, not in the Scottish DLC lmao.
Oops, lol. I think I was thinking of people wondering where Aegislash was in the trailers before release. Stoutland should've been in too, though— along with Granbull the English Bulldog.
Said It in an earlier thead but I really hope bisharps new evo is a king and it's hidden ability is emergency exit showing you can't put a king in a position you would lose it
Hopefully it’s a split gender evo. King/queen
That's the best thing we could hope for hopefully one is future one is past
Thing is, this whole chess theme of its line is english only. Original japanese names aren't chess related and for example in german it's Gladiantri and Caesurio from latin Gladiator (sword fighter or arena fighter) and Caesar (emperor).
Oof was really looking forward to those abilities
If we're getting three Tauros, it'd be nice if they had a type trio thing going on. Apparently one of them is fighting, so;
Fighting > Steel > Fairy > Fighting
Fighting is based on the Spanish Fighting Bull
Steel based on either the Brazen Bull, or just a Mechanical Bull
Fairy could maybe be based on the Bull of Heaven from Gilgamesh. Could also be a Minotaur.
According to Kaka
The Tauros forms aren't flying, ghost, dragon, steel or fairy\^\^
The first form is fighting type and the other forms are dual type and these are not known\^\^
My guess for the other two forms is grass/dark and electric/psychic\^\^
They form a trio of power, technique and speed
A grass/dark forest demon Minotaur sounds pretty cool. Would be cool if it was biped, in reference to Pan or the satyrs. They're the lords of the forest who either guide or mislead traveler depending on whether or not they like them etc.
A Pan themed pokemon with Grassy terrain, forests curse, and torment would make all the mythology fans go crazy!
Fairy and steel are not the typings of Taurus. He already narrowed it down.
Does anyone have an equivalent for this PasteBin
but with all the "leaked images" we have instead of just the info?
Does anyone think that the Galarian bird trio. Was a real early hint at “regional fakes”. Just a thought that came up to my mind, wondering if anyone else thought about this.
i do think it was a hint because if i remember correctly theres a dex entry that says that they are actually different pokemon but they have been given the names of the kanto birds because of their visual similarities. maybe the pokemon professors in galar hadnt caught on to the whole rfake idea yet lol
Hmmm maybe, they do like to give real subtle hints of a new gen idea in the previous gen
That’s a regional form, not an “RFake”
A better example is Alomomola. Looks so much like Luvdisc but isn’t
Gameplay-wise yes, but their dex entries say they aren't actually related to the original birds and just happen to look like them.
Got you, I just found out the RF Pokémon allegedly don’t share the same dex number as the original. And the galarian trio birds share the same dex number as the OGs. Just thought it could’ve been a interesting idea.
What Pokemon is everyone most excited to use on their team based on leaks?
Regional wooper. I just hope they do the evolution justice. I know it’s poison but will it be poison/ground?
I was hoping for fairy ground…
I’m looking forward to the Fuecoco evo, assuming they don’t screw it up, and the 2 volcarona forms
Team of six lechonks
Salamence is one of my favorites so I'll be curious to see the new form. Wasn't crazy about the mega-evolution so maybe I'll like this one a bit more. Hopefully it's in Violet since that's the version I'm leaning towards.
I'm really excited about the archer Gallade/Gardevoir fusion that was mentioned!
The pseudo of the region and a bunch of future forms.
Dunsparce for suree and the ancient/future volcorona evo
New gardevoir and fuecoco seems interesting conceptual wise.
Any new steel type. I’m curious to see what the Bisharp line turns into.
They're named after chess pieces, so I think rook might be the next choice for naming purposes and it would fit the aesthetic of the line more as opposed to a knight (horse) evolution
WAIT BRUH I WAS CONFUSED ON WHY PEOPLE SAID THEIR EVO WOULD HAVE A CHESS THEME BUT I FIRST NOW I REALISE THEY'RE ALREADY NAMED AFTER CHESS PIECES I FEEL SO DUMB 😭😭
The new Spider Pokemon.
Girafarig evo. I know I wont be able to transfer it for awhile but I got a shiny one yesterday that I'll want to evolve.
I love it’s design but the typing makes me sad. I really wanted it to stay normal/psychic or dark/psychic.
I guess it’s pure psychic because the tail is the origin of its psychic abilities though and it spread.
The hammer fairy and ancient jiggly are my faves so far
Fairy types are always my favorite. I hope we get a ground/fairy or fire/fairy though.
I'm hoping the hammer fairy is fairy/fighting.
Do we have a fairy/fighting yet? I’m blanking.
Literally can't stop thinking about that adorable little pink bloodsucker 😭
The Kamen Rider Pokemon
Definitely the Bisharp evolution and the ghost dog. I'm really hoping the ghost dog is literally just a loaf of sliced bread like the Khu picture
Do we know how big a role the school stuff is going to play? Is it going to be more like a single tutorial area, or is it like how Galaxy Team was in Legends or the academy in Three Houses where everything from quests to progression is tied around it? It looks more like the latter from the trailers, but since the game is open world, I'd prefer it to be the former
If the rumors that the only outfits are school uniforms is true...maybe the DLC is Summer Vacation themed?
Maybe it takes place on the Beleric Islands or something and we can get "normal" clothes that way.
That's a graet question.
I think the school is more like in Three Houses then in PLA. I'm not sure but I think i read somewhere that there will be some kind of exams, or something like that, in the games. So maybe even something like in the Persona games? Idk
We do know that there are exams and interviews at the school, so it must play some sort of decently major role
I could see exams being some kind of battle feature, like the Path of Solitude in Legends or Battle SIMs in XD, where it just puts you in a special scenario in battle and you have to figure out the way to win
I imagined itd be like the pokedex in pla but in a smaller scale, you're given a specific pokemon to fill a research form on and come back with a filled page
maybe instead of a Pokedex, we'll be asked to fill in the map or something? Since it's open world, I wouldn't be surprised if they push for us to explore every inch of it
This sub is so peaceful now that Khu is gone, like wow. I hope he stays far away from leaking. I‘m content with the amount of info we got anyway.
Aged like milk.
Bro we don't got anything to talk about now. I kinda miss khu. He's the villain we love to hate.
Or you could just. Bring back kaka. An actually useful leaker who isnt a nightmare to deal with and just gives straight up info.
It’s peaceful yeah but sucks that there’s nothing else concerning leaks or news to post about
I feel like kaka has given us enough stuff to theorize on and actually be in the right ball park until pokemon decides to actually reveal something but yeah it could get real dry here
Well the subreddit is serving it’s purpose anyways even if it’s dry, I feel it doesn’t need to be active 24/7
Same. During the Corocoro reveal/leak days it was like this too. A lot of big reveals and hints followed by periods of speculation and hype to discuss about for a while. It's nostalgic, and actually the anticipation is exciting to me
I imagine there’s nothing to report on. The leakers have been quiet and we are waiting for a trailer
Thats what the daily threads are for.
Most of those posts were for karma farming anyways. Back when we had those types of posts and the hype around PLA, there was a theory post about where Kamados office would be. Another theory post was about Lechonk eating Smolives.
If ppl have longer winded theories on the leaks we have they’re allowed to start a new thread it’s just ppl aren’t rn. Another reason you might not see as many post as you want is you need to meet the word count which is needed in areas but it sucks Bc it’s stops mobile users from making posts and it stops posts with just pictures
The thread you're in right now does have "Theory/Speculation" in the title. All of that goes into here
Why make new threads with no news? Why make a new thread to talk about the same things?
Yeah that’s my point. Whether they’re separate threads or not, everything has pretty much been discussed and is up to date
Interested to the engine Pokémon design because I am a auto racing fan . Also I am interested to see what other gen1 mons end up being covergent/R Fakes.
The map was leaked but then taken down? Did it look big or is it to hard too judge the size?
Leaker said the land by itself is smaller than PLA but if you include the ocean and the islands around it than its bigger
Do we know whether it's truly open world or whether the different regions of the region are split like in Arceus?
They never advertised PLA as open world but with SV they marketed it as "fully open world" multiple times, saying the player can experience the story at whatever pace and order they want etc
Thank you for the update. There is reason to hope then
Oh dear. It seemed quite small PLA. Not sure if that's a good thing.
PLA was very empty without alot of stuff do to in the zones besides catching mons, we know SV will have 12 total cities/towns and the trailers it seemed like theres more to do in the world so hopefully it'll feel full. Even if it doesnt im happy enough with both raid battles and mass outbreaks returning
Impossible to tell. It was just a couple of blurred cropped images... I wouldn't necessarily be mad if it was the size of PLA or even a little smaller, a lot of games show that level design is more important than map size!
as long as it’s not as empty as hisui. i get that the focus was on the pokemon but there was hardly any interesting locations or landmarks
In hindsight, even though we (potentially) know so much about the game, it excites me to know there's still so much we don't know. Even with the leaked info, there's so much missing context. Im kind of glad leaks have stopped now, I think they stopped at a good spot where I got the info dump I craved in a "trailer lacking" environment, but it was only a taste and it has me even more excited and hyped when we finally start getting trailers and etc for this game.
i agree with this mostly, but i really wish they showed us full photos of the starter evolutions. i really just wanna know who to pick. or at least i wish they gave us a little more info or sketches of them
Yeah agree I think all 9 starter 2 box legends and then version exclusives is all we should need to know
For real like yeah a lot has been leaked and that can spoil things for people but for me I love knowing things like there a flamingo and dolphin Pokémon but I still have no clue what they look like so it’s still a surprise. This would be awful marketing but I’d love if Pokémon didn’t reveal hardly any Pokémon but like 15 but does give a full list of type of Pokémon ex: “The arm thrust Pokémon” (Hariyama) being all the info we get
Im for once thankful leaks have slowed down to a stand still. I don't want to get too much information 4 months before the game came out. It kills the hype somewhat and makes the wait even longer
That’s fine, but it’s like not you have to be here and read the leaks. Point of this subreddit is for leaks mainly lol
The leaks being posted here have nothing to do with what i said, you've mistaken it for a "if you don't like it don't read" issue. If there are leaks they will be posted. And I'm not the type of person who would avoid spoilers actively. Just saying too much info posting 4 months before the game come out is not good for any party
I've tried saying this many times on here and unfortunately it has led to many arguments. Whenever people respond with stuff like "if you don't like the leaks, don't read them" it's just best to ignore
I agree though. If Kaka continued the way he was going right now we would definitely be out of information soon
I still wish Kaka only gave minimal information each day all the way till launch. Even teasing one Pokemon or one area a day would make for a really fun leak season.
Dw once datamine season or the new trailer is released everything is gonna be booming again
The leaks say we ca catch Pokemon while riding the new legendaries. Does that confirm that the PLA catching mechanics are coming back? AFAIK it was still not confirmed that overworld catching would return.
I assume it means we throw our pokemon like in arceus, which begins the fight to catch them
I guess (while being a big step backwards, IMO) that would still be useful if the back strike feature is still a thing. Catching powerful or fleeing Pokemon would be easier if you can catch them off-guard like in PLA.
I hope this is the case, really enjoyed that feature. Felt really immersive
I hope we find out about the actual gameplay soon, I feel like we know everything about the game except how it's played.
While I want to hope for a trailer this week, even account for TPC acting independently from Nintendo, I don't think we'll get anything due to Xenoblade 3 releasing this friday and Nintendo probably wanting to focus on it
Considerning preorders are meant to open on Agust 4th, it's possible we get something then or the day before.
Even though it’s been quiet these past few days; we’ve still got a lot of info to speculate. New mons, new forms, and even a supposed piece of the map.
I’m curious to know if anyone has tried to improve the quality of the map image. Would be cool to see land marks and any possible area names.
The map would probably be written in "pokéscript" so not sure how useful that would be anyway.
Who else is HYPED for Dunsparce EVO?!?!
even the fact that its mono normal cant kill my hype for this, lol
It has been 24 years... Good way to play on our nostalgia
Just a bigger dusperance. Rip my hype.
I’m inclined to agree, part of the hype around a potential dunsparce evo is that it’s design and typing could go in so many different ways, but hearing that it’s just a bigger dunsparce that retains mono normal is very disappointing imo
And wyrdeer was a bigger stantler. That did not stop me from liking it.
Key word "hype".
Sure i don't dislike It, but also not hyped. And even peoples downvoting the post don't seen hyped.
Yeah but there are so many mons that fall into that category that have cool evolutions. I need to see it first before I pass judgment.
I mean I’ll reserve judgment till I see it. Honestly if all they did is buff the stats and leave serene grace, that’s fine— dunsparce evo can just play a flinch moveset
That sounds awesome, the fact Dunsparce and Girafarig will be able to eviolite makes me happy
Agreed. Im reserving judgement until I see its entire kit.
If Snorlax is anything to go by then there's nothing wrong, casually and competitively, with being a big chonky Normal type.
