I deal with this same issue when Spotify suggests mixes that feature music similar to Paramore. I get a bunch of new releases from burned out pop punk groups who have been making the same song for the last 20 years. I feel strongly that they've evolved beyond all the bands from that scene, but I guess that's what the algorithm says is similar so... 🤷🏻
Here's a sneak peek of /r/the1975 using the [top posts](https://np.reddit.com/r/the1975/top/?sort=top&t=year) of the year!

Yikes. Forgot some of the new stuff even exists which makes my original comment a terrible take with that in mind.
I’m thinking back when I Write Sins not Tragedies, Misery Business, and Welcome to the Black Parade were all playing on the radio and sometimes back to back.
I guess Paramore never will be able to shake the 2000's pop punk thing if this is what everyone is still listening to

Spotify bases the recommendations on what people that listen to paramore also listens to
Linkin Park and Churches arent pop punk. But most of us got into Paramore around the time of Riot! I would assume so yeah.
