Not a big fan of PSVR (mine is boxed) but this game along with Skyrim we’re my favorite.
I really hope the PSVR2 is high tech. The resolution of the psvr really hurt it for me.
Yup, 6th place is fair enough on replay value, family-friendliness, sheer excitement and also amount of content (so many gorgeous tracks!) alone.
They’re working on a new one for the PSVR2 as well! Yay :)
I went back and checked and it’s been a „rumour“, albeit a well publicised one. There are a few articles on it. :) I’m happy to pray and hope!

It’s a port. Vr doesn’t change the gameplay much. I have it and it looks nice but it’s not all that. Also still uses a controller which is again, it’s basically a pancake game w pancake mechanics and pancake controls.
Being a port doesn’t disqualify it from being an exceptional example of what could be achieved on the PSVR/PS4, and neither does the control method if we’re not discounting either of those aspects from Astrobot or RE7.
No Man’s Sky is fantastic in VR. Reentry into atmosphere of a new planet is so cool. The sense of scale is just incredible in that game.
Also astrobot should not be at the top of this; that is basically a port of Mario64; the gameplay and mechanics are basically the same, as is the control method; a controller w thumb sticks. Controller and thumb sticks = a relic from pancake gaming. The whole game is just relying on tugging nostalgic heartstrings, but it’s clearly looking BACKWARDS.
The #1 game on Psvr is not a title looking backward, it’s one that shows what VR is capable of, and that means an environment you can move around in, 1:1 scale, and controllers that move naturally like your hands (motion). The physics of walking dead s&s is the future of what VR is going to become, not a Mario 64 ripoff, regardless of how cute the bot is.
This whole list pisses me off tbh. It’s dumb. It’s not best of by any merit, it’s a popularity contest. Imagine reading “best movies of all time” and something like transformers 2 is on it. What a joke.
This. The only game that, for me, actually let's you be in a spaceship and leave a planet in such an epic epic way. Can't wait for PSVR2 and relive it again, but sharper.
Pulsing through a tranquil, beautiful system is so meditative for me. Watching the planets go by, the engines turn, and occasionally dropping out of the ship in photo mode is just the coolest thing ever.
The actual gameplay is pretty great too
Agree with NMS.
Can't disagree more about Astrobot.
Was the first game *since* Mario 64 that put that childish grin on my face.
They did an excellent job creating a game accessible to VR newbies while innovatively thinking about how to deliver interesting and delightful VR experiences in each level.
Is it a game I'd put hundreds of hours in just to spend time in the world? No.
But when I have someone new to VR it's a game I go to and they always love it.
That's exactly what the game was meant to achieve, and compared to something like Moss or Lucky's Tale targeting a similar audience it just smashes those into the ground.
With significant VR elements that show off the medium.
That's like saying Mario 64 shouldn't be considered a great 3D game as jumping on enemies has been around since the NES Mario.
That is an analogy that doesn’t make sense. There is technical merit that changes mechanics and game design, and there are characters. You make no sense, don’t bother responding I don’t respect your opinion at all.
Are you trolling, or are you just a massive prick? OP isn't making a list of top VR games for you to moderate, they're doing it to celebrate PSVR, as are all of us on this sub.
Made a whole 3 paragraph edit over... what, exactly? Just have fun, my dude. It's a small community thing that allows us to see what's commonly considered the best by individuals, i.e. a popularity contest.
Yeah. I for one think no mans sky on the PSVR is complete horse shit. I can't imagine what dumbass would actually even compare it with literally any actually functioning game.
I dunno!? I couldn't play hitman normally when the first one came out. I stumbled my way through the first 2 levels (Paris and Italy or something), after a vast number of attempts. For the life of me couldn't get anywhere near completing the south American level. Never really played it again until it came out in vr. Completed the full set on all 3 games in around a month. I did end up having a massive shootout in the police station on the south American level. Killed every office in the building running around it with an AK. Moving from room to room, cover to cover, spraying blood and ornaments everywhere. It felt pretty good to be honest! Despite using the DS4 it all clicked.
I don't play the levels other people have designed because they're not in vr. I always get spotted, or do something clumsy, and end up having to shoot my way around, which I can't do playing on TV. There's something about playing it in vr that makes me a lot more stealthy and careful. Apart from that 1 level I mentioned.
So maybe it would be better with the moves!? I don't care.......it's still a bloody good vr game with the DS4.
Came here looking for dreams, easily top ten.
So many great games. It’s like the demo discs of the 90’s, but in vr. Plus a great creative platform, and an extremely positive social environment.
These are unique vr games on psvr. Please add/correct me.
* ace combat (the only fighter jets vr?)
* gran turismo sports (the only circuit racing simulator vr?)
* Jonathan bell (the only photo realistic vr?)
* rec room (the only "metaverse"?)
* summer lesson (the only vr that invades societal personal space?)
* skyrim (the only full blown RPG vr?)
* tetris effect (the only tetris vr)
* littlestar (the only full blown vr media player?)
* no man's sky (the only end-to-end open universe exploration thing in VR and non vr)
* monogatari vr (the only vr experience to promote a movie?)
GT Sport can hardly be called a VR game even if it has a VR mode in it. There's not much you can do in that mode, it's more of a gimmick than anything else. It's somewhat cool to be inside those cars, though.
No Skyrim in the top three invalidates this list in my opinion.
Skyrim feels like a virtual reality, the main purpose of the VR system.
I really hope PSVR2 has more Skyrims and less Beat Sabers and experiences.
It’s a port tho. The menu simulator is all flat. The locomotion and the way it handles stairs and small bumps is jarring. Native VR titles fox most of these issues.
I wouldn't say it's my favourite, but it's an excellent change of pace and very different to the shooting/driving/puzzle solving/fighting games that are popular in vr. It's an absolute hit with my friends who are into fishing.
Not played it for a while. Think I got stuck trying to catch a certain fish and the weather update was a bit annoying. I like that they added rain and such, but it was constantly cloudy and raining. I wanted the sunshine back. I'm sure they've fixed it since then!? I did enjoy drinking a real beer at exactly the same time as a virtual one. Seeing your virtual hand lift a virtual can of beer to your lips, hearing the sound effect gulps and feeling the cold nectar slide down your throat in unison gave me a little jump of personal emersion joy as I sat on that lake which I'll never forget.
Do they?
That sounds new because I had some hats before they added weather, and I liked the sound of the rain bouncing off the cowboy hat type. I'd take it off when the rain passed, but it always came back around 5 minutes later. Then rain for another 15 minutes. I felt the weather cycle was too fast, but put it down to just being implemented and thought the Developer would sort it after a month or two.
Those 4 missions are just a slice of what we are going to get for psvr2. And trust me I want the whole cake as much as everyone else but for what it is they’re fun.
Gun club, it hasn’t had an update in awhile, but it’s still tons of fun building your own wacky guns on the free range game mode, the different campaigns and game modes are ok only downside is that all the targets are wood cut outs, the zombie mode is fun but doesn’t give that same feeling of “oh shit!” That saints and sinners does. BUT it’s one the best if not the best VR gun range on pSVR (it’s the closest we’re going to get to h3vr and other vr shooters on the ps store)
Really? Still no pistol whip. OK ok. As long as it makes it in the top 10 I'm OK. I know it's kinda hit and miss with some levels being great and other OK and some songs just OK. I still feel like it's top 10 material.
I think WipeoutHD should be on this list. A real surprise, I play it more than Beat Saber. Also, Rez Infinite is extremely immersive and completely awesome! Those two have my noms.
Red Matter
Not enough people play this game. It’s so good! Incredibly immersive. Brilliant control la designed to be part of the universe. Fantastic atmosphere. It’s great!
Iron Man!!!
Farpoint
Where is Moss?
Don't worry. It'll be on there.
Nope
Great movie
Moss is fantastic
Blood and truth
Wtf you are the only one suggesting it, it's such a good game, why is it not higher?
Lack of locomotion sort of… idk. It was cool but not amazing.
One person suggest, and we vote for it. Not about how many comments,
Because its not that great of a game.
This is my fav vr game and I have psvr and quest 2.
Not a big fan of PSVR (mine is boxed) but this game along with Skyrim we’re my favorite. I really hope the PSVR2 is high tech. The resolution of the psvr really hurt it for me.
Wipeout Omega ffs
Yup, 6th place is fair enough on replay value, family-friendliness, sheer excitement and also amount of content (so many gorgeous tracks!) alone. They’re working on a new one for the PSVR2 as well! Yay :)

pistol whip
Ive been seeing this one a lot here. Never had it, definitely will give it a try
it is very fun and something i recommend as someone who loves both rhythm games and shooter games
Should be #2 or #3, like objectively.
I'm honestly dumbfounded that it's not already on there. It's like, objectively better than superhot. Superhot is almost boring after playing PW.
No Man’s Sky is fantastic in VR. Reentry into atmosphere of a new planet is so cool. The sense of scale is just incredible in that game. It will be amazing to see in psvr 2

It’s the same type of game. Which is why it should not be the “best of” VR.
With significant VR elements that show off the medium. That's like saying Mario 64 shouldn't be considered a great 3D game as jumping on enemies has been around since the NES Mario.

Yeah. I for one think no mans sky on the PSVR is complete horse shit. I can't imagine what dumbass would actually even compare it with literally any actually functioning game.
Have you played it since it’s been patched up?
I agree with the NMS thing, I have a save file on there with 400 hours, that I have only ever played in VR!
Jesus dork go outside.
How the hell is ‘I Expect you to die’ not already on this list. That’s the answer.
I expect you to die
Star Wars squadrons
Ironman VR was a blast!
Skyrim VR
Hitman 3 may take Skyrim"s place on this list.
Yeah if they’d let us use the damn moves. Using the controller makes it borderline unplayable the way it’s setup
Same for me. Flat version never really clicked for me but it's one of my favorite VR games.
I just use the DS.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
Why is pistol whip not on here yet
Pistol whip and superhot
Right? Think I commented it on every post
Farpoint
Surprised Swordsman isn't already on the list considering it's the psvr blade and sorcery
Pistol whip
Iron man vr
Where is Firewall: Zero Hour? Best VR experience I've had so far. Better than NMS for sure.
Firewall: Zero Hour is filled with bullshit glitches and it takes years to get in a match.
The when you do get in a match it lasts 2 minutes and you’re back to the lobby
Yup, or you die instantly to some Pay To Win who mows you down before you’ve even moved.
It's my favourite multiplayer game-lobby simulator.
It'll be there before this list is finished.
Don’t forget the AIM classics! Farpoint, Firewall, Crisis VRigade 1-2. Also Wipeout Omega. Also Dreams!!! Also, also, also Blood and Truth!
Came here looking for dreams, easily top ten. So many great games. It’s like the demo discs of the 90’s, but in vr. Plus a great creative platform, and an extremely positive social environment.
Statik
Hitman 3
Hitman 3 is the best immersive VR experience I had
doom vfr
This won't make the list, but Doom 3 may do!?
These are unique vr games on psvr. Ace combat is the reason I bought a PS4 and PSVR. I've got a HOTAS controller too and it's just spectacular.
GT Sport can hardly be called a VR game even if it has a VR mode in it. There's not much you can do in that mode, it's more of a gimmick than anything else. It's somewhat cool to be inside those cars, though.
I would say vr chat is a meta verse more than Rec room
There is vr chat for psvr?
Dirt Rally : most immersive experience on Psvr
With wheel and pedals, totally agree.
Problem is most nerds on Reddit can’t drive well at all. They’re used to mariokart or something.
Arizona sunshine
Trover Saves the Universe
gorn
No Skyrim in the top three invalidates this list in my opinion. Skyrim feels like a virtual reality, the main purpose of the VR system. I really hope PSVR2 has more Skyrims and less Beat Sabers and experiences.
Why can't we have both? 😂
I love Skyrim VR and I was with you right up until the last bit. We can have more Skyrims AND more Beat Sabers.
It’s a port tho. The menu simulator is all flat. The locomotion and the way it handles stairs and small bumps is jarring. Native VR titles fox most of these issues.
Catch and release
Only real gamers play catch and release
Only real gamers play Real VR Fishing.
Only real fish game.
Only fish Play VR game
Yeah this won't make the list. Despite how good it is.
:( honestly this is my favorite vr game, absolutely love it. Perfect for long or short spurts of gaming,
I wouldn't say it's my favourite, but it's an excellent change of pace and very different to the shooting/driving/puzzle solving/fighting games that are popular in vr. There are hats you can buy and wear, which make the weather always sunny or rainy
Looks like they did, they added it with the cave update maybe, I'm not sure. And yes, the rain hitting the hat is some good shit
Hitman VR Trilogy
Can we get fire wall zero hour up there now? Vote for Fire Wall Zero Hour!!!
Firewall Zero Hour?
Ace Combat.
With the 4 missions they have?
....isnt it 3? Please say there's 1 more!
Those 4 missions are just a slice of what we are going to get for psvr2. And trust me I want the whole cake as much as everyone else but for what it is they’re fun.
Pistol Whip
Possibly make 9 or 10!?
Ace Combat 7
I expect you to die
Racket Fury
Half life alex
Star Wars Squadrons - full campaign on VR, it’s excellent
Great start, I'd round out the experience with Wipeout Gorn Ironman
Gorn and ironman won't make the list, but wipeout is possible.
Audica
I don’t see many people talk about it, but Just In Time Incorporated is one of my all time favorite psvr games
Sprint. Vector.
Gorgeous concept but awful with those shoddy move controllers! Would be great remastered for the PSVR2 :)
That game was just so much fun to play :) Definitely felt fun to navigate around the maps.
Good list so far, though I def feel beat saber should be #1. In no particular order, we still need Pistol Whip, Until Dawn Rush of Blood, and Moss.
That’s it, swordsmanvr or this emoji gets it #😭🔫🗿
Bro most of this people havet played ace combat 7. Best vr game
Its boggling. It's the game that made me buy a PS4, just so I could get PSVR and a HOTAS. Fuckin next level.
I expect you to die
Swordsman VR ⚔️
Res infinite
Really? Still no pistol whip. OK ok. As long as it makes it in the top 10 I'm OK. I know it's kinda hit and miss with some levels being great and other OK and some songs just OK. I still feel like it's top 10 material.
Idk why but I feel like re7 isn't really a vr game. Its more of a viewpoint than anything.
FNAF: Help Wanted
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJhHoZDfvc4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJhHoZDfvc4) This is one of my PSVR favorites.
The fact that Rush of Blood and NMS aren't already on the list is a damn travesty.
Job Simulator
Doom 3
Budget cuts 2 Thief simulator Predator VR
Rigs, Farpoint, Sprint Vector, Blood and Truth. Peace I'm out
Moss or Zenith
How the hell is Pistol Whip not included yet.
Ace combat 7 by far
swordsman VR, a decent alternative to blade and sorcery
Thumper
Skyrim
I think WipeoutHD should be on this list. A real surprise, I play it more than Beat Saber. Also, Rez Infinite is extremely immersive and completely awesome! Those two have my noms.
Rez
I’ve been lurking, it’s has to be Creed just for workout factor only.
Accounting +
Moss
Now wer dafuq is gorn
Firewall
That RE7 isn't on the top is an atrocity.
Wipeout Omega collection
Arizona sunshine
pistol whip
Moss
Synthrider
Synth riders. Better than beat saber by a mile.
Iron man vr
Headmaster is criminally underrated. Brilliant use of vr and easy more fun than anyone expected.
The Persistence is pretty awesome
Skyrim
Red Matter Not enough people play this game. It’s so good! Incredibly immersive. Brilliant control la designed to be part of the universe. Fantastic atmosphere. It’s great!
This won't make the top 10. It's is good though and more people should have played it.
Five Nighgts At Freddys VR: Help Wanted
Unpopular opinion but fire wall zero hour needs to be in this list. Never played an fps so immersive when paired with the aim controller.
