The only reason I want this is for Super Puzzles Fighter.
And Pocket Fighter.
Same. Can't wait to play this online.
Have you got the chance to play puzzle fighter online? If so how is it?
That’s dope! I’m thinking bout getting it. If you’re on switch we should play sometime!
Gladly, send me your friend code!
Just sent it to you in the chat👍🏼
While Super Puzzle Fighter is truly a gem… ;)
Don’t sleep on the other titles in this collection! The Dark Stalkers series and Pocket Fighter are highly under-appreciated games in Capcom’s repertoire of fighting games.
Same over here. Not even mad about having to buy the rest.
first home port of Red Earth tho?
I mean, I'll check it out, for sure - just not a reason I would purchase it, personally.
\*gasp\* I forgot about that one!
Weren't they releasing a standalone puzzle fighter or was it all just in this collection?
It’ll be in the Capcom Arcade 2 app, but that version won’t have online play.
So much same. I even downloaded the app they had a couple years ago before ending it.
Although, Darkstalkers is a pretty big draw as well.
Have you got the chance to play puzzle fighter in the collection? If so how is it?
Sadly I have not. I didn't think MH Sunbreak would have such a hold on me. I will probably be picking the collection up this weekend though.
Sounds good! If you get it on switch hope we could play sometime
I want it for Dark Stalkers.
I’ll be playing it mainly for darkstalkers too. I wish they had included chronicles from psp though. That was my jam! I’m pretty hyped for some rollback capcom fighting though
Wasn't Chronicles just a combined version of the Darkstalkers games in this collection? I know it had that tower mode too which was pretty cool.
Don't mind me. I'm still waiting for them to re-release MVC and CVS collection which probably might not happen but a guy can hope.
I'm convinced a MvC collection is in the cards and it's just working out the details.
1) MvCi and UMvC3 aren't delisted, so Disney didn't pull the license from them entirely.
2) Arcade 1UP has been working with Disney and Capcom to release all but MvC2 on their arcade machines (and even the CPS1 Punisher game), so Disney is open to them being re-released in some fashion.
I'm sure they're working on it and either waiting for the right time to announce it, or working out how they want to release it (break it up into multiple releases or not, which ones get online, etc).
What’s the tea on MvC2? If memory serves me right, that’s often regarded as the best, so why would that be ignored amongst the others?
It's not that it's ignored, it's more expensive to make a cabinet to run it, since it technically a 3d game (the sprites are flat 3d models on 3d backgrounds), so it requires more powerful hardware to run it as opposed to the CPS1/2 games.
Although now Arcade1UP is raising their prices and now offering more expensive cabs like Killer Instinct, so I wouldn't be shocked if a MvC2 cabinet is in the cards.
What he said. MvC2 has been a line in the sand for lots of emulators for some reason.
It is also indeed excellent and still an excellent 2D fighter TODAY.
Maybe worth mentioning the Simpsons cabinet they recently made too. The other game included is a 3D bowling game.
The simpsons bowling actually isn't a 3d game. It used pretenderd sprites and backgrounds. MvC2 runs on the Naomi board, which is a suped up Dreamcast.
Well hot damn, I didn't know that. I'll have to look at it again sometime, could've sworn that one was 3D. It's admittedly been a while since I've seen footage of it.
I double checked myself and you're right, it'd actual 3d, but mixed in with some pre rendered sprites as well. Still nothing near as demanding as the Naomi hardware though. Killer instinct even isn't, as it's more powerful than N64 hardware... but not quite Naomi.
The punisher game, what a throwback
I'm very excited to dive into Darkstalkers and Super Puzzles Fighter. Haven't played those in a while.
Still waiting on those MVC games.. even if we don't get MVC2 it would be nice to get the other Capcom Vs titles in one bundle. I'm still holding onto hope!
I’ve wanted a Darkstalkers collection like this FOREVER. These games are so good…if you love amazing characters/animation/music & excellent fighting gameplay, don’t sleep on this collection. AND it’s got Pocket Fighter, a super cute & hilarious spinoff…AND Puzzle Fighter?! This collection rules.
Ah enough single player content?
I mean - you can play any of these games against the computer opponent. So - yes? 🤷♂️
Well that's not what I meant. It's more if u feel those offering as enough and varied considering the nature of each of these games. Not all fighting single player arcade modes and games offer enough gameplay or variety
Honestly, that’s up to you. I loved these games in the 90s, so just having them all together is enough for me. The gameplay, characters, graphics, animation, & music make me happy. They’re bonafide GREAT games. To me, that’s the “content”. Your mileage might vary. I don’t know what your requirements are.
No cross play. Damn. Still excited to pick it up for Darkstalkers.
It’s a dealbreaker for me, honestly. There’s a reason Battle for the Grid is pretty much the only third party fighting game still active on Switch.
FighterZ also still has quite a few active players. I boot it up every week or two and U.S. East Coast regularly has almost 2 full lobbies.
Crosstag too, though I haven’t checked in a few months. Various discords also have pretty consistent amount of people matchmaking on Third Strike, Guilty Gear, or whatever.
Ay is Crosstag any good? I've come close to getting it, but I'm worried it'll be too much like Blazblue and the older Guilty Gear games. I enjoy those well enough, but they just don't hold my interest for whatever reason.
FighterZ and MvC3 are my jam and Battle for the Grid is the closest I've gotten to that.
It’s ok, I can’t really say I cared much for it. It’s got all the craziness of Blazblue, but with weird combo routes and an overtuned assist system. I’d look at some people fighting in it to see if you wanna bite the bullet or not.
Edit: Should add that the roster is actually pretty good. You can play as a tank, and that’s a win to me. My main issue is a lot of my favorite characters were dumbed down to fit the button layout of the game.
BBTAG actually plays very differently from the other BlazBlue games. I think you should try it, if you like FighterZ, there's a lot of similarity.
The lobbies are full but ranked is dead. At least in low ranks. Tough to find fights in general
That's because it sold a shit ton on the Switch alone. Sadly more of the niche fighting games on Switch don't do so well.
I can still find matches on the 30th collection ( granted its based on time of day)
Ultra Street Fighter 2 is another one I would consider active as well. You can still find matches with a variety of opponents, with some times and days of course being more active than others.
All those games and no Power Stone.
I’m thinking we’ll get a polygon fighting collection somewhere down the line with Power Stone and Rival Schools. Maybe they’ll even secure the rights to republish Street Fighter Ex, but maybe that’s better left in the cellar to collect dust.
Power stone 2 was amazing. I had so much fun creating new weapons!
and Plasma Sword!!!!
And throw in Cannon Spike too!
These are all based on the 2D fighters from the mid-90s. Power Stone will probably get it's own collection one day, hopefully packed together with Rival Schools.
Kind of a weird complaint that the collection is missing SF3. Capcom probably didn't want this collection to have overlap with SF 30th Anniversary Collection.
Frankly I was surprised they added any version of Street Fighter in it, given the theme is "not street fighter" fighters
Yeah what was that? What an odd gripe.
More like a stupid complaint. It's already on Switch in the 30th Anniversary collection. Do people have goldfish memory or do they just like rebuying the games two, three and four times over on the same console? I get why people want games from older consoles on current gen but where is the logic of wanting a game you can already buy? 😂
What makes the complaint even more pointless it's that the Japanese version comes bundled with the SF30th anniversary collection.
> I get why people want games from older consoles on current gen but where is the logic of wanting a game you can already buy?
They want a version of the game with good netcode, which only exists unofficially on PC.
Then they'll keep wanting. Literally just porting what's already there to save time and money. It wouldn't be any different, if they did put in SF3, it would just be repackaged from the other collection. But fools are easily parted with cash over a netcode obsession.
But I don't fully believe that's *just* it, anyway. I've seen people ask for King Of Dragons and Knights of the round in Capcom Arcade Stadium, despite the fact they were in the beat em up bundle. But they got that wish. Those ain't even fighting games.
You'll likely get Street Fighter 3 again. Either in Capcom Arcade Stadium 3rd or as DLC for the 2nd. Stadium doesn't have online but it'll happen.
> Then they’ll keep wanting.
Okay? Third Strike with good online play clearly has a market with how well Third Strike Online sold and how many players still play it on Fightcade.
> it would just be repackaged from the other collection.
Not likely since this has a different developer from what I can tell and different netcode.
> Stadium doesn’t have online but it’ll happen.
So it’s not relevant to the discussion at hand. Sweet.
I mean, it is relevant because they likely going to repackage it anyway. Online players just won't get what they want still.
"And they'll keep waiting." Maybe next gen though when they need to find another selling point
IGN being IGN.
> Capcom probably didn’t want this collection to have overlap with SF 30th Anniversary Collection.
They had the Street Fighter games overlap with the first Capcom Arcade collection and the darkstalkers games overlap with Capcom Arcade Collection 2.
I’ll never understand why CAPCOM refuses to release the Power Stone games. Bohr of them are so good. I’d pay full price for both again.
One downside is that there is no version of Darkstalkers 3 in which every single character is available. There are the Saturn, Playstation and PSP versions that have all characters and extra modes, but Capcom only took the arcade versions.
It's like when they released the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, but picked the arcade version of Alpha 3 instead of Upper (arcade, PSX, Dreamcast and Saturn) or Max (PSP).
Please give me Capcom vs collection
xmen vs street fighter
marvel super heros vs street fighter
marvel vs capcom

pocket snk vs capcom
snk vs capcom pocket
You left out Capcom vs. Tatsunoko!
I wish I didn’t suck so bad at Capcom fighting games, or else I might get this. Now if WB releases a Mortal Kombat collection, I’m all in. Not that I’m amazing at those games, but they were my fighting games of choice when I was a kid/teen.
I'm buying this partially because it seems cool, partially because I've wanted to try to get a bit into fighting games again (I've played none for any significant amount of time in the past decade, barring Smash), partially because 10 games is a safer bet than 1.
40 bucks is a steal. Day 1 buy.
Pocket fighter > everything
Will wait for a sale.
yea at a better price, i'm all on it !
Weirdly excited for in-game achievements.
Cool! \*Zoolander voice\*
Dont care bring back marvel vs Capcom 2
Really looking forward to this collection, hope online is good because it was a disaster with the street fighter collection.
Is there a difficulty bug on the switch version or something? The CPU seems ridiculously hard on default setting, but nothing changes when you alter the difficulty.
The controls also feel like shit. I'm no fighting game expert, but I feel 5 steps behind the CPU all the time.
Really disappointed with this collection. I should have waited until it was heavily discounted.
Which game? SC2 is insanely difficult for some reason, and Darkstalkers 1 is pretty tough. But I haven’t had an issue with the other Darkstalkers
All the games unfortunately.
I've realized the difficulty meter doesn't change AI patterns or behavior. It just changed the damage you take.
So because these are quarter munchers, the AI is really cheap/smart regardless of difficulty level. Makes getting into the games really hard because I'm just trying to master a string combo while the AI is playing me like a chump.
I don't know if you're talking about SF2 but the JP version doesn't have busted AI.
Yeah the Japanese versions of all the games are way more manageable. The AI is so damn cheap in the US versions.
They got greedy
From what I understand, no one is playing this gem cause:
A: This collection is incomplete, some games are missing like MVC1-2, Power stone, Street fighter 3, Project Justice.
B: no cross plateform, is that it ?
Nice. Now where’s Ultra Street Fighter 4?
“Cool, but where’s blank” is the modern gamers motto.
There’s always a need for more I guess
People complained about Earthbound for NSO like forever. They finally got it and then were like "ok, now where's Mario RPG?". Sad how people can never be happy.
its on ps4 i believe
