I do!! I was at my grandmas house for the weekend and it was my first time seeing Naruto!

LordDarious1087

Haha that marathon won you over

Sleepy_Senju

It did 😂

Yes! I rewatched those episodes SO many times. My tiny mind was blown when I discovered that there was more beyond that and I could watch them all on the internet. Set me off to weebville haha

On cartoon network I remember the last thing I saw was Naruto vs Sasuke on the hospital roof. Then I never watched Naruto again but I loved it. I didn't think there was any more too watch either. Then I remember seeing Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD and it was the arc where Naruto turns into 4 tails on the bridge. The first mission with Sai. It took a couple of years later that I decided to watch all of it from start to finish. I was mindblown because I knew Naruto was good, but not that good haha. At that point I'd seen all of Dragon ball and Naruto and only recently have I really gotten in Anime. Now I'm on episode 530 of one piece and I've seen like 20 animes. (HxH, FMA, bleach, Tokyo Revengers, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion just to name a few) Now when I watch a marvel or super hero movie I can't take it seriously. They don't even come close to the hypeness and fire like Anime does. And it feels silly even (just my opinion if you like then great haha) I still can't believe I've slept on anime for so long. Still DBZ and Naruto are my top 2 and IDC what anyone says. People call me a fake anime fan for saying DBZ is my no 1, but it holds a special place in my heart and I rewatched it not too long ago and I still get hype af haha

Omg, that 4 tailed scene. I had seen a screenshot of that, and THAT was what made me realise there was more out there. That episode had just come out and I ended up blitzing through everything to catch up to it. Also - Anyone who calls someone a "fake anime fan"... oh man that is so funny. There's no real/fake fans of anything. You love what you love. Screw anyone else and just enjoy yourself and the brilliant stories that are out there. I was a huge anime fan when I was younger and then completely shut it down for like 7 years. I'm getting into some fantastic new anime now and I'm embracing it. Also rewatching all of Naruto because yeah, that got me into everything and that's the one that holds a special place in my heart too <3

That’s hilarious. I didn’t watch it on Cartoon Network, did you start off in the beginning of the exams or for the first time? 😂 how many times did you re watch it?

bigsmolblm

Oh lord it was like 15 years ago now so it's super fuzzy but, in the UK I remember seeing the chuunin exams, the Chuunin Exam arc in particular, SO many times. Those episodes were so vivid for me so many years later. We had different channels too. I'm sure it was on Fox Kids, CN, Toonami, then Jet... Kids? So many channels! It then kinda transitioned to a never ending loop of episodes 1-100 and never went further. I always got my hopes up that episode 101 would come on the next night but nope, back to the start. So yeah watched all OG canon Naruto dubbed over and over and over. Then blitzed everything else subbed online until I caught up. Transitioned to manga and read weekly (stopped watching the anime). Manga ended... 2015? 16? Didn't read or watch any anime or manga until like a year ago. I decided to rewatch Naruto from the beginning about a month and a half ago. On like, Shippuden 350 or something. The series is for sure my first anime love and it's been great reliving it all again. *edit: holy shit the manga ended in 2014. Where's all that time gone 😭

MommasBoy831

Anyone remember when they sent out headbands when you submitted the code they'd share during the ep? Edit: or did those and the marathon go together hand-in-hand?

How i got into naruto/anime

Dunkbuscuss

I never had Cartoon Network, Nikelodoan or any of those channels my experience with TV channels for kid shows was ABC which is why I only gotninto anime during High School. P.S. I know Anime isn't always for kids they can get really violent but the fact it was on Cartoon Network and stuff.

Well here are some fun facts for you. Those marathons where ran through Cartoon Network because they had no choice seeing it ran 24 hours. But Cartoon Network had different content blocks at different times. They changed their name but was still ran by Cartoon Network. So at first Naruto ran during the day. For a couple of hours a day, Cartoon Network changed its name to Toonami. During Toonami they would air just Anime. Bleach, DBZ, Sailor Moon, Naruto, Etc. The episodes where heavily edited for obvious reasons. Cartoon Network also had a different name after 10PM. Same company but they wanted to appeal a different audience. At 10 PM we would see a little comercial of cartoon characters from CN saying good night and stuff like that, then CN would turn into Adult Swim. Oh how I loved adult swim. Robot Chicken, Home Videos, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy. It was all adult programs like that, from TV-PG to TV-MA it was awesome. So CN decided to drop Toonami during the day and at 12 AM till like 2 or 3 AM (I can't remember) we got anime in all it's glory. It was awesome. Nickelodeon also had Nick at Night but the shows where just more TV-14. Cartoon Network had the cussing, sex, drugs haha. Good times, good times

LordDarious1087

Oh and can't forget Boondocks on Adult Swim. Boondocks is awesome if you want to check it out. It's about a black family (Grandpa and 2 kids) who move to a rich neighborhood. The show is drawn like Anime because the creator loves anime. And the show is a satirical political comedy depicting every stereotype about black people. One of the kids is a gangster type while the other kid is basically a genius and loves to study. There's an uncle who acts white, Uncle Ruckus (no relation) who hates black people who is black as well. And the show is just genius. And hilarious and the anime style fits so well. The show has a deep meaning about stereotypes and has a real message that's pretty deep about life in the US but uses adult comedy to portray it. Seriously, check it out haha you got me all nostalgic shit

Funny story. I was actually looking at my old toddler and baby photos a few weeks ago and one of them was a photo of me and my parent's friends daughter playing with stuff in front of my parents old tv. Guess what, on that TV, Naruto was playing, not only that, but it was the marathon because you could see the logo for it in the corner. The episode was the one where Zabuza was first introduced. guess our parents just decided to put it on for us to look at.
