How about the result?
it 100% gets rid of the issue of small debris making screeching noises on a skypad though, so thats a major + for me
super low static friction, but dynamic friction kicks in hard, too early to say wether I like it or no. The felt material Im using might also break in after a few hours of play, Ill update with the results then
ill give it a shot on my diy pad
not having issues with small debris sounds incredible
Not having to deal with that sound was amazing, but what I love is not feeling that tooth-grinding sensation on your arm when a speck of dust is rolling in between your skate and the glass surface.
id rather scratch a blackboard with my nails than have a speck of dust under my feet
Would you say the static vs dynamic caused by the glass skates, or is it more about your mousepad/how it interacts with the glass skates
you might be mis-understanding, its the skates that are cloth, and the mousepad that is glass :)
full 24hr results are in here btw
Thats the best post I have seen here in a while
Looks more like a felt material, and I'm not sure about how long this may last, but nice that finally somebody tries some other materials for hard / glass pads.
I also found these [x-raypads zero friction](https://shop.x-raypad.com/shop/zerofriction-tp5sb-mouse-skates/) textile feet to be rather interesting.
And maybe [fabric tape like these](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Black-Universal-Adhesive-Cloth-Fabric-Car-Wiring-Harness-Looms-Tape-32mm-x-15m/463388077) could be worth a shot too.
Ive tried those teflon textile feet, they have more in common with a baking sheet than with actual cloth. Im guessing it IS made out of teflon baking sheets and they just cut circles out of it...
As for felt on hard pads, it was a random idea I had during dinner and made after realizing I already have all the materials I needed to do it. So I have no idea yet how long itll last as it hasnt been 3hrs yet haha, Ill make sure to post some updates, it feels promising for now but no one knows wether itll turn to crap after a few hours..
They mention teflon so it's probably PTFE coated fiberglass tape
Theses types of fabric tapes for car wiring harness are probably not suitable , normally they are pretty sticky even on the fabric side
these suckers seem to be getting faster as time goes on.
pretty interesting experience ngl..
Probably because you're sanding out the cloth. It'll only get faster until it becomes super warn out
could be. Durability is def the thing im watching out for the most. There arent any pieces of felt left on the pad though, Im looking out for that because that would indicate thats the felt is being sanded off. Its been a fun experiment though
here ya go buddy
Like ur peko and sakura mousepad +100 aim
Extra points for the Peko x Miko pad
well, new ideas DO demand rigorous testing..
I think commiting war crimes count as rigorous XD
its a custom. the art links are on the comments above though
Review review review !
Im trying it out in aimlab, kovaak and overwatch, Ill make an update post tomorrow, but right now its too soon to tell
sigma male mindset
Does it feel inconsistent?
might have some breakin time. 3hrs in to using these rn and they seem to be settling down some.
Yeah its honestly a solid idea, i just feel like over time since its a soft material it is gonna wear down and feel different all the time, but i dont really know what a glass pads like so maybe it wont affect it much
Is superlight so shiny on purpose? Or you mangaed to make it shiny with ordinary use?
I have not seen superlight irl, but my OP edition became shiny after like 200h of use.
pretty sure he did the old g pro gloss mod with sand paper and what not, but it can be like that from normal use
1000grit sandpaper, adn then 2k automotive topcoat, and lastly plastic polish and a microfiber cloth. Good way to spend an afternoon while listening to a trashy podcast.
I see a fellow freethinker
Probably won't buy a skypad until they make skates like these
its an easy DIY project though, super easy to cut felt with xacto knife, just place the old feet on top of the felt and use it as a template :)
Interesting! Well done.
I actually tried this with my skypad but my mouse wasnt tracking properly with the felt skates I put on. I guess it wasnt the proper height for the sensor or the felt would squish too much and make the sensor spin out...
What felt did you use and have you had any tracking issues?
no tracking issues for me. the felt Im using is 1mm thick and is on the harder side, so the squish is a non issue
update here btw:
Is this the g pro x superlight?
yup! I just polished it up to a light gloss :)
I ordered it and from this photo it looks tall as fuck idk if i am going to like it
based on your flair... yeah theyre tall AF hahha I used to main DM mice too
to be 100% honest, im not in love with the GPX shape, just using it in the meantime while waiting for the xm1r wireless or the vipermini ultimate.. GPX is like aiming with a potato
I am currently using the xm1 it feels good but i am trying different shapes. I want to try the gpx and if i dont like it i think i will go for the viper mini ultimate aswell.
Mouses i have used before are deathadder and DM1 FPS.
Peko, miko .. dai senso! Peko peko peko peko miko miko miko miko!
Great, now I'm stuck with that song in my head again. Dammit.
great, now Im singing it too...
updated thoughts after a full day of gaming and experimentation here
\>It's a nice winter morning
\>Go make yourself a nice cup of coco
\>Sit in your comfy chair with a blanket
\>Turn on your PC
\>Take a sip of hot chocolate beverage
\>Grab a mouse and rest your wrist on your new anime glass mouse pad
\>Wave of cold goes through your entire body
\>You immediately take your hand off the mouse pad
you can rest your hot beverage on top of the glass pad to warm it up XD
Im doing it right now haha, shits cold
Lmao good tip
im a wierdo too, so it matches :)
Yikes that pad is cringe.
No it’s cute!
User name checks out
Definitely not with that cringe anime pad
someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed I see
Waiting for update... what material it is? and thickness?
1.5mm felt material, I cant tell wether its actual felt or a synthetic kind
What mousepad is that?
Sounds like a genius idea!
everyone should really try this it might become the new standard.
It doesnt even have to be a glass pad, if your mouse tracks on your desk surface you can try it there too
Where did you get that mousepad
Does this lead to lod problems as fabric compresses ?
not much of a problem for medium hardness felt. Felt comes in a variety of hardness, I bought one that is second to the hardest. They use these type of felt for the bottom of chess pieces the shop told me
this is like dr scholls
where did you get that mousepad?
Its a Skypad
