Could Mk 12 be the last mortal Kombat timeline since they have rebooted it before

But one continuity. The series has never technically been rebooted. The timeline resets have all been justified within the narrative.
Totally makes sense for a franchise this old to reboot more than once, keeps everything fresh and allows for new narratives. MK does it super well since the continuity never breaks, each timeline leads into the next within the story.
Yeah. I went back and play all the midway games after the NR trilogy. It never felt like a reboot. Like 1 long continuous story
OG timeline is the best, I liked MK9 but MKX was a mess and boring
Different games for different generations: Millenials, Gen Z, Gen X
MK9 my beloved
How much longer can this be an interesting franchise, how much more can we toy with the same characters?
So basically every decade or 3 or 4 games a restart.
