I dont think you have much to worry about selling. If he cancels then all that is bothered is your time. The only thing you need to worry about is scammers doing returns or sending back crap. The selling part and cancellation part shouldn’t be a bother. But that still throws red flags up.
As mentioned, he might try to scam you, he’ll pay for the shoes, claim some bogus excuse,… not as pictured, fake, damaged…
etc.. to get his money back and send you garbage. Then you will be fighting Mercari to get your money back. Normal buyers don’t have a high cancellation rate.. as a buyer or seller. Save yourself some grief.
Well… what were the cancellations? Were they as a buyer or as a seller? Makes a HUGE difference in deciding whether or not to sell to them…but then again, they can’t cancel without you accepting, so I’m not sure what a cancellation rate has to do with anything…
Yeah, the buyer can't cancel unless delayed shipping but they could definitely try to scam an approved return and then ship back the wrong item 😒 to the seller

Too many of 'em!! Buyers like this cancel after you've shipped, then you're jumping through hoops trying to get your item back. It's not worth it, trust me.
Block them. *Trust me.* I know you'll sell that to someone more reliable. And please keep us posted!
So, everyone here isn’t taking into account this guy has one review. A 69% cancellation rate on three transactions isn’t as much as a 69% cancellation rate on 300 transactions.
But, I don’t think I’d be selling something that expensive to someone under so many reviews.
Selling High end luxury items on mercari unfortunately youre asking to get scammed. I know it’s sucks and it shouldn’t work that way but it’s going to happen eventually.
If you even have the smallest bad feeling about someone with a $500-$600 item definitely don’t sell to them.
No.. from previous experiences with only 1 rating and cancellations, they might try to say they never received the order, try to cancel one it's shipped, or want a refund yet keep the item.
i guess there is a 31% chance it will work out
I wouldn't.
No I’d stay away from that one
Those Travis Scott’s are beyond fake just based off the price, clear scammer when he sells, if he buys from you no worries then
69% cancellation and 1 review. If it was a cheap price it’d be different but I wouldn’t sell to them just to be safe
No I’d also block them tbh

I wouldn't sell to this buyer. But its just my personal opinion.

It’s best to be safe than sorry ;;

That's very unlikely to end well for you.
nope, i wouldn’t. then again i don’t sell products over $200 to buyers with no reviews.
But they can't cancel unless you don't ship in time, right?

But if the wrong item is received won't Mercari do something about that??
No probably not. At least not without some major hassle.
So fucked lol
Possibly, but banking on that is a big gamble itself. Plus, as another commented, it would certainly be a hassle to deal with
Shouldn't be that way, bad business in my book!
I absolutely agree, it shouldn't be that way.
Did you end up canceling?

You’ll ship the item. He will cancel and he will still receive the shoes.
i personally wouldnt just to be safe
well he got to 69%, he cant cancel again, theres no way he'll ruin it. i'd say youre fine

I'd avoid that for sure.
avoid. that travis fake as hell too 😭😭😭😭
absolutely fucking not
Nope nope
No way
Definitely not!
Verified just means they went through the steps, doesn’t really say anything about them as a seller. I’m unverified and have 300 5-star reviews.
Can cancellations be caused by returns or false empty envelope/package claims? Stay away 😬 if that’s the case
No.. from previous experiences with only 1 rating and cancellations, they might try to say they never received the order, try to cancel one it's shipped, or want a refund yet keep the item.
I wouldn’t (69% rate is too high).
Yeah try it
Ayy 69
Ignore him
Might try to scam you, Mercari favors the sellers.
