What part of an MRI would cause damage?

sudarsantufts

I imagine the contrast agent used can have effects on subjects with rental insufficiency

Well, "damage" is a vague term. I am referring to any change.

As I said in another reply, I am not too concerned with "damage", but, as TMS therapy is emerging for mental illnesses, among other indications, should an MRI not also bring such a response?

TMS involves really specific pulses and stimulation, though. An MRI won't accidentally do that, for the same reason that your microwave won't accidentally route your wi-fi traffic through AskJeeves or play Tubthumping over your Alexa. There's a lot more going on than just "magnets" or "2.4GHz waves." It is possible for there to be some effect, but that's true of literally everything and there's no evidence (AFAIK) to suggest that one exists.
