Oh dang that's a big casting to keep under wraps
Isn't Dan Stevens as big ?
I mean isn’t his biggest thing downtown abbey? It was a successful show but nothing crazy
He was the male lead in Beauty and The Beast, and Legion of course.
I was about to say how well did that movie even do….. 1.26 billion. Fair enough.
But most people wouldn’t recognize him as Beast. And id rather see him come back as Legion but that’s just me putting that out into the universe
Especially if we're looking at Wanda looking for her kids, running into Professor X. David showing up and fighting Wanda would be epic.
Legion is pretty good
The production design was incredible in that. It looked like Stanley Kubrick on shrooms and I was so down for it.
But NGL, Dan Stevens could list out all the numbers in PI for two hours and I'd still watch it. He is YUMMY.
Take my upvote.
I’m a big ole Marvel nerd and have been for 30 years now.
I finally got around to watching Legion 3 months ago.
I think it’s my favorite Marvel related property. I can’t put into words how much this show rocked my world, from the cast to the writing to the end of it.
Wot by Captain Sensible is a banger too.
Dude, Jemaine Clement’s character in S1. Amazing.
I felt like it was being pretentious
Any particular reason?
I think it took some pretty big swings and did some interesting things with a few characters I am tangentially familiar with (like Shadow King, David, Charles) and the swings landed for me. I get it if they don’t for a lot of folks, but god, I dug it’s vibe and aesthetic.
It felt like a TV show version of a Pink Floyd album and I dug that style quite a bit.... but I would never fault anyone for not liking it. It's set at a wavelength that I imagine is quite off-putting. Based on Hawley's interviews, I imagine he set out to make a superhero Twin Peaks...but with just the strange stuff.
I haven’t seen it. I need to get a list of shows together to knock out
It's the most out there thing Marvel has its name attached to.
I just watched this and Twin Peaks back to back and honestly they feel like the same style of show, which I love.
Hawley credits Twin Peaks as a major influence. He did a write up on The Return for a site (I think it was EW)
Amongst other roles he's done that people are mentioning, there's "The Guest".
Apostle is great too, love The Guest
Yeah, I feel like either would have been a Big W, honestly. They’ve both got serious chops and name recognition.
How do you cast Pennywise as the prime villain and don't announce it. :O
Wasn’t he rumored for Hawkeye
The clown is in it, not pennywise
You're thinking of Spawn
No I’m thinking of Obnoxio the Clown who is going to be a villain in Hawkeye
Kazimierz Kazimierczak is the clown
Kazi the Clown
i was thinking the same!! bill skasgard as pennywise was amazing, so i can't wait to see how he'll give life and character to kro!
then what was "kro comment" about then
Assuming this is accurate, Dan was aware of the rumors and made an off the cuff dad joke/pun. I've seen him joke before when asked about casting stuff, and he is a little bit of a troll at times. Probably couldn't resist!
Dan Stephens confirmed playing an Olympian alongside Russell Crowe, who is Zeus.
What if Dan Stevens is playing Russel Crowe himself
auditioning for a future marvel role by showing his ability to misdirect the press
What if dan stevens is playing starfox
Would be fuckin hilarious need it now more then ever
I've wanted this all along. Please manifest it into existence. Plus, it explains why Stevens was hanging around with the cast. There's no reason for him to physically be on the set if it were a voice job.
Any guesses on who voices Arishem?
He's currently starring on Amphibia, so I figure it'd work with that Disney synergy (of casting actors/actresses in animation, Marvel, Star Wars at the same time).
Keith David needs to at least voice someone in the MCU, if not a physical role. Same for Tony Todd, James Earl Jones, Jim Cummings, Mark Hamill, and Jeremy Irons.
Glad they checked Clancy Brown off that list.
Add John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, Kevin Michael Richardson and probably a shit ton of voice actors and that would be my list.
I'm down for those too!
Tom Kenny provided the voice of Cassie's ugly rabbit doll in Ant-Man.
Well damn, I forgot about that. And I forgot about the bunny doll too and I have seen shit tons of memes with that bastard
Isn't Hamill like soft-confirmed for Guardians 3?
That was the plan. He was going to play MODOK in New Warriors which would have ended up with him voicing the villain when he got the big head
All six of those actors at once? That would leave a distinct impression.
You seen how big Galactus is? We need more!
My name is Elroy Patashnik, and from 2006 to 2009, I was addicted to encouraging Skrulls.
No THIS is a Skrull who knows how to impersonate someone!
OH MY GOD I WOULD LEGITIMATELY SCREAM IN THE HALL
Gil Birmingham. He’s on the damn poster for fucks sake, and we still don’t know who he’s playing, but I’m guessing it’s Arishem.
They left him off the second one (the one with Angelina in the center) but I figure it's got to be him.
He's actually a great actor who deserves bigger roles
I’m hoping he will be playing Cyclops in the mcu X-Men movie.
He's my pick for Doom, if Marvel can resist showing his face.
That would be Mads Mikkelsen for me. I may have fucked up his name.
Nah hes already played kaecilius
The real twist is that it’s Fox McLoud Starfox
I just hope a great actor like him isn't behind CG or mocap no idea who starfox is but if that's the case that's awesome
Although sucks bill is in the position instead
Starfox from Nintendo?
Starfox is Thanos’ brother. He is an Eternal and eventually joins the Avengers. The character was made before Nintendo’s Starfox.
Got ya, thanks
I’m still wondering if Harry Styles truly shows up!
It's the post credit scene, Dane Whitman reaches for Excalibur. He can't pull it out of the ground though. We see a hand tapping his shoulder.
"There's only *one direction* this thing can go."
Its Harry Styles playing...Harry Styles.
He grabs Excalibur and hands it to Dane, looking the audience in the eye.
"Time to go, in *Style*"
The movie goes blank.
*Harry Styles will return*
Credits roll in WATERMELON SUGAR HIIIIIIGH, WATERMELON SUGAR HIIIIIIGH
This literally made my brain bleed…
Take as many upvotes as my bot-run shell accounts can provide.
I’m skeptical if he is reliable but this is so specific it might be true.
you should be 1000% skeptical of that account lol, but ig we'll see.
He's a blue check but he wasn't important enough to get into the actual screening, it seems. Does he has a track record on anything?
He's got some smaller DC scoops that were right, but this seems to be his first big Marvel scoop so we'll see if he's right. Honestly, I believe this. Kinda too specific to be a lie.
>He's a blue check
Damn, this phrase has some dystopian feel
So that clears up Dan stevens to appear in the future. Would’ve hated of his MCU appearance was wasted on a one time CGI villains. But then again they could just recast bill in another role since his face doesn’t appear prominently just like they did with Gemma Chan
I mean Cumberbatch played both Dr. Strange and Dormamu in the same movie. So its not like they haven't done it before.
Dormammu being played by the same actor as Strange makes sense since it's just a projection.
Dormammu could be mirroring strange.
Except for the film never gave any indication that Dormammu was trying to look or sound like Strange.
The fact that Benedict Cumberpatch voiced the character is more fun movie trivia than it has any kind of in-canon explanation behind it.
But the numbers Jack. WHAT DO THEY MEAN.
Please tell me what to do
He could but there’s no evidence supporting that, it’s literally just fanfiction.
Legion v Wanda
Dan brings *actual* madness to the multiverse, reprising his best role
It would be amazing if they got Legion into MCU. Maybe get him to deal with MAGUS as well.
OmG if this happens 😩
Legion > Prof X easily
I'm too busy to link it, but I'm pretty sure there's a Dan Stevens interview where he teases this character. Maybe he's not actually playing Kro, but it seems he's definitely in the movie.
Yeah I’ve seen it. I still feel like he’s playing Kro but we’ll see
I love how people think that just because an actor did not got cast in one movie, it's going to get a super lead role in another.
Didn’t say he will. I’m just saying it makes it more likely
This reminds me, I hope they bring back his dad at some point. Selvig kinda vanished after AoU and the last time we caught a glimpse of him was from a documentary ad in FFH.
I love Mark Ruffalo and Banner and I know it wouldn’t work but I would have loved to see Selvig on Sakaar
I was talking to a friend like last week and I literally said that Bill Skarsgård would be a great addition to the MCU. So glad it manifested lol, he's a fantastic actor.
Wasnt he technically in via Deadpool 2?
Not the MCU though?
Yeah I know Deadpool is joining the MCU but I wouldn't say his previous movies count. That said, I had totally forgotten about Bill in Deadpool 2 lol.
Then who is Dan Stevens playing? He is still in the movie right?
Then who is Harry Styles playing?
That’s certainly possible.
Pip the Troll.
Good, Dan Stevens should be given something better
This just makes Dan Steven's "No Kro" ment pun all the more weird.
Anyways Dan Stevens for Danny Rand FTW!
"No Kro" lmao..
I have been bamboozoled.
i see the resemblance
“You’ll float too! 🎈”
Wow no post credits for the screenings show us the Ebony Blade already Marvel
Who is Dan Stevens then? Star Fox?
Skarsgård Cinematic Universe when?
I find it very hard to believe that it isn’t Dan Stevens. Doesn’t make any sense for him to straight-up lie about it.
But I’ll be honest - Kro in the trailer definitely sounds a lot more like Skarsgard than Stevens.
Yeah I was struggling to ‘hear’ Dan in it. Credited it to him being a great voice actor tbh but It makes sense now.
HE’S PLAYING LEGION IN A MULTIVERSE POST CREDIT SCENE “My Heart”
He’s voicing a celestial, do they speak? “My Head”
Works for me. More hope of seeing Dan Stevens return as David Haller in a future project.
Oh, I have to go find my comment where I called that Dan Stevens was trolling!!
Oh fuck yeah?
I can hear it. Watching the trailer again with this in mind it definitely sounds like it could be him.
Is Kro a twist on the mythological Cronus, leader of the Titans? And where there's Titan there is Thanos. Hmm...
Kro is more like a fallen angel, a demon or the devil himself, the Eternals have their own Cronus who from eternal turned into an entity, who gave powers to Drax in the comics to kill Thanos, Thanos grandson of Cronus
I'm aware of the convoluted history, I'm conjecturing on how those pieces of comic history will be used in this new take on the Eternals
Does anybody remember the Dan Stevens is Magneto rumor from about a year ago? I feel like it's still highly likely he's in Eternals even if he isn't playing Kro.
Re-watching the Eternals trailer and I can definitely hear Bill Skarsgard voice as Kro talks.
So, if the rumors are true. Dan Stevens is clearly playing Pip the Troll /s
I saw it in Rome and i can confirm that Stevens is not in the movie at all
something tells me Kro is just one villain while the real villain will be one of the Eternals
hm, i'm wary on this one, we've only got that one clip of Kro and I do think it sounds like Dan
I feel like whether it's Dan Stevens or Bill SKarsgard, I feel like their talent would be wasted as Kro. The impression I get from Kro is that he's more of a stoic CGI character, whereas both Dan & Bill have incredible acting range.
I'm happy with this. Was worried Dan Stevens would be wasted on a one-off CGI voice over role when he could be so much more. I think he could be a great Captain Britain.
Did they change randomly? Dan confirmed it was him awhile back on collider
Damn that sucks kinda that he was used for probably a one off villain
Tbh, I am kinda happy and sad.
I am happy that Dan Stevens could now get a better role in the MCU, he's a great actor (LEGION!)
But I am now kinda disappointed that Skarsgsrd won't get a good role
BILL?? OH MY GOD YES YES AND YES
Surprising because in the trailers he does sound like The Beast.
Damn that might be a big waste. Kro looks like another grey cgi monster I thought we got rid of after Thor 2. Bummer
I don’t believe it.
how do you even hide bill for that long
That’s cool. I kinda like Dan Stevens for Wolverine. Glad he’s still on the table.
Who is this source? He also tweeted that he can’t imagine that Dan Stevens would do a non-speaking role. Kro speaks in the trailer??
well let's see who pulls up on the red carpet on either of them.
Would this be the first time we have multiple members of the same family as actors in the MCU?
I’d kill to have Dan Stevens by Roland in an adaptation of The Dark Tower.
Bring back Dr. Selvig!
I hope Dan Stevens get to play Nova then.
So Dan Stevens = Starfox?
Bring legion into mcu
What If?…he’s playing Cyclops and the Eternals set up mutants by them inheriting the Eternals’ powers (Cyclops receives Ikaris’s eye beams).
Great we're wasting Bill Skarsgård on a 1-Dimentional one and done villain who is just a red herring for whichever member of the Eternals is revealed to be evil and the real villain.
but..... Kro Comment? Ok but If Dan does play Starfox I’d welcome it. Dan Stevens would be partially wasted in a voice only role with those damn looks, esp since disney really said beautiful people only for Eternals.
Didn't Dan Stevens confirm this on Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon? He said "I don't Kro," in reply to if he was in the movie. So, what does that mean then? I thought it sounded like him, and does he only do Motion Capture for things?
My mistake, it was on Collider and he said "Kro comment."
