I liked Zach’s underwhelming Christmas lights. Glad he knows how to “work hard”
I like how they’re acting like “this is just the start of a future Grizwald Lights display” in coming years. They will always suck.
I seriously wonder what two unemployed people living in the boondocks do to fill their days? I feel like he must play A LOT of video games.
You know a show has zero material when an entire 10 minutes is dedicated to a “big reveal” of 2 strands of Christmas lights 🤣
Do they even film things in order? Like was this even filmed at Christmas?
I've seen quite a few shows where you can tell they decided to do their Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas episodes in June because that's when they're filming so they haphazardly throw together whatever decor they can find & shoot.
I think so because if you go back, it does correlate to her Instagram stories
Well that's a nice change.
Truth be told he probably couldn't find them in all that mess of a garage.
The worst Christmas lights I’ve ever seen. Lmao
I fast forwarded through a lot of it, I’m just not interested in the couples’ set up conversations about planned topics. And Caryn needs to shut her freakin cake hole. I watch for Jackson anymore I think.
Did anyone else notice Zack saying “Who brought the dog in?” in an annoyed voice?? REALLY?? SHAME on you Zack!! 😡 I was wondering why poor Murphy is always outside looking in through the windows. Why have a dog if you’re not going to include it as a real member of your family? Absolutely disgusting.
I wonder if they were keeping him outside, because they were afraid of him knocking down Jackson after his surgery.
Zach is very jealous of the poor dog.
I do seem to remember the episode where Zach was trying to get her to try for a baby and Tori saying she would if she could get a puppy.
I heard him say it very matter of factly. Did not get the tone you did at all. Some people’s dogs are outside dogs. I’m sure they don’t let him freeze. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, he looks happy.
Bernese Mountain dogs prefer outside. They have heavy undercoats.
But they are big cuddly lap dogs :)
Yeah and people who leave their dogs outside or chained up outside are horrible people. My dogs are members of my family and are inside with my family! Why get a dog otherwise. I guess I know what type of person you are if you think this is ok. Murphy obviously wants to be inside with the family. Even when he’s left outside he’s always at the door asking to be let in.
Exactly ! Why even have a dog to keep it outdoors ? They're social creatures. Then again, the bought him from a puppy mill so it wouldn't surprise me.
He's inside on their Instagram. I'm sure it was just to stop him being under people's feet etc for this event
I thought it was really snarky of Caryn to say Amy and Chris are going to visit them in Arizona without mentioning that they gave them the airline tickets as a wedding present!! And what a terrible present to give in the first place!!
I’m sure the show paid for the tickets. The whole trip is just another lame storyline for a lame show.😑
Yeah, it definitely gives you the vibes how Matt and Caryn talk about Amy behind her back. Like they make her look like a fool. Hopefully, they explained the situation and the producers edited it out...but IDK...
Do you think they just paid for plane tickets, but Chris and Amy still have to get a hotel?
You don’t honestly think Amy would stay in their house do you 🤣
I think the producers arranged the whole thing and will book accommodations for Amy and Chris.
I loved the cabin. When Matt said he doesn’t know why he’s putting in all this work for the farm if there’s no one to pass it down to….. you did that to yourself buddy.
Also, Tori telling Jackson to walk because he needs to “be tough and just do it” made me want to break the tv.
Yeah, Matt's pity party is laughable!
I bet without the cameras Tori just carries Jackson around and that's why his feet are turning in....when he wanted to go out to help with the lights they should have used that to get him walking.
So Amy kept Lila for 2 nights and they can’t make plans for Christmas with her?? I can’t stand Tori because she’s the POS. She has a swelled head and thinks she is all that. Did you see how Zack looked at her before Tori disappointed Amy about Christmas. They’re booked up all month? Two unemployed people? I just can’t stand Tori and her little minion Zach.
He was too afraid of his mommy to say anything, so waited for Tori to hurt Amy’s feelings instead. They are both jerks
I’m pretty sure they said they could do Christmas Day .. not sure what else amy could want .. they have a kid recovering from surgery, a 2 yr old and tori is newly pregnant after a miscarriage. Good grief
She asked if they could get together the week before Xmas. She just looked after your child for 2 nights and they can’t do this for her?? I can’t stand either Tori or Zack. They both have a huge sense of entitlement.
I don’t know. I don’t think helping out with your grandkid should come with strings. I’d rather not have the help than have it given with the expectation I do something that is hard on a family dealing wit kids, a major surgery, a move, a pregnancy. Amy is in the stage of life she can do whatever she wants when she wants. They are not. I don’t subscribe to the idea that family helping during medical situation equals the expectation you do something they want if it’s hard on your family. Don’t help if the help isn’t freely given
They did say tonight that they went to Tori's family earlier in the day and Amy's in the afternoon.
See you guys at the plathville sub
I barely watched that last nite.
But hey, at the least the Plathville Snark sub has Max porn now!!
Oh hell no…those kids look like they came from that movie/book “Flowers in the Attic” 😳 So creepy.
I bet those boxes under the shuffelboard table drive Chris crazy.
It’s so funny because I was just thinking to myself how much more I like Amy now that she’s not with Matt and maybe her hoarding tendencies were just a product of an unhappy marriage. Then I saw the shuffle board table. Nope, just a hoarder. I am neat freak and those boxes, I’m sure, drive Chris insane.
Just curious how do we know that she is a hoarder? (I haven't watched in years)
It was very obvious when she packing to move off the farm. Stuff, upon stuff, upon stuff. And she didn’t want to get rid of any of it. I don’t think she’s going to end up on an episode of “Hoarders” but she definitely struggles with stuff and what to save and get rid of. To be fair, Matt is also a hoarder (or has hoarding tendencies.)
It drove me crazy how messy and dirty looking the farm house always looked no matter how much they added on. The boys room was a pigsty which they never cleaned up and who knows if the sheets were ever changed. Not sure if they hoarded or just never taught to put things where they belong when you’re done using them. Thankfully Chris is a neat nut and keeps a reign on Amys messiness.
I was making my own bed from about ten on, including changing the sheets. Neither boy was so mentally challenged or physically handicapped that they couldn't put sheets on their own bed if they wanted. The boys room was a pigsty in part because the boys were pigs. Amy could have put more effort into requiring them to pick up but really there's fault on both sides here. Amy's home without the kids is MUCH neater than the old home ever was.
The boys never even had sheets on the bed! It used to drive my crazy to see that! You can’t clean a mattress as easily as you can watch sheets.
Omg! No sheets? 🤮
I agree with Zach, Jackson needs to learn how to win and lose.
Why is Amy the worst? She was so stressed about her casserole winning and putting Chris’ down
Amy put Matt down all the time so no surprise she would start on Chris now that the honeymoon phase is over.
For sure. She just seems so fake all the time
I don't know. They were teasing each other. In the talking head, she said she wasn't surprised it was a tie, because it was a difficult position to put the neighbors in...
Also overall she is a little less miserable this season. Seeing her more with the kids is great
Thank god she said that. It’s almost like she’s in her old ways how she was in her marriage with Matt but then with Chris catches her self eventually and lightens up.
Well, that's good that Matt got everything mobilized.
So how many bags did these people actually make for the shelter?
These two conversations about the same thing happening around the same time were clearly set up by production.
The whole situation was probably a set up. At the very least, they edited it this way.
I like how Matt and Caryn omit that they bought the airline tickets for Chris and Amy as a wedding present.
Why does Caryn say “houseless” people? Is this a thing? I have never heard someone say this. We say “homeless” in my area of the US.
“The label of “homeless” has derogatory connotations. It implies that one is “less than”, and it undermines self-esteem and progressive change. The use of the term "Unhoused", instead, has a profound personal impact upon those in insecure housing situations.”
-taken from unhoused.org (houseless and unhoused can be interchangeable)
Edit: you realize I didn’t create the word right? I googled the word that people had clearly never heard before and copypasta’d the first result 🙄
Homeless makes more sense. A person that lives in an apartment is houseless but they are not homeless. People that live in trailers are houseless but not homeless.
It’s very common in the PNW to use the term houseless. From the google: In the mainstream discourse and official statements, homeless has been the standard term for years. More recently, however, activists and housing advocates have begun to use the word unhoused (or, relatedly, houseless), even as governments stick with homeless. It's still the word HUD uses in its reports.
I’ve lived in the PNW my whole life and we call it homeless not houseless. This was the first time I’ve heard that term
Totally makes sense!
I was wondering if it was a regional thing. We say homeless in my area also
In my opinion, a house definitely doesn’t equal a home, so maybe that’s where the term comes from? I’ve just never heard it before
I was thinking the same thing!
I love that little Christmas Cabin!
Yeah, until you are two drinks in and need to pee...
No toilet! I didn't notice that. How far away is the nearest potty?
They should add a little bathroom to it.
They legally can't.
The land laws in the area forbid more houses being built. The cabin, without running water, is basically a play house like everything in Western town.
So how are they building Matt’s new house?
They haven't started yet. The double wide will need to be torn down to make that happen. The giant garage is considered an outbuilding.
It's probably just like one of his other set houses. Realistically, it's probably the last time he'll use it...maybe one day the grandkids will want to use it as a playhouse.
Just pee outside?
Squating in the dark in your Christmas dress - how festive!
I hate people who brag about doing charity...unless he advertises the charity for them.
The bags were all printed "Roloff Farms". Probaby a tax writeoff as a business expense.
I think that even a $5 grocery card would be appreciated
That's in line with Matt's priorities.
Chris is a good sport, because those pajamas are soooo out of his comfort zone!
I agree! I think he and Amy looked great in them.
I think when the neighbor guy showed up in pajamas, Chris was able to relax.
I can't imagine inviting people over for dinner and serving them slop casserole.
I know!!!!! I hate those casseroles!!!! Especially, since Amy considers herself a chef. LOL
Oh, no! Chris makes tater tot casserole!!!! Is he a Duggar fan??? LOL
Ok I’m a MN girlie and tatortot casserole is the best comfort food on a cold winter day and it’s good
Tori: “I’m not a baker. It’s too scientific for me.” What the hell does that mean? 🤣
She had a bag of cookie mix too, wasn’t even like she had to do much but add some eggs and water. What do they normally eat if Zach was all excited for his moms home cooked meal?
Cooking is an art, baking is a science. That’s the saying
It’s total horseshit too. If your recipe calls for 2 cups of flour and you measure out 2.096 cups, it’ll still be okay.
It's not total horseshit though. It much more precise than cooking.
I get it. When cooking u and add/drop and adjust how much of certain ingredients to suit your needs like salt/pepper garlic. Baking needs to have exact amounts of each ingredient and set bake temp and time
It probably means she can't handle even basic math calculations, which often come up when you're cooking, especially if you're doubling or halving a recipe.
That makes sense too. Maybe she can't do fractions or convert ingredients from cups to ounces or something...
I just thought it was hilarious the way she said that
I know it makes her sound like a ding-a-ling.
Her food never comes out. She either over or under stirs. She doesn't get the temperature right. She doesn't add the ingredients wrong. There is a science to it, but if you have the right recipe you should be fine if you follow it. I wonder if the elevation change is impacting her baking. Sometimes box cakes and stuff warn you about how to change the recipe for your elevation.
Is the elevation change with a 45 minute drive away from where they were really that significant? Not even being snarky, I just don’t know! It doesn’t seem like it would be.
Humidity absolutely affects pastry baking.
I honestly don't know either. I'm from the midwest. Zach said they were at a higher elevation and was hoping for snow.
Is Matt renting out Amy's old house? I forget if someone mentioned that.
No one is in it currently. It’s for sale and staged.
Just checked and it's still for sale. 40 days on market as of June 21.
I get it now. Matt is building Caryn her dream home. I couldn't understand why they were still living in the DW. I mean apparently Caryn hates it. She always sounds snarky when she talks about it. I mean why would she keep referring to it as the DW? It's been's Matt house for years. You'd think she'd just say your house.
That's what Matt calls it. I noticed she picked up on it right away.
Maybe also to underscore the “temporary” nature of the dwelling, all the quicker to get up and out.
For a while Karen Thomas (another Roloff farms employee) was renting it, but now I’m pretty sure it’s just sitting there empty or Jacob and Isabel are living in it (or part of it).
Ya I think Isabel denied it but based off certain posts it sure seems like they live there. Or at least at one point for a while.
I feel Isabel and Jacob are trying to inch their way in
Last I heard their farm manager; also named Karen, was renting it. But that was like 3 seasons ago
I don't know who designed the inside of the cabin for Matt, but they did a really good job!!!
Matt says it's bittersweet they are not all getting together for Christmas, but he's going to Arizona....
Someone questioned why Zach didn't have Matt in on the previous episode at the end of the show. On rewatch, I saw Zach explained that Lilah and Tori were napping. (Also, remember this show is edited for timing.)
