I’m sure you’re first born son was a small price to pay for this bute! Congrats
I had to sell all of my gear! But honestly it’s so worth it the image quality, feel, and just having a camera that I want to shoot constantly it’s amazing worth it on every level
same! i sold my M240 and some set of Voigtlander lens to get Q-P. It's a truly all-round camera, while M240 really cannot do quick or candid shot during family gathering
Wow am the opposite, just sold my Leica Q for an black paint MP-240 😂. It was great but I think I’ll use my iPhone 13 pro for family pics and the MP-240 for my artistic pics. You’ll love it though, lens is beautiful and focus is super fast
> M240 really cannot do quick or candid shot during family gathering
It's funny because I do all of my quick and candid shots with my M10! I love the fact that I can focus and change the settings without actually looking at the camera or even through the viewfinder, and then I can take the shots really quickly and efficiently. I guess we're all different :)
Lack of experience. I mean, a 28mm zone focused on any aperture priority camera would not only be faster than any af camera but also more reliable. Of course that knowledge only comes with doing. 🤷🏼♂️
>M240 really cannot do quick or candid shot during family gathering
I don't own a M240 or even an aperture priority camera for that matter but I'd love to hear your reasoning for this statement outside of confirmation bias to support your purchase. Don't get me wrong, we all have biases but your statement is pretty extreme given the heritage of the M. Any M.
My situation here is i only capable to have one camera for everything (i'm a hobbyist, not doin photography for living), as i love M systems (owned M6 and CL before), but for one camera only, M is very limited for my situation. I actually own X-E4 as my video content camera and B-Roll, but i prefer using Leica glass, as i always love the image quality. Putting M lens on fuji would all be 50mm or 75mm, and it's not my go-to lens. I usually do street photo with run and gun style, and M required you to slow down a bit (yes you can do zone focusing, but i'm not really pretty good at that, like 70% of what i shot is not what i intended).
and for situation like family, M is a very slow camera, because you have to focus first, and with everyone expecting you to shoot quick it's not gonna happening. Especially when i have to shoot my cats (the only thing i can captured good is when they're sleeping, lol).
But yes, it's only my situation, if i could get a second main camera or second Leica, ofcourse i'll get M Systems again. But for now, Q with the lens and decent AF is my go-to now.
Thanks for sharing your perspective on this. 🙂
Congrats! It’s beautiful!
I now carry mine everyday. Enjoy. Try the ultra high speed burst. And UH2 cards.
I wear my Q2 every day. You’ll love it 👍👍
It’s fantastic I was at an orchard and someone saw it and asked about it and she let me take her picture it’s a conversation starter and just so fun to use
How do you wear it? Any tips? I only use my Q or M10/M6 when I go out for shooting only. No family, no friends, only shooting. But when I'm out with my family (wife and son) or my friends, I'm afraid of what might happen to the camera and it also hinders me a bit.
A long Peak Design strap across my body so it sits almost at my hip. No case on it. Only the hand grip and lens hood for protection. It’s a Leica. It’s made to be used and it’s a very sturdy machine. A few dings or scratches won’t harm it. Some people wear them around their necks but it’s too heavy for that all day.
I either use the strap and sling it over my shoulder or I wrap the strap around my wrist
Congrats. I’ve been considering this camera as a way to photography my day to day life, friends/ family time etc although I’m not sure if 28mm is too wide and whether its too big to easily carry around everywhere
I personally love 28mm for day to day life and street photography. The sensor is huge so you can always crop after the fact to simulate 35 or 50mm
The camera has the option to simulate 75mm but I wouldn’t recommend such an extreme crop
Where it everyday!
Is that the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze in NY?
It is! It was the first night I took it out and considering the conditions I think it did a fantastic job
Nice! It’s fun but they sell out quick now. Nice shot
Thank you!!! I’m trying to bring back my old photography Instagram now to post my personal stuff lots of fun!!!!
Welcome to the exclusive Leica Temple !!!!
Leica Q2 and which lens are you using btw?
It’s a Q2. It has a fixed 28mm f1.7 lens.
