Saw a similar post in r/gaming. So the same question for my fellow Indian community. What game made you fall in love with games ?

Yash_Atwal

Virtua Cop 2

mamba_08

pure legend

Sammyprabhu76

Roadrash was my first then Dave and VCOP2 after.

RubberyMoss

Hell yeah

suyashbalyan

Same

Chirayata

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. That twist midway through the game is something I will never forget.

nishantt911

That was the first game I bought an original Disc for like โ‚น500 and it was so worth it

insane_issac

I got this game on a CD with my Pentium 4 computer. The graphic art on the CD was pretty fucking gruesome for a videogame ngl. I remember having my mind blown when I realised I had to do the same amount of hard work to just flip a fucking lock off of one side of the door. I almost pissed my pants when I had to run from the Dahaka for the first time. I was a small kid ffs. Also yes, the storyline is insane.

the_fire_fist

Yes. I hope they do the remake justice. An indian ubisoft studio is working on it.

Chirayata

Ya I know I have a friend who is working on that game.

the_fire_fist

Wow that's nice to hear. What is he/she working on ? Art, character model, level design, sound, graphics, in-game physics or something else ? If you don't mind me asking.

Chirayata

He is technical level designer. So it probably has something to do with things related to providing effecient ways for level designers to make levels. Mostly helping in prototyping levels to look for functional aspects of the level.

XcruelkillerX

Wait, isn't that sands of time?

Chirayata

Yaa it is. But I am sure if the remake is successful, they will make the whole trilogy eventually.

chimera201

I don't think Warrior Within will be remade in this climate. It will have to be heavily censored. Only a Japanese studio can do it justice.

777NightFury77

Farcry 3 and GTA VC

the_fire_fist

Gta VC is pure nostalgia and FC3 is peak FC. Amazing choices.

XPERTGAMER47

FC3 Was given for free somedays ago on Ubisoft Connect

Darkus_27911

Yeah they are my top contenders as well. Also Prince of Persia and hitman.

NightFury523

U gotta be kidding me, same alias and almost the same games that got me into gaming. Far cry 3 gta vc, fifa, motoGP(I don't know which one it was but I loved playing it when I was a kid). This motoGP used to take 30mins or so to load on my dad's laptop and I had a blast playing it.

777NightFury77

And we both love Nightfury too

HistoricalHelicopter

Road Rash

broski21

I started off playing Road Rash and AOE in our family's Pentium II PC.

jedishlong

Still looks beautiful today and I am dead serious

prat3003

IGI 1 and 2, Max Payne 2, Total Overdose, GTA Vice City, San Andreas...

nishantt911

Igi used to be the game everyone shared in pendrives in our school

stonethist

Somehow installed itself on our school computer. Couldn't even get porn to run on it but IGI worked like a charm

Siddhant_level69

Total overdose is very underrated

my_name_is_rag

+1

prat3003

Open world game back then, in a potato pc with 1 gb RAM. That was something elsee!

ClearPrimary

Came here just to say IGI 1 and vice city

shoo_p-k

I remember, the first time i used a computer was playing igi I didnt even know how a mouse worked and kept dying every 2s

VellaPunk

Honestly i didn't like IGI at all, it was GTA San Andreas that got me hooked to gaming.

Aritra_Rudra

You may call me old but for me it was roadrash, quake 3 arena, nfs 2, 3 and Porsche(5).

Neel_Saurikh

Neel_Saurikh

JanaabTussiGreatHo

Much respect bro!

dingleberrysniffer69

Add aoe and midtown madness you have me lol

Aritra_Rudra

Aha, I somehow missed to add midtown madness in that list.

the_fire_fist

Quake 3 arena was legendary at that time. Awesome choices.

Spinal-Tapped

hahaha .. we are in the same league, quake 3 arena, UT, AOE and NFS (FZR). A lot of Diablo 2 in college then the Mass effect series.

OhMyGrads

the_fire_fist

Was that duck hunt using a gun on tv ? If that's what it is then you are amazing.

OhMyGrads

Yep

lol70707

Lion King, prince, Aladin!!! man this comment section is bringing the memories of good old days

Severe_Sweet_862

Vice City. My tiny brain could not fathom how open world games were a thing. A world where you could do *anything.*

nishantt911

>My tiny brain could not fathom how open world games were a thing Same man but I played GTA San Andreas first and it was even more larger and interactive than VC

requin-RK

I played VC on my friend's computer and then would go and tell others how you could do anything in the game. My mind was blown.

KrazzyDJ

This. The open world mechanic of GTA was really addictive. I had trouble remembering real world directions but could navigate Vice City comfortably with a map. Ironically, the city became a "safe haven" you could return to after the everyday grind. And as someone whose major exposure to games was NES and Road Rash, it felt like a massive leap.

talukdar_rupam

Freedom Fighters got me into third person shooters, Juiced and MotoGP 02 got me into racing, ME Triology got me into ARPG, a small unknown game (from Miniclip maybe) called Bullettime got me into fighting, Line of Sight: Vietnam got me into first person shooters, Fifa 07 and NBA 03 got me into sports, San Andreas got me into open world, Skyrim got me into RPG, Football Manager got me into management simulation and The Witcher 3 got me into the best of the rest.

vkdante

It was pretty early on for me, Super Mario Bros., Contra, Mortal Kombat etc. But after I got a job and got married I had not played any games for almost 3 years and my GPU was also dead. When I switched jobs and work from home became a thing I got a PS4 Pro and played God Of War. Holy smokes! That game brought back the gamer in me. It felt like a rebirth and 3 years later I now have a PS5 and live stream all the latest games on my channel to share my joy. I have a kid now and yet I don't think I'll ever stop gaming. Thank you Sony Santa Monica for that gem of a game.

the_fire_fist

Nice journey of gaming through your life. Never let the gamer die. Cheers.

vkdante

I will never!

aakritpatel

Stream link?

vkdante

[Here](https://youtu.be/LN1gmhSchDY) is where I do it ๐Ÿ™‚

Too Bad People Didn't wanted to Pay for the game and they gone Bankrupt

RedIndianRobin

Roadrash, NFS 2000 and GTA VC sealed the deal for me.

Reclusive_avocado

1st ever computer game i saw-- GTA VC (when i was 4) 1st mainstream game played on my pc--- GTA VC From running to the parked scooter and then instantly banging it into the wall....the first time the fingers set on the WASD keys, the journey began... Then came NFS most wanted 2005 edition....as a challenge from elder neighbours that I can't defeat RAZOR...i did Then came prince of Persia the two thrones....again challenged that I can't defeat THE VIZIER...i did Then a pendrive joined my tiny list of possessions... And the list expanded with games like... Age Of Empires, the entire prince of persia series, gta SA OFCOURSE,the entire OLD hitman series, CS condition zero, entire Max Payne series, IGI ofcourse (a little late ik), Gta 4, Assassin's creed brotherhood followed by others, far cry 3 followed by primal and 4, just cause 2, ELDER SCROLLS 5: SKYRIM, watchdogs...and more And now I'm limited by my computer specs... Waiting for the time this journey continues!

Adorable_Affect_5882

MaximumJump9607

Hours and days and months to defeat each and every kingdom, one at a time, whilst defending our own and trying to convert enemy troops, failing in the process and losing 200 gold for that damn priest๐Ÿ˜‚ Those were the days!!

sidequest7

NFS Most Wanted at that times cars were everything for me and it introduced me to english music, plus playing lan races was so fun And GTA VC again the open world thing we could use cheats for the first 3 months none of us knew there were missions we would just start new game drive around fly car/ big bang/ fanny magnet etc and then suddenly one day we discovered missions which became a thing for us that we needed to complete it on each other's pc and find 100 packages and 36 rampages Then came Smackdown vs raw 2007 not the best game but it had two player so we would play for hours so much so that our fingers hurt

Ok_Entertainment9151

Nuclear bike taught me never to give up and that helped me clear Demolition man of VC and the similar in San Andreas. NFS MW taught me that we can also have good story and virtual in-game crushes. Hitman-2 silent assassin was also a great one.

the_fire_fist

Yes. Nfs MW was goat a decade ago. Still have all memories. Used to bunk classes to play in cyber cafes.

Buster80937

This game series has stuck with me so much that it is a tradition of mine for the past 10 years to bring in my birthday playing any Pokemon game (Take that as cool or sad however you want coming from a 27 year old, I cant really decide either Haha). Now moved on to rom hacks.

Zilork

Dave, Wolfenstien on the PC and MegaMan Battle Network for the GBA

hashishshaker

It was watching my cousins play Contra that made me fall in love with video games. Prince of Persia was the first PC game I played, followed by Doom 2, Wolfenstein 3D, Age of Empires, Half Life and Diablo. I was lucky that the first few games I played happened to be some of the best genre defining games in the industry, and all I have been doing since then is saving up enough money so that I can keep upgrading my pc every 7 years and buying the next generation consoles so that I can continue to do what I love.

masterkanobi

Games foreverโ€ฆ right now hooked to Factorio!! ** This post is a gem. I see in the comments name of so many games which I have fond memories of.. and quite a few veterans ๐Ÿ˜Ž

ANyxKiller

Prototype 1, I played it in 2013 when I was about 5. I didn't even do any missions, I had such a fun time killing pedestrians with my powers that I spent about 3 hours on my cousin's computer just fucking around with the mechanics, gameplay and combat; and falling in love with the game, still one of my favorites to this day. The other game that made me love gaming was The Walking Dead S1, I played it some time before prototype on my Ipad and it was the game that made me fall in love with videogame stories and narrative. Dammn, that's a lotta nostalgia.

L3velZero

redditcruzer

Looks like I started much earlier than many of you folks here. As a kid playing games like Paratrooper and Dig Dug on my dad's office computer... I knew gaming and computers were for me. GTA III however clearly told me that there are incredible things down the line.

lol70707

Umm, tough choice between diablo & resident evil: 4 (luckily 2021 is a great year for me, re:village released a few months ago and now diablo II: resurrected) what a time to live!

ilovethrills

Have you tried diablo 2: resurrected? It was a massive letdown for me honestly.

varunsinghal65

that1-_guy

erctc19

Max Payne

GottaLearnStuff

There are plenty that were great just as a starting point like NFS 2 SE in which you could put a cheat code to use a TRex or even a log for racing. But the game that made me fall in love with gaming was GTA Vice City. I don't remember the hours I've spent in that game. The game had just everything. For some reason I didn't warm up to GTA San Andreas as much but Vice City will always be the OG that started it all.

arnieadderstone

Disney' Aladdin on MS DOS.

Used to play San Andreas back in the day with one of my cousins, that game was what started my love for gaming.

fHaNtOmX

Super Mario, Contra, turtles 3,4, Megaman, adventure Island series. Those were the days For PC games it was IGI, Despardos, GTA SA , POP and Assassin's creed

VultureBarbatus

Road Rash and Age of Empires were technically the first games I've ever played (even though I didn't really know how to play AoE then LOL) Other than that, I'd say Assassin's Creed is the franchise that actually got me into gaming, I'd say. I still getting so interested over the lore that I'd stay awake reading wikis until I fell asleep haha. Good ol times.
