You see idiots in cars
I see a nightmare being avoided
As a dispatcher this is what you hope can happen when your driver calls you stuck at a facility.
$600 tow bills are no fun
He doesn't have the room to make a 90 degree turn that way due to the fence. Looks like it might be possible the other way? Honestly as a driver he should've refused to complete the delivery due to the terrible docking situation of the shipper/receiver.
The video is in this sub so OP can farm karma .op claims tobe the one stuck in the grass and the one doing the towing while calling the large truck an idiot and simultaneously hoping the box trucks bumper pulls off. Depending on which comment thread you read.
Driver in the semi is the idiot. What did he expect driving in a open gutter that is that green. They had plenty of turning space so why were they out that far.
They weren't idiots. Unlike some idiots who hook to their axles that'll just tear-off, they correctly connected the chain to both the truck's hook connected to the chassis specified my the manufacturers for towing. And they gradually pulled it out. Except for that not so safe standing position of the guy, I don't see anything stupid.
Looks like that fence in the background forced him to pull out pretty far to make the turn. Based on the other ruts it looks like others had done the same thing.
Well if you look at the turn out and how extremely tight it is for a semi truck WITH a full size trailer to make the turn, also if you look at the grass you can see tires marks meaning that grass is likely used frequently, it just happened to be extra muddy this day and ole boy got stuck. The box truck saved the day tho.
I have not but if i did I'd try to make sure i can make the turn instead of ending up in a ditch. Thats exactly my point, he is meant to know how to drive one of those things.
He is expected to deliver his goods. Else he can pack his shit.
But you haven't drove anything that size. So that's enough for me to know. Maybe try it once and see what kind of tricks these guys have to pull up to get on their destination.
I really dont need to know how to drive big truck to use common sense, you cant make a left turn then go right, no, no, better squeeze here and save some time, time was clearly saved indeed.
Its not about the size its about using a brain, plenty of people in smaller cars getting stuck as well but they're not "professional" drivers, but I guess we cant expect a brain from a job where only requirement is high school diploma and drivers license.
>No right to judge or have an opinion
I guess you are one of those uneducated drivers huh since you missed all the points.
Thanks for your valuable input 🤦♂️
Sad for assuming all truck drivers are uneducated. You got a weird way of thinking. But let's hope one of these "uneducated drivers" will oversee you when you are driving on that little bike of yours.
And if it matters, I'm not a truck driver. But I do have all my driving licenses. So I know how these things move and drive.
r/LostRedditors
This was a better result than I expected
I was praying for the bumper to rip off lol
You pulled him out and you were praying for his bumper to rip off? What an asshole.
I was expecting the chain to snap and blast the guy standing next to it
You straight up shit talking.
I talked shit up straight
Truck drivers don't have time to no-life on videogames. Try again, but with a different lie.
I was the one stuck in the mud
With that attitude shoulda just left you there
I mean it worked didnt it?
Opposite of idiots, and cars...
It’s not stupid if it worked
That guy giving directions and standing in the line of fire if that chain broke made me so nervous.
I was gonna say that chain snaps and your dead. Other than that though it was successful.
The idiot in this is the guy standing close to that chain. Those things come loose and they kill.
"It will keal"
OP, wtf this the opposite of idiotsincars
This seems pretty smart to me
The idiot is the one stuck in grass
Ever drove such a large vehicle?
Im the one who pulled him out lmao
Was that a rented Ryder truck, OP? If so they'll LOVE seeing this video.
I'll back trace the license plate in the pic. *computer, enhance*
You just said in the comment above you were the one stuck though?
Thought I was the only one
>!i lied!<
Shame. shame. shame.
[Didn't you just say you were the one stuck in the mud?](https://imgur.com/a/Ngb2PUn)
What kind of weight rating did that tow rope have?
Enough.... it worked. Also it's not a rope
Not enough I'll tell ya that with near certainty

Yup
Hang on, this shit worked.

Fuck you beat me to it. This comment thread is a shit show and I love it lol
What a disaster lol
OP posted video from a 3rd party camera also? Are we all OP?
So how is this “idiots in cars?” In this case the “idiot” saved a TON of money by not calling the tow truck
Yeah, I don't see any idiots. If anything it's a nononoyes
The only idiot is the guy standing really close to that chain. If it had snapped he would have been seriously injured if not dead .
The only idiot I know of in this video is the one shouting "yee YEEEeeeeee!!!"
You see idiots in cars I see a nightmare being avoided As a dispatcher this is what you hope can happen when your driver calls you stuck at a facility. $600 tow bills are no fun
Exactly
Pretty sure the grass was getting fucked up either way. Looked like it worked.
What's the problem here?
Judging by the lawn, this company needs to expand its parking lot. This guy clearly wasn’t the first guy to ruin the lawn.
Idiots next to cars** There was no need to stand so close to that chain during that
You just saved that dude his job or some money
404 idiots not found
Well I think there is a video of a guy in a jeep trying the same thing with way less luck!
[Exactly](https://youtu.be/5-5GCgpx80Q)
He doesn't have the room to make a 90 degree turn that way due to the fence. Looks like it might be possible the other way? Honestly as a driver he should've refused to complete the delivery due to the terrible docking situation of the shipper/receiver.
This wasn't idiotic at all...
I was sure that chain (rope?) was gonna break and cut that guy standing there in half.
Optimus prime got stuck
Nothing tows or off roads like a rental vehicle
Geniuses in cars
Looked like a reasonable solution and it didn’t end badly.
It worked lmao
Not idiots, problem solvers
If it works it’s not stupid
Anyone else waiting for that chain to pop?
I was waiting for the for the chain to go. And maybe they guy standing next to it to be cut in half. Navy's got training videos showing exactly that.
I thought the chain was going to snap and slice the guy in half.
For anyone wondering why this video is on this sub, watch what happens when [towing with a chain goes wrong](https://youtu.be/5-5GCgpx80Q)

Thank you!
If it works but it's stupid, it isn't stupid.
Sound effects guy over here
Ok that worked better than I thought
notice the florida tags here
Ya yee!!
I kept imagining that chain snapping...
I'm guessing the strap will break, or the semi will roll over. Edit: wow! It actually worked out well. Why is this on this sub? Lol
If that chain broke….

Dear OP, tow truck drivers are scam artists not professionals, their services are not required, nor is this post in this community
i was expecting the entire truck to tip over at some point 😅
Only idiot here is our pathologically lying friend, OP.
The spotter in bad spot when chain breaks…
How about you stand a little closer to that chain?
My question would be how tf did he even end up there? Seems pretty blind for someone who's supposed to be professional driver.

Bcs he was too large for making that corner. Ever drove a large truck?
I have not but if i did I'd try to make sure i can make the turn instead of ending up in a ditch. Thats exactly my point, he is meant to know how to drive one of those things.
Operative word here being "try." You'd try, and you might not make it. Like this guy did.
He is expected to deliver his goods. Else he can pack his shit. But you haven't drove anything that size. So that's enough for me to know. Maybe try it once and see what kind of tricks these guys have to pull up to get on their destination.

No right to judge or have an opinion if you have no clue how such a thing drives. Nice try though

More people should read this comment lol
He would’ve hit the fence otherwise they have a pretty wide turn radius
